Well done, mate! How much easier is it making power out of the LS2 compared to the ol' 5L's, huh! It's funny, almost feels like your cheating- the kind of power you make, so easily! To make 373rwkw out of a 5'ie- it'd be expensive and grumpy as fuck (which can be cool to drive too)

~1300kgs. VNs are about 500kg lighter than a VF Commodore. Half a ton less makes a huge difference to performance. People forget how heavy late model Commodores and Falcons are.

Driver needs to chill out a bit and stop getting hyped up when he's racing..the dude is driving like it's his first ever pass!..And we know it aint by the gear changes..helps to go to Heathcote for a day get 10-20 passes in and learn to relax...then head back to Calder to set some PB's..nice car, it's crazy how easy 10's is when you chuck a LS in a VN...to the owner, chuck a 9 inch in it, you'll be blowing the BorgWarner diffs every week...the 4:11's break all the time because the crown wheel and pinion are far too small and can't take it...I must of blown 20 or more BW diffs back in the day!

I had the complete opposite experience in my VN 5L 5 speed. Had a mini spool in it and never broke an axle or had any diff problems other than eventually it worn the splines on the spool surprisingly and needed replacing- that was 5 or 6 years that took of being driven like it was stolen every single day- wirh a pretty serious built motor as well... I swear I'd dip the clutch in 2nd around 70 - 80kmh as skate up thw street for what felt like hundreds of meters! Fuck that car was FUN! Preston Auto's built the diff. Preston Auto's FTW!!! I never ran slicks on it and i don't recall seeing drag radials back then. So the shitty street rubber would have softened the blow to the diff every time you'd pop or dip that clutch. Still, the diff held up to so much abuse...

when you miss 4th and you look up at the clock and realise you ran 10.5 you kinda kick yourself, but if you can do better come down on the 1st of feb and il hand you the keys and will see how you go down the track!!

@@nocomp11 I think you did fine and can drive it better than 99% of the kind of people that talk shit on the net, you probably missed 4th from clutch fade more than a missed gear, that's what usually happens...I was just saying you looked too hypo and need to relax...we all go through that stage when you first start racing, but after a few runs you should be able to settle down and focus...I've got 700 passes under my belt and I was exactly the same in the beginning...including a few hundred in a VN...as for the diff, it's simply not worth time and money replace the BorgWarner...the best case it will last 3 moths and blow, the worst is every week...go 9" and do it once!...btw i'm that 1%...lol

@@333trouble8 700 passes wow i reckon im not far off that i was upset because when i looked up at the clocks seeing i ran 10.5 and i miss a gear you kick yourself knowing that was a 10.3 pass if not faster. But out of 6 passes all consistent 10.4s im very happy

Any one remember Nathan higgins ute went a 10.7 @134mph in a stoke stroke N/A 346 ls1 with a 6 speed IRS rear end vy ute i think that record still stands today

I’m a big fan of NA V8s. All these new turbo/blower combos just aren’t ‘pure’ like the old cars I grew up in and having. From my Dad’s 69 GTO to my various mustangs and corvettes i always liked the pursuit of more power through heads, cam intake fuel upgrades etc etc. Much respect you’ve got a beautiful machine 👍🏻

Its retains a factory 5.7L crank has a 6.0L block with je forged pistons and h beam rods and still retains factory 241 5.7L heads
