Yes, but there's more! The subtitles used the word "poultry" for "paltry" in describing one of the early vehicles' horsepower compared to modern cars. Well, I guess that's right: poultry power would have to be paltry. My mistake!@@perrydebell1352
Love these videos that don't depict the actual car owned by the subject, just representations. Dude, if you didn't interview the subject and show the cars firsthand, then you're just wasting everyone's time.
Not too sure how they’ve done it, but it’s amazing how rather than driving on the left. They’re driving on the right down the country lanes of England driven by journalist, Harry Metcalfe?
Lots of footage has been reversed (check the number plates). And they really should have got a literate person in to do those sub-titles - it's bad enough listening to mangled pronunciation without havng to read wrong words!
Hmm interesting owned and owns and races pretty much all the high end stuff which is awesome but i was expecting the original mini as in Mr Bean! Has Rowan Akinson owned or currently owns any? If not why wouldn't he? as the mini is both popular in the Italian job and Mr Bean and i would've expected him to own one or a few!
This is true but the problem with a canned speaking voice is it's inability to pronounce words that it doesn't know like Mille Miglia (pronounced Me - lay Me - glia), Ayrton Senna'a name (understandable as humans have a hard time with this one). I get how difficult it is to do voice overs but some of the mispronunciations are important heritage names.@@stevemawer848
It's too bad that Forza Horizon 4 Mr. Bean's Collection DLC didn't come out. I think it's a lot of fun to participate in the Goodwood Festival and participate in the car and the course he recommends with Mr. Bean
Pronunciation is s.t. real funny: The famous Italian race is pronounced “Mille Millya” and one of its famous drivers was not “Husky” but “Hushke” (the ‘u’ pronounced like in ‘bush’), and The Lancia is pronounced “Lunchyah”. But you did “Thema” real good!
Right: “Mk” is always pronounced “Mark”. On this occasion: I mostly find Americans pronouncing foreign cars charming - except Porsche: It’s not “Porsch”, the ‘e’ at the end must be spoken like the unstressed article “a”. Also “Follkswahgin”, Vollvo”, “ReNOH” (Re like “the”)and “BMVee” are the original pronuouciations. Once again to Huschke von Hanstein: Huschke is of course no first name - his is Fritz. Car guys like to say Huschke as it sounds so speedy! (But “husch!” to boost s.b. to do something faster is hardly used today.)
Sorry, but why don't you put up sensible and accurate titles for your videos?! There is absolutely NOTHING 'unbelievable" about Atkinson owning any of these cars, given his huge personal wealth and very great expertise, interest, and ability in modern, historic, and rare racing cars! Also, the background music is ridiculous - apart from being stupid, it detracts from the narration - albeit in some hideous dialect!
Would have been nice to see Atkinson's actual cars all the way through and not publicity photos. And the pronunciation of Mille Miglia marks the voiceover as not being a motorhead. One other thing, it's Ayrton Senna, not whatever gross misspelling the subtitle had.
When will commentators from the USA learn to pronounce titles properly. The race is pronounced phonetically "Meala Mealia", no G pronounced and meaning thousand miles.
Get rid of the stupid background music, or at least get rid of the vocals. You don't layer vocals underneath a narrated piece. I swear the narrator is an AI bot.
WHAT is a mill MIG-lia? Is it a special kind of mill that uses steam to grind up narration???? Rowan Atkinson is an actual racing driver, having competed in real racing series. He may not be at the top of racing, but he drives better than me (and most people). Does Harry Metcalf know you've used his channel's footage? 🤨 What is a "feet s interior"? Why would it be "8.32"? What is an "emm-kay 7"? McLaren F1 got to 240.1 mph.....where the hell did you get 243 from?
Its a European thing - don't go to Europe, I just fled. Basic facts can't make sense. Don't over-fish your waters or you won't have fish - shit like that.
@@duncanyourmate2433 I wonder what _that_ much money might do to your life. I'd kinda like to stay in bed with lots of weed & whiskey, but is there a "something" that bursts out & makes you "do stuff"?
@@jamesportrais3946 HI,when you say something , its what motivates people for me , I'd like to help people that 'society' has forgotten , homeless , i'd dearly love to go after big, banking, pharma, insurance, whole arms industry, corruption of democracy, corruption of media ,more tolerance
There are basically two groups with money: those who inherited it, and those who worked for it. Most of the people who worked for it have an internal drive, the very drive that led to success. That usually doesn't go away, so they are often driven to remain active even if they don't need the money. A lot of the LSC members (lucky sperm club/trust funders) are still driven, but I would guess a larger percentage of this group are willing to whiskey and weed there way through. But from what I've seen, the vast majority of LSCers still remain active. I had to work for it. My wife inherited it. But our behaviors are pretty closely matched now: some fun overspending, but a lot of fiscal caution and savings. @@jamesportrais3946
Fix the roads and I might get interested in driving again. I live in Thailand and the roads are total shit - wife can drive (I bought a pick-up/tank Toyota) and I can stay pissed. Try to judge a rear powerslide & you'll suddenly discover the road's not there & drown yourself in a rice-paddy. For me, watching these beautiful cars are nothing more than pornography. For the same cash I could hire a coach and horses - don't see much of them, probably on the menu.
bean crashes his 2nd car a machlarean insurance 1million pays it to be fixed it & beanhead sells it for a 8million profit :) oh come on give me a break
I’d love to see him visit Jay Leno’s place, imagine the conversation between those two. He doesn’t seem like such a nerd seeing this collection, that Bentley is beautiful.
Mk is the reduction of the word Mark, so the big Jaguar is spoken as the Mark V11 not the MK V11. American computerised voice overs, they cannot speak English, the don’t understand punctuation, so …………properly useless!!!
Choose different music that is less noticeable, this music track was horrible to listen to on repeat, avoid high pitch voices next time, they're distracting.
