Back with a redo of this arrangement that I completed back in 2016! Route 216 is probably my favorite route in Sinnoh - taking in the sight of the first snow route in a Pokémon game after exiting Mt. Coronet on your way up to Snowpoint City was such a sight to behold as a kid. Seeing your footprints in the snow and hearing the unique crunch sound, man, those were some great memories.
This arrangement is one of the first redos of old covers that I've uploaded to the channel for the Year of Sinnoh! I've done a few other redos of some other tunes, but I haven't uploaded some to RU-vid (yet) - unsure if I'll be uploading them at all or just putting them on the final Year of Sinnoh album. I really really liked my old arrangement of this theme, but I wanted to see what I could do with access to a few more instruments, as well as my improved audio production skills since 2016. I'm really happy with this end result, it was so much fun getting to blend lots of different timbres in this arrangement. I'm particularly pleased with the opening statement of the melody after the intro, which is orchestrated for flute, alto sax, tenor sax, cup mute trumpet, and harmon mute trumpet. All those timbres just blended together so nicely!
You have notice that I'm in a different location that usual, and that's because I've moved! Since I graduated from the Berklee College of Music back in May, I've been out of school, and have been itching to move somewhere that's more suited for my at-home music making, especially during this social distancing era. I'm currently in the same house that I was when I started my channel, but in a completely different room! My dad and I swapped offices, so the small room with the blue walls that was formerly my music room is now my dad's office, and the big basement is now my music space! I'll be doing a studio tour once all my gear arrives and gets set up (still waiting on my studio desk!) - very excited to show that! For now, I'm really happy with this space, and excited to get to create music without restrictions here!
