its funny that geoffplaysguitar just got a gig yesterday for viserafest and now mick just uploaded to his channel a new game. This is the best week ever.
@@heartstone44 How. The heck. Did I not know that already? Mick is a GOAT of Music, videogame or otherwise. I'd put him up there with Jimi, B.B. King, SRV, Gunthrie Goven, Frank Zappa, Buckethead & David Gilmore. Beyond influential. Trailblazer. I was beyond shocked when I heard from Jim-Stephanie Sterling what had happened to him from Bethesda. If you have a GOAT working for you, you don't rush him (within reason!) & you don't use him like -redacted- ! Sir, you're awesome & an inspiration to all Sound Designers & Artists! When I exercise, 4/5 times it's to Mick's music. When I play Reinhardt in Overbuttz, it's to Mick's music! When I need to *HUSTLE* for my Heavy-Duty Warehouse job, I put in both earbuds & listen to Mick's music!!! GOAT! BRAVO ST. GORDON!!!
@@DovaDude With as great every aspect of this game seems to be from the trailer whether it be visuals/graphics, attention to detail, level design, enemy design, atmosphere, lighting, and what I feel like the pacing will feel like in the full game the thing that stood out to me and was the #1 reason I replayed parts of the trailer was the sound design! I really hope that the full release actually sounds this good and this doesn't turn out to be post mixing for the trailer itself to add oomph. I think you nailed it, "opressive" might be the perfect descriptor for it. Now I want a longer format gameplay video so I can hear more of this mechanical, compressed, bassy, analog soundscape. Micks the best.
10 years in the making. What a long development time. Awesome to see it and awesome to hear your music again. I don't think I've heard you ever doing horror.
Game: Routine RU-vid: "Nah, it's Alien Isolation, trust me." Never heard of this project, but the ambience alone, opressive and eerie, is enough to pick my interest. Knowing you're working on it makes it even more amazing! Hope the game sells well!
It's been announced even before Alien Isolation actually. It is or was a two man project mostly. The main dev burned out and tried to push through, then the game went silent for many years and was presumed to be dead. Go look up the old gameplay trailer. It's just as good as it is now. I am super excited.
Glad to see this game come back, had my eyes on it and it vanished. The retro theme of the game, the eerieness and now Mick is on board? Gonna be a hell of a time
This game was originally announced 10 years ago before alien isolation was revealed and then entered development hell when alien was released. People assumed alien killed it because it was essentially the same thing but with robots. So hype that its back
I’ve been waiting like 12 years for this game. I remember the developers showing early progress on /v/ years before the alpha trailer the released 10 years ago. Never thought i’d see the day it would actually get released
I was looking forward to this game since the Stanley parable days, checking their website every year till they stop updating it. So glad they are back :)
Dude has it really been 12 years now??? Dang. I remember watching the trailer for the first time way back then, but can't believe it's been some 10 years or so! Every few weeks I'd be going on different forums and subreddits to see how the progress was going. So happy it's back.
One of the best reveals from the show! I was so excited to play this game, but after such a long period of radio silence I kinda lost hope. But now I am HYPED!
It took me a second before realizing it was the same sci-fi horror game set on the moon. It's been far too long, this is the one game I never thought it'd be coming back
Was really sad years back when Lunar went dark on the first iteration of Routine, though it's certainly been worth the wait & pining for. Excited to see what they've done as well as having Mick as the composer.
The audio design is phenomenal! Another great work from you, Mick! It really encapsulates the feeling of being surrounded by cold, metal hardware in a hostile area. It's realistic and "makes you think you are actually there". Again, very nice!
God, I remember watching the original gampelay teaser for this about 10 years ago. If memory serves, it has a perm-a-death system like ZombieU and is based off of retro future tech. Really glad your working on this Mick, as I did back then, I look forward to this games release.
MICK, oh my god. I actually looked into this project thinking something awful happened, and I remember reading they got you involved before going silent. I also remember one of the main devs apparently getting harrassed pretty badly online. I thought they may have killed their budget trying to get you in and it dominoe'd into the project failing. Im so curious about everything. I literally tried to contact one of the devs myself to see if I could pick up the scraps of what was developed. Im so confused but also so happy
I'm so down for the "behind the scenes" for this comeback of the game, for Mick's involvement. The most unbelievable and fascinating announces from this SGF.
This might be the first time I've ever just gone for listening to a trailer first, and then gone back to actually see if the visuals are worthy. Take from that what you will.
OHH WOW!!! I saw a teaser trailer for this game yeeeeaars ago, I thought it had been forgotten about!!!! I'm now 10 times more excited to see that you are involved in the sound/music!!!! Cant wait!!!!!
Holy shit this is unreal. The return of an amazing horror game that looked dead combined with literally one of the best ever composers in modern video game music. Can't wait.
Mick, you need listen the cover of Alex Terrible of BFG division in his channel. If you 2 don't collaborate to do some I'm not going to die in peace. Is just perfect.
When I was a teenager I fell in love with everything Chris Vrenna was trying to push onto a reluctant and stagnate music industry. Holy shit, everything Vrenna professed came to be… and it’s name is Mick Gordon!! Yeah, Doom is a masterpiece, but where you’re going now is giving me fucking chills.
RU-vid thinks its Alien: Isolation lol. But this looks amazing. I hate the whole solarpunk feel that futuristic stuff has. This is a cool artistic change. I love your work bro
