If you think about it, Bramableclaw, Squirrelflight, and Ashfur’s relationship is basically a very dramatic kindergarten battle over who gave her the most cookies.
this entire map is absolutely fantastic, but there's one little animation that really stuck out to me on my rewatch here! kay2036's part at about 2:19 you can see squirrelflight pull her tail away as soon as brambleclaw had his back to them! i think that little symbolism of squirrelflight perhaps not considering ashfur as seriously as brambleclaw is portrayed so neatly there! it kinda sets up a little foreshadowing about what the rest of the map has to show!
Wow. Just WOW. I was finally able to sit down and watch it all in one go and man I got so many chills... Seeing Rea, Jess, and so many other people working their butts off to make this happen since april and then this end result is absolutely incredible... I'm so so sooooo glad you decided to finish this! I thought your reasoning for never finishing the first one was sound and I was willing to live with it but now that we have the joke version and the real version it makes the project doubly as sweet! it always sorta made me sad that parts like nifty's never got to shine and honestly finishing it just for those few outstanding parts. I was lucky that mine was in both versions but I digress. I think all your friends did a fantastic fantastic job! not to mention that outro was stunning! you all didn't have to do that but it just added that extra level of polish. ^^ I wish you the best of luck with your future projects and I hope that if you ever have need of an animator you might keep me in mind and reach out!
What never fails to baffle me is I could never figure out this version of the song anywhere uploaded online, there are so many key differences from the both original and extended versions from the film's soundtrack. Nothing ever comes near to exact as the one in the MAP. It could very well be unique to this video in particular but the audio manipulation is outstanding!! I could understand a few cut out instrumental moments but parts with singing/ talking where the music is completely different or even when the lyrics differ, makes my brain so smooth >:0 I'm just so curious how it was done, its been YEARSSS

I think it was called something like “El Tango De Roxanne ‘epic version cover,’” or something like that. I’ve never been able to find it since though, so I believe it no longer exists, but it was definitely a thing at one point…

Kiwi Animations I haven't read past fireheart's arc much but from what I figured out ashfur got hurt (the grey cat) and either hollyleaf (one of squirrelflight's kits) or squirrelflight kills ashfur in revenge for something (setting the fire?)

I think, but than she told everyone what squirrel flight and leaf pool did, Leaf pool the thunderclan cat, wasn't allowed to have kits or fall in love cause she was a medicine cat, and she wouldn't spend time healing other cats, she'll pay more attention to her kits. Witch is bad cuz she needs to heal her clan mates, or I don't know know how to state it- Crowfeather(there father) was a windclan warrior who can't have relationships with another cat that's not a windclan warrior cat, (sorry for bad English or stating this)

I'm so sorry that you got so outright attacked for the initial cancelling of the map. It always boiled my blood, and I wasn't even a participant, let alone the host. I can't imagine the stress you were under and I'm so sorry to everyone involved that this awful mess popped up around something you, A: worked hard on, and B: thought would be looked at reasonably. Though tbh your spoof maps are some of the ones I rewatch the most, and the Roxanne spoof was genuinely one of my favourites. It's just,, funny. It's great. All that said, the finished product is absolutely PHENOMENAL. I'm so glad that everyone can move past this and appreciate all the hard work put in both by you, Rea, as well as all your amazing friends and animators. I'm genuinely stunned by the emotion put into every scene, and the end credits are so perfect for this MAP. All components of this come together in such a great way, and I hope everyone involved is really proud, as well as hope that they all take some time for themselves, because damn you all deserve it. I think it had something to do with Hollyleaf thinking they were the kits of rouges and not wanting anyone to find out, but after realizing she was the half-clan daughter of a medicine cat, she wanted Leafpool to be punished.
I figured it was Hollyleaf's guilt of her killing a cat while not in battle, which is against the Warrior Code, something that she was super against, on top of the pressure of knowing that she wasn't Bramble's kid, and eventually figuring out that not only was she half-clan, but also the kit of a medicine cat. Lots of stuff that piled on, and she took it out on Ashfur. Now as to why they did it for PLOT, I have no idea.
If you think about the shots of dead Ashfur passionately yelling 'ROOOOOOOXAAAAAANNNNE' they're frickin amazing but just picture Ashfur alone in Starclan just really passionately yelling 'SQUIIIRRELFLIIIGHHTT' to himself and it makes you wonder

There is some absolutely phenomenal work in here! I hadn't seen a lot of these artists before, and I'm glad to have discovered them via this MAP! When I heard this might be finished later I was absolutely jazzed. [Though let's be real, the April Fools one is still absolutely HILARIOUS] Congrats to all the animators, your work is absolutely fantastic, and good job to everyone that put up with some of the negativity surrounding this when they thought it wouldn't be finished.I hope to have the privilege to work alongside these animators in whatever big MAP happens next, but if I don't, y'all should all know how incredible this turned out. OOF okay first of all: I'd like to apologize- I judged harshly and now knowing how hard it is to host MAPs, it was pretty terrible of me to be mad about such a stressful project. 1:18 I think this is my favorite part. Just the way he is animated at that moment makes a strong impression. It is hard to choose though because of how nice and different the animations are I may also have lost count of how many times I have watched this by now
Shoutout to all the people who put their heads together and worked so UNBELIEVABLY HARD to make this happen. The effort really shows and more than pays off in the end. I can confidently say that this is one of the most beautiful MAPs out there and EVERYONE did a groundbreaking job. I loved all of your past MAPs and each one holds a special place in my heart, as they have inspired me countless times. I adored the concepts and execution, so though it's sad to see you leaving that behind, I'm glad you're doing something that makes you happier and are able to move on from such a tedious task!! So all y'all who have never read a warriors book: they are seriously so good. Like it's adventure mixed with political struggles and war and you never know who is going to die or when and ugh. Just really good. Edit: I... kind of rescind this statement. The books are all over the place in quality, and though I did enjoy them as a kid and many of the arcs are still pretty good, some of them and their themes in retrospect hit me the wrong way. @taywayrose8487 in the comments put it pretty well.
I want to agree it's super good, and it does have it's climactic moments, but also between those moments are just entire books of nothing or back and forth

I think this is the first time a finished MAP has ever left me at a complete loss for words. After rewatching it three times, I still find it extremely difficult to express how truly special this collaboration became, not just in animation and direction quality (both of which are certainly in no short supply) but in the love and excitement it's progress continually sparked from thousands of fans of the series. This much awaited 8 minutes of blood, sweat, and tears is, in my mind, a shining example of what so many of the immensely talented members of our community are capable of. Rea - I cannot applaud you enough on both your outstanding directing and the sheer determination that drove you and your friends to see this to completion. And as someone who has looked up to and been inspired by your work for over 6 years, I am both blown away and so damn proud of your progress careerwise. I think I speak for all of us when I say we are incredibly excited for all that is yet to come. And what the hell - those credit animations had no right to be so awesome. (In summary - it would be a massive understatement to say Roxanne surpassed my expectations. Roxanne took my expectations, lit them on fire, and blew them out of the fucking park.)

And if you pay attention to the timeline of events in moonkitti's video, Bramble was already abusive before he was possessed. Yes, he got strikingly worse when he got possessed, but less abuse is still abuse. Whether or not you believe Bramble WOULD commit the actions he did is irrelevant,because he did. Thats what happened on the page and you have to face that no matter how much you love your wittle bwambystaw. Yes! People get on her for being bratty, but like..isn't every kid bratty at some point? Plus, she was in her full right to reject Ashfur. She just didn't love him. And if you read the book again, she literally friendzones him in the calmest way possible. And lying about being a mother? That was a good choice. I mean, yeah, it lead her into deep trouble, but she did it to protect Leafpool. She put Leafpool's reputation before her own. That is bravery. But of course, Ashfur is the character in the right because "he's relatable!!!!!" ...yes, I'm sure trying to kill off 4 cats is VERY relatable.

Warrior cats fans are like Sonic the Hedgehog fans, it's come to a point in the franchise where the fans are clearly better at making work for the series than the current people working on it are, and at this rate they just need to hire their fans! So many OG warriors animators in this, all so talented. by far one of the most incredible and cohesive examples of what the WC community is capable of. 8 minutes of eye candy, seriously, even years later. Again, I don't think I would even want an official animation of Warriors without fans being involved. Videos like this set the bar up high, and with this supposed Warriors movie being stuck in production hell, I'm not holding my breath that we can exceed the incredible work you guys have done. I hope some of you can take inspiration and create your own series, you're all so incredibly capable. ❤

I do like some of it, but it’s definitely not up to par with my expectations . But, on a more serious note, this was absolutely stunning. And I am sure that there are others besides me who support your decisions, despite what most people "want". I'm glad you had friends who banded together to help you finish this, but I'm NOT glad that you were forced into doing so. I was one of the first to watch the prank MAP and, quite honestly, I really liked it. Because, instead of just saying, "I'm sorry guys, it's canceled", you actually made it into a prank, something that was very April-first-y. And I liked it. I saw a lot of the hate you got. And it was stupid -IS stupid- that people would attack you like that. They have absolutely no motherFUCKING right because you have a goddamn life, unlike those fucking ten-year-olds, and- (Legit taking deep breaths as I type this) My sincerest apologies. For some reason, this is my 1000th time watching it this month (literally) Because at 4:56 , you really feel the chills this part gives you because you remeber all the strong feelings starting from this scene when you first read it, and just looking back at it reminds you of how far you've gone with the chracters and the lore of the Warrior Cats series. It makes you feel some pretty strong nostalgia.

I'd like to enjoy this, but it's honestly hard for me to knowing you were somewhat forced into finishing it. Don't get me wrong, it was a terrific idea, and every part in this was so beautifully made, it's hard to even give it bad remarks, nearly impossible actually. Although I do want you to know, we, your good fans, understand why you're not doing anymore MAP's. Although it's sad to hear, I will be expecting some more amazing projects from you!! ❤️. I hope you're able to recover from that terrible time period, and am sorry you had to go through it, whatever it may be. Other than that, fantastic MAP everyone, very well done ^^.
KyroCakex same! I wasn't part of the initial excitement but I was shocked to see how many people pretty much turned on her when they realized it wasn't happening. People didn't even want to understand what she might have been going through but I hope that after this Rea can get even a tiny bit of closure and satisfaction

I did not know that people attacked you for the April fools joke. I thought it was amazing lmao. But I love how you finished this Edit: I went back to the original joke MAP and the comments were awful. I bet nobody gave a rats ass about "the animators" they just wanted to see the final product. Also it seems that people were being very selfish with the whole, "I'm very disappointed" and "Why didnt you give it to some one else!?1!?1!1?" Like, for real? Even thought I only know this from post but 3 years in the making?? People think that just because they've been waiting for something that they are entitled to that. Its just like the whole Incredibles 2 crud. Humanity has a 70-30 love hate relationship with me tbh
