No PFDs' for anyone, rough water, playing around with the camera, cold weather, big puffy jackets...just the kind of thing to drown everyone...soggy jackets to make sure you exhaust yourself in the cold, nasty water & drag you down. Are you actually trying to kill someone here? Ever hear of something called "small craft advisories"?
What a bunch of pussies making these comments. This is what these boats are made for, they're totally in control and having a blast. I've been out in conditions like this on the Sound many times.
You can break a boat up and by a new one if you're not injured. Race boats break too. People in race boats are in bolsters or strapped in. I see bunch of guys holding a handle or seat to stay in the boat. Not good. Boats hook get slammed and people are out. Water below 60° F can give you GASP reflex. You can't control your breathing when you hit the water. One or two ounces can drown you I forgot which it is. Have I done it yes by myself way worse than that. I use to play in the surf dropping off 8-10' waves in Jones Inlet. Blew my outboard covers off, busted bulkheads, torn the back deck from the boat twisting. But I was alone. When you all blow out of the boat your PFD's are where? Below deck unlike a race boat where they are on you. I raced for years in boats up to 150 mph 20+ years ago. It's all fun till something happens then it's not. That's an accidental and lawsuit eating to happen. I do know some people killed in fast boats racing and not racing. Carry on as you 🥺 please. Age brings experience and it's not all good. There's no rescue chopper over you either. Water was 🙂
