There is nothing better than a bunch of these old Country music guys and gals sitting around reminiscing about life coming up on the road. Like that group with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson there may have been a couple more. You get them talking and you can hear the story-teller that each is.

The comic banter between Roy and the other great legends here is so typical of the lack of self-importance and entitlement which characterized so many stars on the country scene. It is all done in such an effortless and unpretentious way that you can only warm to the star-studded crowd featured in this video. Roy as usual displays sheer star-quality and gives us an enjoyable performance of one of his classic tunes. Another spot-on reaction/rating, Don, and keep rockin' dat country.

As an entertainer, Roy is tops. His timing and delivery are impeccable. When he starts talking, you think he is a hic and is never going to say anything of substance, then he comes out with his punch line and it all just comes together, and you can't help but admire his precision and wit. You know it is coming, but you still hang on his every word and appreciate it. He is missed.

This series of Country Roads is wonderful. What is sad is that so many I see are gone. Roy was a great entertainer and fabulous guitar player. He deserves a 10. We had one or two great country radio stations in NJ (of all places), and one was always on. Are you familiar with Ralph Emery, a radio disc jockey from Nashville? When the Nashville Network , TNN, first came on, Ralph did an hour and a half show, 5 days a week. I saw everybody there was in country music. He had them all on.

I got to rub shoulders and play Mandolin with Roy Clark and Roy Clark Jr. In 1987, I went to OVC JR College, which is no exists. I got to play with Roy Jr. my first year in college. I always thought Roy Sr's antics were a hoot, both on and off stage. Great job with the song pick. And yes it was true he could play anything you put in his hands, even wind instruments.

This is the best. It reminds me of family gatherings we had in the 60's and 70's. Everyone brought their instruments and we sang what we knew. Fond memories of my dad who helped me love traditional country music. If I close my eyes, I can put myself back in truck with him. It still makes me feel safe. I guess that is what a great parent does and continues to do even after they are gone. Thanks for this great memory at 2am. This Is A 10!!!

My mother's family was from Tennessee, and listening to the banter before the show was, for me, like being at a family reunion. The entire Country Family Reunion series (the show in this video) is just as good in every episode. Many, Many true legends. I started realizing with the passage of each episode just how many performers had actually passed away. It's 8/1/22 as I write this and over half the people shown in this video are now gone, including Roy Clark. I had the great fortune of meeting him in person in Toronto in 1997. I love it when a person reviews a great song and it's the 1st time they're hearing it. I agree with you 100%.

He mentioned picking cotton. I think some folks have requested it before but I'll add Roy Clark "I never picked cotton" I've always loved this song for the humor twist. You're all drawn into this sad overbearing life situation then he busts out the THANK GOD... loved this choice of performance. I don't normally think about humor country as a "10" and there is a lot of humor country out there. There is even a name for the humorous slightly suggestive country. I could be wrong but I think they call it Hokum???? Somebody else will know. I hope. You could almost do a whole channel on country humor songs. There I would give it a 10. Overall country as a whole it's still over 9.8......greart video . Thanks Don and Dave.
