Diana was FAVORED by most polling unless Hollywood sympathy took the power away from Motown and handed it to Judy Garland's daughter Liza Minnelli who did an also critically-acclaimed turn in "Cabaret". She beat Diana for the win.

Wonderful Review. Miss Ross was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award and took home a Golden Globe Award for this performance. She also won the British Oscar equivalent. The Soundtrack (2-album) went to No. 1. Her "Mahogany" and "The Wiz" are also classics. As is her TV movie work including "Out of Darkness" (Golden Globe nomination) and "Double Platinum" (with Brandy).
