Man I’m never joining the mafia, imagine you’ve demonstrated to the police you’re not going to talk, everyone close to you knows your character and knows you won’t talk…but the guys you’ve been loyal to your whole life decide you gotta die just incase. F that.
Yeah, that is BS and it happened a lot. I doubt they mention that in the ceremony of getting made that even though you've been loyal, you're going to probably get whacked just in case. Just the paranoia and stress doesn't seem worth it. Too many nutcases get made, and now you are forced to associate with fellow members even if you don't like or trust them. It's not an organic circle of friends you make in a regular society. Being stuck in the company of a guy like Roy Demeo would suck. Loyalty gets thrown out the window when money is involved. Money is their god.
Yep, if you can survive the mafia without having PTSD, then you are lucky or have no fear and empathy. I cannot believe some fathers bring their sons into the mafia, living on a knife edge that will 99% get them killed or sent to prison for most of their life. Not what I would wish for anyone I care about.
@LORDSTRISH-PSN His character is in WITNESS To The MOB. Abe Vigoda is Paul Castellano. The film is based on the book Underboss, and the Sammy the Bull character is the central figure. Tim Sizemore (RIP) plays a very good John Gotti. He was not as good as Armand Assante was, but he did a very good job. There are several scenes with Bilotti in it, and he has dialogue with Paul.
He'd be a serial you know what (youtube doesn't like the k word). Like any of the others you see documentaries about. the only thing is his connection to the mob
Yeah have seen it, a decent film but focuses more on Kuklinski than DeMeo and crew, found a decent film last month called The Inside Man focuses on DeMeo
Forgot to mention about the college kid who was chased and gunned down by demeo during the cuban crisis simply because his paranoia grew and thought the college kid was a cuban gangster seeking revenge.
Probably never. Scorsesse was once asked if he'd ever make a movie about roy and his answer was an emphatic "no, never" because the roy's crimes were too grotesque and the people he surrounded himself with weren't interesting enough too be turned into movie characters.
I grew up on Long Island around a large family of not made men but "connected" men, all i gotta safe it was a safe place. I don't agree with their ways but their children were my best friends. They couldn't be made because of half Irish blood my family is Irish. It wasn't talked about but there are made men all across Long Island. My 3rd cousin was Mayor James Walker of NYC 1926-1932. grew up in Suffolk County. Im 61 now so it was in the high times for them. My best to all you people out there reading this.
If the Gemini lounge was in Britain, they would have tore it down. Have done with several similar houses. Only in America could it be turned into a church! 😂
Alot of the time they do john wayne gacy and btk house they tore down, a few I have seen. I don't know deal with the property Gemini lounge was on or who owned it. Unlike those houses maybe because its connected to other buildings. Whoever bought it tho is the 1 who made it into a church which is ironic I always thought to
@tjrizzo1619 yep. They were sentenced at a time when a life sentence pretty much 30 years. Henry borelli who was only found guilty of car theft but was given 15 years for each count(150 years), he's still in prison because it wasn't a "life" sentence.
@@ryancastner1407 There's a lot of credulous people who absolutely believe kuklinsky's fantasies are true despite the obvious fact that nothing was ever confirmed and all of the big bosses laughed when they were asked about his claims.
Right, from all accounts Roy, Anthony Senter and Joey Testa use to abuse him.. they also say he was being extorted by Demeo in the pornograohy business and he once walked n the Gemini Lounge to purchase a gun. I think he idolized Demeo for some reason.
@@ryancastner1407Of course they do ,you got sheeple that'll believe anything they see or here on Facebook let alone the news media, same type of fruitloop that votes for Biden 🤡 😅
If u haven’t seen the documentary Dominik Montiglio The Lynch Pin Of Bensonhurst I highly suggest u do. Talks about the Demeo crew among other stuff. Its one of the best documentaries Ive seen in a while. Better than most mob movies
How does a street-hustling guy from Brooklyn's Flatlands gets to the top of one of Manhattan's banks?? The connections - the REACH these people had back then were unbelievable. He basically "emptied" the whole bank's capital and made it in such a way, that no one even dared to snitch on him - I'm guessing they had ALL their "fingers in the pie", so nobody could recognize him (couldn't or WOULDN'T given they would be basically pointing their fingers at themselves, too!) ...and then he simply walked away! ...like it was nothing!?... PS. By that time he didn't even develop his "reputation" yet... He probably simply "slipped right through" the fingers, right under the Feds "ever-watching eye", even the ones of the most efficient and ruthless Fed-agency - not the FBI, nor ATF or DEA ...but the IRS! 😄 ...the biggest gangsters around!...
Mom and Dad used to mention "Tom and Roy DiMAYO" in reference to Dad's business deal with a muffler place. Never met them but the way they said their names told me a lot. I love how YT reveals my family was mobbed up and that's why I went to prep schools.
Roy came from a good family, too; one uncle an asst. DA, another a medical examiner, daughter a doctor and Yale grad, son a stockbroker, hardworking parents ... somewhere he took a wrong turn.
In my opinion, it's just being born American. The people aren't right in the head there, thanks to their culture who is militant and discourages any kind of independent thinking, especially today, so this society produces extremists, you never see anyone balanced, a healthy mind, and they appear to be completely ignorant of it. It's why there's so many serial killers and truly twisted individuals with countless people cheering them on. He's basically a poster child of the culture in a different era. The title 'Greatest Mafia Boss' says it all. This culture is like wild animals in the jungle competing and pretending to be religious while worshipping, celebrating and encouraging the worst parts of humanity.
In the book murder machine they touch on the car deal each year in New York 90,000 cars were stolen they were shipping thousands are year but not each week
sadly the cops were in on it ivthink that's why feds had to move in. as mafia guys always said feds are beyond corruption. and really squeaky clean. while ny finest were always known to be bribed and something to do with the unions.
Came from a good family too thats another reason why Demeo is such an interesting case. No one will ever really know what led to him becoming a complete sociopath. Drugs obviously played a part but that cant be all of it.
INSIDE MAN is one, and GEMINI LOUNGE is another. Both came out in 2023. I haven't seen them yet. Also, the film, ICEMAN, has scenes with DeMeo character but more with Nino Gaggi.
I've been wanting to see a movie about DeMeo forever. I have never seen one and i can't understand why thi guy isn't more popular than people like Gotti with all the people him and his crew killed and how brutal he was. The most popular mobsters that we know of were all afraid of this guy.
I think Abe Reles and his crew would have thought twice about going after Roy , Joey and Anthony. Any time Piza was ordered by this crew you know some poor git was hanging upside down over a bath and soon to be dispatched in pieces to the local refuse site.
@@coadyyoung335 Yes, I guess he was, he played Roy,...but Real Mobsters and the NYPD Detectives will tell you that Kuklinski (the Iceman) had NO relationship with Kuklinski. Kuklinski was shown to be a huge liar!
@@marcneuman7789 They have had sons. In Rome you can read all their names just in a block, the names of di Teo, cammarano, castellano, Alfano, bureca, greco, ecc. ecc.and in Italy no one knows that these are still nowadays usa mobster families. In Italy for maphia they speak about others names, but these are the rights ones, names linked with American maphia. In 2013 They wash milions and milions euros by Unicredit bank.
@@marcneuman7789 They are connected, and this is the big secret. Italy had a minister, Angelino alfano, relative of Badalamenti, the center of drug traffic in 80th, when Usa did the Pizza connection enquiry.
The mob is a cannibal turning on itself every step of the way. Imagine the other bosses voting to take out Paul while other members of the family knew and went along with it yet he was thinking he's untouchable.
I grew up with Roy. Roy was a friend of ours. Roy did a lot of work. But Katz broke da rules. He had to go. Roy usually worked clean. Katz work was sloppy. Roy got there late. But Roy took pride in his craft, not like the mulyons today. And he loved a good sausage pie well done extra cheese from DeFaro's afterwards.
That's hilarious, at 14:35, that guy is talking about someone wanting high end cars like Jaguar, Cadillac, Porsche, and they're showing that old 4 door piece of crap red Chevy Impala? that's funny.
