Skateboarding lost its soul once small wheels and big pants took over . Freaking generic Popsicle sticks represent the whole cookie cutter culture, boring and no style just go big and get that big banger. I love shape and graphics that match their style don't care what people say .
Airik1111 I don’t really think it’s about big pants I think it’s mostly about how people only start skating because they like the idea of being park of the skating community
These wannabes make me queasy trying to recreate the style of an era they weren't part of. Dean you're a pompous asshole therefore your opinion is invalid.
The handplant-fakie over the channel attempts were genuinely-nerve-wracking... Imagine going that fast essentially straight to your head if you miss the plant
I haven’t really seen anyone with style like this since... ever. I think only Mark Gonzales can be compared. Maybe Natas. Skaters like this don’t come along often. I don’t think there’ll be anyone like this in the next 50 years. Allot of the tricks he does others can’t do because they don’t have the style to fit that trick. It’s like he has a progressed late 80’s vert style, on street (and vert still). Santa Cruz has a true gem with this guy, I hope they realize that. Also I don’t see anyone else riding old school re-issue boards almost exclusively.
Old Natas graphics, Cab, Hawk and all the bones brigade had sick graphics. And of course vision when they were still a real brand. Just such a sick period for the whole look of skateboarding.
If you mean sick like not quite as healthy as on a normal, evenly weighted board, then I agree completely.. Other than the struggle in flip tricks, his style of skating, and tricks are gnarly..
If there's another KOTR, Santa Cruz needs to be one of the teams. I mean Winkowski, Braun, Asta, Knox, Guzman, Johnson, Remillard, Gartland, Mccoy, Wooten, Delfino. 😔👌
I love this era of skateboards, I hope re revise this board it was like a samurai sword and how part of your soul goes into the sward.........well part of a skaters soul go's into the semi retro board styles. It becomes an extension of the staters body. Ok I'm really high and trippin balls and about to chase it with some DMT so I'm feeling very spiritual. The question is am I wrong though?
Much harder to break but you can def snap em if you skate impact like this kid and don’t land bolts. Still, they are fun. This is what my first board was like circa 1989. Balance is different too. Great for carving transition.
5:06 that spot looks intimidating, I bet it's gnarlier in person too--5 flat 6, slightly downhill and popping off bricks with a drainage grate 2 ft before popping🤯
