Im a total metalhead most of the time, but this song and "Joyride" are always welcome on any of my music playlists. I was fortunate enough to grow up with jems like this.
1977 baby like me? 🎉🥳 47 this year in May and decided to go on a flash back of bands I’ve loved over the years.. Roxette is definitely one of them… listening to these again I’m reminded why 😍
1978,45 years lady today i still have so many greatfull memories at 90s .My favourite group i will never forget them........love and kisses 😘 from my country Greece 🇬🇷❤️🇬🇷🇬🇷❤️❤️❤️
Lol! I'll be 47 in a month. And this gets cranked in the summer goin down the road. A guy that likes bass. Used to be in SPL competitions...I still remember this in my car. 🤟🤟🤟
What makes the "purity" of 80's music that much greater than, say, the 90's? Truthfully, whatever era you grew up with will be what you find to be most magic and special. You'd have people saying the exact same thing about the 50's, 60's, 70's, 90's, 00's ect.
@@OklahomaBoomer Obviously there are exceptions, but for the most part, whatever era of music you listened to whilst growing up will be the era of music which you perceive to be the most special and magical.
It really is the most unique of modern time the sound of the 80s .. it was different but it was cool with the time I was just a young kid I was born in 82 so I vaguely remember it
Thank you Roxette for all the amazing tunes you gave us over the years! RIP Marie. You will forever be missed and will never be replaced. You are a legend.
The sound of the eighties and early nighties right here... So many hits and so much talent. Rest in peace Marie.. Your voice will be heard for decades.
@@andykroy8170 Marie fredriksson was such a talented singer with a very good voice and also a musical legend . And now she is having her joyride in heaven with the angels.Well all the best for now and take care. From Dorian.P.S: don't forget to write back to me soon.
it was 1989 and a band came along that no other band could process emotion into their music. 34 years later this music is still in my blood. R.I.P. lovely Marie
I can't believe that such songs used to be on the charts and you could listen to them every day on every radio station. Plus, MTV was your usual go-to TV station if you also liked music videos. Jesus, what happened to music over the last 30+ years? F***, I'm old ;/
This song instantly transports me back to my early teens and all the excitement, that came with it! That first kiss, touch, boyfriend and all the silliness too! It is amazing how you thought every embarrassment, mistake, was world ending. And yet, the excitement of it all was intoxicating! Awe, to be young again! If you're young, enjoy it! Soon you'll be my age and wondering where the time went!
Lily Cavanagh Every song of Roxette is smash Hit!!! Best people are always taken too soon. Rip Marie! We will always remember you and your amazing voice and songs!
The summer of 1989, it was constantly playing on the radio, they took me to the army, this song was forever burned into my heart, it was a beautiful summer, we were young...🙂
Toto Cutugno - L'italiano(1983),Kim Wilde - You Keep Me Hangin' On(1986),Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters(1984),Arabesque - Midnight Dancer(1980),Sabrina - Boys(1987),Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry,Be Happy(1988),Opus - Live Is Life(1985),Ottawan - Hands Up(1981) и так далее.
I was 10 years old when this song blew up. And boy did it. This song should be the first definition behind 'staying power' because it's immediately catchy and infectious the more times you listen to it. It's one of those songs that when it comes on, you leave your radio on the station until it's over. Absolutely wonderful song!
its one of those song that even though it just turned on and you've pulled into your driveway, or the parking space at work, you stay just to listen it out
When an American exchange student came home from Sweden to Minneapolis and brought this cassette to a local FM station, he changed the course of pop music history for the better.
Good evening. I enjoyed music from the late 80s and grew up in the 90s. Today, just an hour or so ago, watching a reel on FB I just found out about this story. Definitely, incredible! When things have to happen, they happen. It is almost always inevitable. What year exactly did the young deliver the cassette to the Minneapolis radio station? I thank you in advance for his response. Blessings to ALL from South America! Joe.
Yes, The song that made KDWB famous. I was at the only show they did at the Orpheum theatre in Minneapolis. Saw Gordon Lightfoot there as well. Now this song plays on KQQL (Kool 108) in Minneapolis.
I’m 31, and feel like I got a taste of living in the 80s because of my mom and dad, and my uncle. I’d give anything to have been lucky enough to grow up the way they did. Life truly was different in the 80s and 90s. There was such a magic and hope to everything. It’s like people have just given up caring about anything in today’s world, no matter what area of life. No one’s saying it was perfect, but you can hear in songs like this that little gleam of excitement for life.
You're so so right Andrew. I left school in 87 and those teen years such brilliant 😊music like this. Life was simpler in every way in the 80s .I so so wish I had a time machine to go back there. Now no one cares. Example of this you can't even get a doctor appointment. All the cost of living stress for many need I go on?, Take me back 😢
there is truth to this. there was a split in the worlds/consciousness. i'm not sure which. but after 9/11 the split occurred. we are in the Controlled Earth realm for some reason. the others are in the Free Earth version somehow.
I was born in 1980, so I’m 44. I’m into a whole ocean of music! If I try to list here, I’ll probably type an epilogue! My Quora bio contains music that I add to it now and then when I’m motivated enough, I think I use it a bit much! :•)
I was born in 83, so ~9yrs older than you, and I can say it was pretty amazing. My stepdad was a morning DJ for a pop hits station, and we got all the demo albums, CDs, and cassettes (yes, there were CDs back then). This is the music I'm playing for my kids, 9 and 2, and they love it!
In memory of Marie Fredriksson... I remember the first time I saw the look music video in 1990.I couldn't take my eyes off the music video when I saw it at the Seoul Chong-ro bookstore record Corner. She also visited Korea and appeared on a radio music program. She was a beautiful and wonderful singer.
I'm a confirmed heavy metal nut yet I will drop everything and stop to listen to these guys. Just shows what a huge impact and appeal they and their music have always had xx
The guitar work in this song is absolutely impeccable is why. Its just an incredible riff and that tone just cuts through. Im a metal nut as well but love me excellent pop-rock.
I'm an old school guy who can't stand the music these days. In the 1980,s memories of this song was a big hit. And many others but it is all about the words. That tell you the story.🙈🙉🙊
