Roy is a great musician and now sadly missed. I love his playing and his energy that he and his band bring to every performance and I celebrate his music! Thank you Roy, we miss you.......
29:05 , this is the best version of "how i Know" everything blends in like smooth Flow. RIP to Roy, i wish at this time this video was made, i was on the level and mind frame of enjoying beautiful music 🎶 like what you and the team were making. Very much appreciated Sir
I love Roy and have many great memories (and private recordings) of his gigs. But I cry whenever I watch him in videos. Such an incredible loss for all of us with ears.
How come the audience stayed sit on its chair? This I can’t figure out. I would have liked to be there that day. To dance and sing with my lovely Roy, Renée and all the joyfull factor band. I miss you so much Roy, Renée. Music bless your souls.
Oh, wow, at first you're like 'that alto player is o.k.', but then all of a sudden he opens up and you just have to look again, if it's still the same dude playin', before you whisper "wow.". But everyone on that stage is great, damn. Dig it.
Doin' that Kenny Garrett tease thing. Won't give it up and give it all to you til you settle in and check out his basic vocabulary first.. Schlechtwetter- Spiel- Plazt.? Sounds like a good name for Frankfort from Nov. bis uhhhh ...Nov.. meistens.. Aber dieses Jahr, nicht so schlecht. Your drummer need to study the funk a bit and practice with a metronome. Not really laying it down solid. Ouch. owaa . Es tud weh.
Have so loved Hargrove's "straight" jazz efforts, recordings of things like "Ruby, My Dear" by Monk and the like that are so bold and beautiful in that traditional way that I have unfortunately sometimes seen his "crossover" efforts as interesting side projects. But hearing him work his way through this set with these extraordinary musicians, coming to the full Parliament-funkadelic experience as naturally as any of his other "standards" makes me realize I have much more to enjoy from a musician who has already inspired me. He is missed, surely.
Roy you are and will be one of the greatest musicians and performer of all times. We miss you and thank you deeply for the inmense good you left us. Blessings brother!
