awesome to hear u played the ipod version of waw zombies. big nostalgia for me when I was a kid. such a shame its no longer on the app store - would love to play it again.
27:42 Why I love WAW-BO2. BO3 is also amazing, but with the shift in artstyle (more vibrant colours) and general inclusion of high fantasy elements such as dragons, giant octopuses and landscape that seems more impressive than eerie, you lose the magical feeling that older zombies games had. BO2 Origins and MOTD strike a perfect balance in my opinion.
I think this is why BO4 feels so off to me, the hud feels way too clean and refined for a zombies mode, and the map designs lost the mystique and ruggedness that make you feel like you’re surviving against hoards of zombies.
@@twiz476 Yeah in general games have shifted towards a cartoonish artstyle over the years for the simple reason that that makes them more appealing to young audiences. It’s about profit and I get that, but it hurts the overall quality of the gameplay imo.
Zetsoubo didn’t have vibrant colours. Gorod krovi also didn’t have vibrant colours. I’d say the only map which looked cartoonish was revelations and part of shadows of evil.
@@x52wolf12 A lot of the cartoonish elements are in the enemies themselves. On Zetsubou that’s the spiders, and the BO3 zombie designs in general are very non-threatening compared to BO2 imo. Even Zetsubou has a cartoonish artstyle compared to BO1/BO2. it just has less saturated colours.
I genuinely don’t understand how BO4 gets shit on yet CW gets praised. There’s no innovation or anything cool about the maps. The maps on CW feel like campaign and not zombies
if one is good enough at zombies, should try BO4 high rounds always on hardcore difficulty, normal is too easy and repetitive since all maps you can just camp with bazooka, with hardcore strategies vary more from map to map and some maps are actually very hard to get to 100.

You couldn't actually get past round 100 back then, we tried :p but the highest top pagers got was round 80-90 then your xbox would freeze, you had to put a mini fan on it for an extra 10-15 rounds it used to freeze up at round 70 all the time so you could push to 85-90 if you were lucky, also xbox updates used to ruin your game and they'd happen all the time, there were many reasons we couldn't back then but now things are different, PCs can run rounds a hell of a lot easier, the frames back then were fucking dreadful. I hit round 88 on Buried 3rd day of release and knew quite a few top zombie players, still play till this day just more casual.
1 down was also a game reset because you'd never hit top page with a down back then either, now they don't matter all that much, Id reset games with over 50k kills over 1 dumb down because id be tired, good olds days where a light mistake would end your game.
38:00 yeah this is probably the biggest issue with bo4, they changed the pathing of the zombies, unlike earlier games where they chase you, in bo4 they have predictive pathing and chase where you are going and get in your way
I agree when you say bo2 was the hardest zombie game. I tried to hard to get skull shotgun rank I think I was like 12 when I started playing. I got skull and shotguns rank but that's probably because I almost exclusively played town. Without this game I never would have gotten good at zombies

unpopular opinion- Whos who would have been a better perk on MOTD. Basically giving you another after life and having something that can be a clutch if you are absolutly fucked helps out alot.

Shocking zombies in afterlife doesn’t kill or despawn zombies, it just teleports them. Unless you physically cannot res yourself, its better to just leave the zombies alone.
Not really, a few more damage won't change a speedrun, unless it's like 20% more damage on a boss fight maybe, but just for regular zombies, it won't matter
Doesn't change that much, sure he'd be forced to play 65 fov (unless he used a mod menu to change it), but that's it, fov changes nothing about the games mechanics
I haven’t played Cold War since it came out. Cool to see they added flopper and the ability to pack a punch the wonder weapon. I would’ve gone for 100 if the changes had been made when I played it
I think the main problem with bo4 zombies is that they changed the pathing of the zombies to the player. Like I’ve spent the last decade learning how these zombies move so I can escape tough situations, then they go and change how the zombies move on a fundamental level? Yeah. No thanks.I
