Rovan Q baja review and final thoughts.... SOLD! 

36cc bajas $550 US from Fearless RC with knobby rears and the optional 16 tooth gear will wheelie just like my shorty- AND still be stable on long straights! I have both.

It's an awesome car I'd never sell mine , I use it more than my King Motor 5B the wheelies are the best !

Thx for the info, I live in Indonesia so my access to cars and parts is limited and painful at times. This Rovan is available at at reasonable cost here. I was thinking of getting the long wheel base one. I like the idea of 2wd, less to go wrong and have 4wd 1/10 electric for that sort of thing. Pure nitro is a pain here, getting fuel and all. I think I like the 2 cycle better, I am good with this sort of thing, so with some thread lock and care should be able to make a go of it. Found the shock tower braces, looking for the chassis brace. Hmm what to do, the best would be to just run my electric but I feel the need for noise, which here is not a problem. Asia, anything goes.

I always found my regular Baja 5B SS to be crazy prone to oversteer and that you had to be really sensible with the throttle, especially when coming out of corners. That being said, I found that a set of Hostile Knobbly tyres really helped for racing on grass. For about 1 year, I raced the baja against other large scale buggies (MCD and FG) and it held it's own despite being only 2wd. It's a fun buggy to blast around with provided you have a tuned pipe and use a tidy clutch arrangement eg Turtle Racing fully enclosed. The stock items simply broke/wobbled all the time. Pointless. The Short wheelbase versions are hardly designed with optimal handling in mind. I don't quite understand how you can want more wheelies yet at the same time want more steering? With 2WD drive, rear engined machines, they are steered with the throttle and it isn't an easy thing to master. Same applies to full size cars - look at the older Porsche 911 driving techniques - they were a proper handful before all the electronic wizardry and 4WD came in.

Basically the same terrible design ideas in ALL Baja's 😁🤣 I too Hate 'E' clips, but they're common to 90% of the RC vehicle's out there unfortunately, Baja steering.... What's that? 😂😁🤣 This one is accentuated due to the fact it's extremely light on the front end as it tends to be off the floor most of the time, not something I'm a fan of myself in Any vehicle, but aren't you BIG BORE guy's are used to that 😁😂 Shocks, yep, over spring, Unlike the HPI which is too soft, We sound like goldilocks 🤣 Yep, the spark plugs we has changed back to NGK, What was touted as an 'Upgraded' plug, was in terms of a brighter spark, But in doing so caused electrical problems for our killswitch's, So we had them switched out 🙂👍🏻 Radio box, yep, like all Baja's, too little room to fit stuff, And too fiddly to get into, (Can you tell I'm not a Baja fan 🤪😉) The pipe and engines work great together (especially when someone builds YOU a nice one 🥰😉) I'm surprised I didn't hear any tank gripes 🙂👍🏻 But overall a fair assessment mucker 🥰🙂👍🏻
