I remember when the 276 bus route was part of Stagecoach (East London) when I was a child. It went to Go Ahead in 2011 and on Saturday it's going to go back to Stagecoach this week. I will be boarding the 276 route this Friday on it's last day in Go Ahead after 12 years.
I would have thought the walk to the garage from Victoria Park via Hackney Wick would have been a shorter then the walk from Leyton underground, and cuts out the tube journey completely. Anyway another really interesting video, get back on those 97's again soon.
Great vid!. London buses take route learning seriously. Just recently had to learn a new route myself (rural buses). I had to drive with someone who knew the route for 2 days and on the 3rd day I was route learning someone new 😅
It's an easy enough route approx 50mins long, although in the country(Lincs) the pick ups and drop offs are not necessarily bus stops and the school drop offs and afternoon pick ups can be quite difficult navigating a double decker round a school car park and gates with 10 other buses/coaches in the way!. I'm not a pro at it yet😂@@RennoHundred
Congratulations on getting to drive the route 🎉 I also don’t drink coffee. Quite rare for a Go ahead route to go Stagecoach even though it should be the other way around
Cheers!🎉that's good , coffee has such a bitter taste aswell. You're right normally it's Stagecoach routes going to go ahead. It's returning home to Stagecoach after 12 years with go ahead
For Q&A: 1) Renno, what did you do before bus driving and what made you want to become one? 2)How are the pensions for a bus driver in general, are they good and if not would you recommend getting a private pension on the side? 3) As bus driving is long hours would you recommend finding a relationship partner that also is in a transportation job (as your woman would be better able to relate to you and not be bored from you not being home often)? For the Q&A What Route are you most looking forward to drive at Lea (except 276). Also, what inspired you to become a bus driver and what company did you originally intend to apply for? Final Question, do you own a car?
The 276 would be getting the YY64s off of 488 and W14 so it could accommodate 10.8Ms buses and the EX-D3 buses will go on 488 and W14 because they can run with 10.2Ms
Its still testing on 276 on the stagecoach but 276 will still continue the go ahead buses but i will might able to record on the 276 go aheads on schedule time
Im assuming these batches of buses on Route 276 (when on Stagecoach), are the ones from ex-366 bus batches from Barking before Lea Interchange receive a new order of Enviro 200 Electrics. But yh, it's nice that Route 276 is returning to Stagecoach after...10 years as GAL? I'm not sure but yh, hopefully you might find Route 276 is an okay journey for your satisfaction
It'll be ex-D3 buses. But yeah soon they'll get electrics which will be good. Yeah I think it was 12 years now. I hope so too, I start on Saturday so we'll see. Thanks for your comment!
Questions: 1. How was the interview process after you applied to become a bus driver? 2. Do you have to wear a specific uniform or type of clothing? 3. Are you covered for by insurance for any incidents/accidents ie: if you smash your wing mirror against something, do you get disciplined or is it just covered and nothing more said? 4. Is it common for bus drivers to get sacked if they continually get complaints against them are they just moved from one area to another? 5. 276 is a very long route 😅 I do take this bus Also I heard about the brand new MCV EV bodied Volvo BZL Electrics for end of this year/next year that would replace the stagecoach dart would you take that opportunity to drive those?? 🙌🏽 And what you think of those buses too if you seeing them by research
😂😂 I was thinking I hope I haven't made a mistake going to go drive 276. I definitely would drive them and it would better than the darts. They're good buses , so much more comfortable for both driver and passenger
@@jayejaye4life what happens if you don't have it? It can be hard learning a new route but once you take notes and memorise it visually, then drive it, it becomes easy.
Awesome video! I just wanted to say with go ahead london part time bus driver it says 'Previous experience driving buses/coaches (within last 2 years preferable)' but im so confused to why you have to have that?
@@RennoHundredwell I want to apply as a trainee but I think it makes sense if you have a pcv license already. Is being a trainee bus driver still classified as 'experience driving buses previously' when you get the license??
@@RennoHundred on the first day i got on at stratford with 2 other people i have curly hair same with my other friend but my 2nd friend doesnt and he has a lighter skin colour
