Routing a Lego Chain Around Multiple Obstacles 

okay the music was merited this time.

This is awesome! I have an N scale Model Train Layout and I had this idea of making a warehouse with no roof on it so a viewer could see inside of it. I was looking for an idea to make forklifts run around the warehouse looking like they are moving pallets around. This might be a way to make them do that. If I were to add a magnet on the chain in a few places, I could retrofit the forklifts with a steel bearing and place the chain system under the floor of the warehouse. As the magnet runs around, it will attract the steel bearing and the forklift will sit on top of said bearing and get pulled around the warehouse! Maybe put the bearing in the pallet so the forklift gets pulled and stays in a forward direction... Even tho forklifts are rear-wheel steer, I think the effect of moving forklifts will outshine the fact that they aren't steering quite right. especially in N scale!

I'm an electrician at a large scale web fed printing company. I'm curious about this because I didn't think there were any manufacturers building new machines. The couple that are left mostly just do refurbished or used machinery. We scratched our R&D division long ago. You must be one of the last engineers left in this particular industry.

@@n16161 Why are such crazy complex mechanical systems even still being created, when everything is digital and easily printed without over the top complex systems? Seems like an outdated design.

Speaking of TechMoan, I was wondering if there is some sort of ancient A/V equipment that routes the tape/film/media like this

@@MrHack4never I mean if you have a look at the proper big iMax cinemas that use a 70mm film reel they have a little bit of a mechanism that is pretty cool, sometimes the iMax will even send the film reel up a few floors via pulleys and stuff and all the way back down depending on the setup of the projector.

It is very finnicky, but as someone who has built things like fully teleoperational LEGO Nerf tanks, it's less calculated, at least for me, and more of a "I've got this idea. I've got an idea of what sort of pieces might work. Let's try the idea" and as you get experience your success rate with that approach simply goes up. I think people overestimate how hard it is to begin doing this kind of stuff. It's not easy, but if you're anything resembling "mechanically inclined," it's not that hard to start making really crude stuff that still [does thing].

@@meta_username Agreed. It's more like trial and error rather than calculated and methodical. The thing about lego is that you already have the pieces you need (and plenty of others you don't need).

It seems that he added a random gear after finishing the chain just to give it enough tension to move properly

I thought the second half of this question was gonna be "... Because Lego is expensive and these projects are time consuming, you must have a lot of money and free time" 🤣

@@HonkingHankHill69 his videos may be monetized and get millions of views but they definitely don't bring in enough money considering how infrequent he uploads. Edit: NVM. A million view video makes around 5k and some of them are way past a million views. Even so, I doubt that he doesn't have a different job.

low laps first drs zone doesn’t have an overtaking opportunity due to the tight bend into the next, maybe a good one with the next zone, but then it would just be a drs overtaking track like monaco or imola (new cars old tracks don’t work 😢) if the cars were smaller than the right hand side could be pretty interesting but it would never work in a million years with an f1 car. i need a life

I see TV competition show between colleges promoting STEM in education, that would actually be watched by millions, sponsored by Lego of course.

Computers are just really fancy physics, so it's difficult but not impossible. Perfectly doable, and probably slightly easier than you think. Especially if your focus is not a perfect simulation.

make it a game where you take turns, one person puts down a 4x1 block and the other has to solve it. switch every other round, no impossible things (you have to be able to do it yourself) whoever fails to do it loses board game btw

From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!
