Am a long time Zwift user and just got on Rouvy. Absolutely love the realism and the ability to explore real locations. Far more immersive than i could have hoped for as someone who just likes to go on rides to clear the mind.

I was training for my 70.3 IM performance in Mallorca this year and can say that the climbs I performed on Rouvy as prep were more or less the same pace I could then do there on the ground. So thumbs up for the accuracy.

My times on ROUVY up climbs are pretty much identical to my times on the same times in reality. Very accurate. Zwift is very flattering.

I am using Rouvy for 3 years. For me, riding bike means exploring the world, so zwift is boring to me, Rouvy let you explore the world while on indoor trainer, it's just more interesting

Thanks, @stinkybeam. That's precisely what we aim to do: not make it boring and to add some value as travelling is. 💜

I love Rouvy for those winter days that taking it out is not possible. But it is very different to reality. Outside, a breeze can slow you down, a strong wind gust can bring you to a complete stop, the rough tarmac can make your butt feel sore, and much more. Rouvy however, can get you where you most likely will never be. Also, in real life being a lone rider, with Rouvy it is the only way for me to get social or sort of when cycling.

I’ve been using ROUVY this year and love it. I’m not bothered about racing, so for me it is an immersive experience, riding great routes around the world and for structured training rides. I use a Kickr climb for added realism and it helps with comfort on longer rides as weight shifts on the saddle.

Hi @grahambowes756, we are very pleased to hear that! Love the combination of ROUVY and Kickr. 💜

I have abandoned Zwift in favour of Rouvy earlier this year and I haven't looked back, I particularly love the paced ride option which enables me to mostly switch off and just keep turning the pedals until I've had enough, the graphics are mostly good enough although sometimes I've experienced a moment where my on screen rider disappears or rides off into the distance like the "camera" view can't keep up somehow. Weirdly I still get some anxiety when there's an oncoming car, and a car almost pulls out in front of you near the top of the Col d'Èze which seems to make the heart rate go up, so I guess it's a kind of testament to it's immersiveness.

Been using Rouvy for a few years. Nothing quite like riding the Stelvio on it. Have done a few times. Just beaut. Good training for when I can one day afford to do it IRL.

Think about it. Indoor “hills” are just level 0% grade riding into a head wind using your level riding muscles. Try elevating your front wheel and you will feel the upper hammies work a bit harder and climbing muscles

I use Rouvy as a proxy for virtual tourism of routes I'll likely never experience in real life.

Rouvy is definitely my choice! I enjoy exploring places I'd love to ride but know I'll never have the chance to visit there or visit as long as I'd like. It doesn't need to be the famous ones, just local ones from my favorite areas are great too!

Using Rouvy for a year, far far better than Mickey Mouse land ( Zwift ), been over Col D´Aspin a couple of times and up on Mount Ventoux from Malaucerne, cycled two hours at descent from Bedoin and going up Mt Ventoux iRL next june. For better experience I use a Elite rizer with my smarttrainer, really a great feature. Worst about Rouvy is ghostriders, but those are easy to remove and change so you see it from "your own eyes" and not a stupid avatar.

Rouvy's on screen graphics of tue full gradient profile as well as the profile of what's immediately ahead (within seconds) is waaaay better than Zwift

I switched from rouvy to Fulgas just because it has more routes and I don’t need the weird AR stuff. Both are pretty accurate tbh. All you have to do is fiddle with your weight and aero settings in the apps to get your sim numbers to line up to similar flat and climbs speeds to outsmdoors

I'm curious how realistic people find it for steeper climbs. I am looking at a trip in Switzerland. While I have a 4.5% 24km climb in my area, I don't have any that compare to the Swiss passes. Several are on Rouvy. Is it a fair assumption that if I can do it on Rouvy, I can do it in real life?

I got the sl8 and find it very hard to paddle. Like having a 54 chainring. I also noticed that you are having difficulty attaining acceleration. Right?

I’ve always wondered which would be quicker…my power always seems higher on flats on the turbo but higher outside on climbs…bizarre and not sure how to sort that!

The difference between indoors and outdoors on the same route isn’t comparable at all and doesn’t need to be. You can’t do both at the same time and I’m not sure you will ever have to compete against a rider tackling the exact same route at exactly the same time with one of you virtual and the other in the actual space. If you are having fun, getting fit and doing what you love, just do it. I will always be quicker virtually as the equipment I can choose is way better than my actual bike! Fun video though 😊

Although you do not have any bots to ride with, Fulgaz has better visual imagery and realistic ride than Rouvy. I have a subscription to both including Zwift, because indoor cycling will get boring after a month.

Well that was..... the VS in thr title led me to believe the times and power etc on indoor and virtual would be shared at the end, but no, it was just a lame advertisement.

The graphics are in kind of uncanny valley, they might call it "realistic" or whatever, but it's actually weird. No matter the amount of advertising, Rouvy is never beating Zwift.
