When the Gegs (Albanians) have settled on the Balkans, they have assimilated the Macedonian people. At that time a big part of the Mijak tribe emigrated to Sicily & Constantinople. The so called „Slavic Emigration“ is not true. One of the biggest proofs, that the South-Slavic nations are native to the Balkans is the haplogroup I2a. Kastriot and his royal family were Macedonians (Mijaks). That’s why many historians claim that he was a „Slav“ but the term „Slav“ needs a lot of discussion. The traditional men costumes of the Mijaks are almost identical with the Albanian (Gegic) costumes. You can find the same costumes among the northern „Slavs“ in Poland (Podhale region) or Slovakia.
