This is my new favorite video! The entire video was killer from the rough seas, to the beauty of the Bahamas, and the funny comments and camaraderie while fishing. Truly a testament of how much dedication you put into making great content! Keep up the awesome work!
What is so cool & admirable is your attitude. Days of planning, researching, prep along with weeks/months of water/tide/current/course studies, financial investments in boat/gas/equipment & a man on a mission mindset .... all with the goal of landing a monster Wahoo. Then, the realization that the end prize is just not meant to be after ALL that work, yet, you still appreciate the little things & have the most positive outlook. A great example of how life goes, not always as planned. Can definitely relate to the chase and coming up short, just got to keep grinding & eventually that day will arrive. We have a place in Key Largo, not far from you guys. Hope to run into you one day. Badass video, much respect!
One of my favorite parts of these videos is watching y'all pull into Bimini. I make that trip every year, and watching these videos, make me long for it even more!
The night shots were super cool! The boat looks incredible all lit up in the moonlight. And, it’s great that you guys got your Wahoo! And, some monster Yellow Eye!!! Nice going!
Spent a good amount of time in the vicinity of Cay Sal Bank, mostly assisting Cubans that were stranded in their journey North. If you go again, I would suggest getting wet and checking out a few ledges for lobster. They are HUGE!
I can only imagine what the bottom looks like there. I’ve thought about jumping in the past, however, was greeted by two bull sharks & changed my mind. Next time I want to give it a try.
Favorite video to date no question! Awesome job as being the capt and fisherman and production quality top notch content as expected from y’all by now.
Thank you so much. It was a little wavy out that day I would say. 😂 Stephanie's doing great thank you so much for asking. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching.
What an awesome trip dude! Those night shots with the drone were phenomenal! This episode was so good and looks like you guys had a great time over there!
Man, I am loving your videos and content, so well made! But at the same time... totally depressing me because it is so beyond my reach. I love the ocean and fishing and did a fair amount with my friends back in the days at the Jersey shores. More bad weather and conditions than good but we didn't care. We only had the basics, small boat and simple gear but had a ton of fun. Blue fish on a lightweight Fenwick with a tiny Shimano reel and 6# line. That was exciting. Now that I am near retirement, I have time and funds and would love to have my own boat and all the rigs but wow, the learning curve! We used to navigate with Loran C, a basic fish finder and followed seagulls. Now, it's a totally different ball game. Flying balloons, electric reels, stay in place motors, crazy!! Plus being 60 is not the same energy level as being 20! Keep the great content coming.
This is an epic video Clay awesome drone views. I see some awesome improvements to your cinematography shots. Looking forward to 2024 stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
That’s a wet ride. I love Contenders and you did a great job at the helm. I prefer a boat like Regulator with a nice bow flare to keep the inside of the boat dry. I took a 30 Regulator from St.Pete to Key West in 4-6 foot seas and it handled it to perfection. Super dry and we didn’t get beat up. It just got up top and did its thing. Very impressive boat in terms of build quality and ride.
Watching from Northern Illinois (currently -13 degrees outside), I'm envious brothers! Man that fishing looks awesome. Almost as nice as sitting on buckets over holes in ice reeling in bluegill, Crappie, walleyes and pike! 😂 At least we have Fireball to keep us a warm-ish.
This is a great vid guys! Really epic footage! This vid has everything, nice boating, great fishing, day and night calm and rough ocean. Loved it from beginning to end!
You can tell you took the storytelling skills up a notch in this episode, and the night aerials were beautiful. Looks like an awesome trip. Thanks for making great content
Can you show us a copy of the paperwork that we need for customs in Bimini island? What else do we need? We’re planning to make a trip this summer and we want to be up-to-date with the paperwork will appreciate it very much.
Hey Louis! I appreciate the support. I suggest you look up regulations when you go, because they change from time to time. We had a cruising permit & then checked in through immigration. You can get the cruising permit online but it’s not user friendly or you can do it in person once you’re there.
@@LifeByTheBow thank you ! Long drive from Ohio with the fifth wheel 🥴! May need Stephanie’s real estate services soon .. you have my hubby sold on the Florida keys life !
Just thought I would chime in maybe give some insight. I’ve learned that fishing for wahoo is a lot harder then it seems. So what they do is nip the tail of the bait to injure it then come and eat once the bait drops. Since you’re trolling the bait doesn’t drop. What I do is have someone on the rod at all times, when they see a bite open the bail and let the bait drop . You’ll get a lot more hook ups . hope this helps would love to see another wahoo video using this technique.
Wow, nice trip !! You guys are a legend running all the way to the Bahamas checking in and then running south to the banks to fish and then back home. Warriors
Clay, When you leave Cay Sal, do you need to check back into the US via customs before arriving at your home dock? Or can you put in your home coordinates and head straight there with no re-entry issues?
What a beautiful location and the fish yellow eyes were amazing. Awesome content and amazing video loved the night shots with drone amazing. Tell Stephanie we missed her hope she’s doing well ❤
Clay this one will be one to talk about when you guys are older!!! Keep it up brother, from Canada.... If we ever buy down in Florida, I'd make sure to get in touch with Stephanie!!!
Man oh man 😢 seeing that piece of boat with the word LIBERTAD (FREEDOM) written on it made extremely sad bc I’m almost sure they didn’t make it 😕 You made me feel a little closer to my country CUBA 🇨🇺 ❤ Loved this adventurous bumpy trip 😊
Hey bro I know in Florida you guys are used to fishing in that 100-150 range for wahoo but over in the Bahamas and Caribbean the drop offs and reef systems are completely different. You should try deeper water for better success, anywhere from 300-700ft.
And those journeys will get shorter so savor them. Enjoyed tagging along as my journeys have been mostly short as I age. The boat still wants to go but the captain likes calmer water. Hope you get there too. Good luck.
You just made me stay up late buddy I only wish I can go on a trip with you and show you how to master the wahoo I make my own hand made lures for wahoo am gonna have to mail you some to try them out
awsome trip with da boyz man ! great fishing but that boat ride from the start of trip i felt bad for two guys on the sides of you that looked miserable but other then that it looked phenomenal man loved this episode
The fish in our Bahamian waters are dying of old age baby! The most beautiful, tastiest fish in the World! I wanted to do this type of fishing in South Andros Bahamas with my own fish house on my land there! Love our Bahamian waters! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What an outstanding adventure! You likely already know this Clay, but if your boats LED's are able, setting them to the color Red, will both illuminate your boat as well as allow you eyes to adapt to seeing at night. In other words red light doesn't interfere with your eyes natural night vision. Be safe and keep living the dream.
THATS HIM!! haha love the night vision cam too man that thing is SICCKK - CLAY IS THE GOAT MAN!!! I should be watching this show on Discovery channel man !!
