@@timeisontheessencethey came away with a good point at a place they lost 7-0 at last season. It was up to Liverpool to break them down and they failed to do so.
I’m an Arsenal fan and that was the only way Man Utd could approach the game to have a chance of getting a result. They could have won it so it was a good game plan. A draw at Anfield is of course a good result for them
They won those a very long time ago. Since the prem began utd city Chelsea and arsenal have won the prem more times then Liverpool. Blackburn and Leicester even won it before Liverpool.
@@johnpaulosullivan432 utd and liverpool are miles ahead of those other clubs in terms of size and influence. city and liverpool for example is like comparing lecce with an arab owner against juventus or ac milan. chelsea and arsenal are napoli and roma equivalents
As a Liverpool fan I admire Keane for his leadership even now after all these years, true example of strong opinions and spirit and desire to stand behind his team to the end of days.
You make it sound like he backs united know matter what. He doesn't he always gives his honest opinion as he should as a pundit he gives plenty of criticism on united. And he's right one title in 31 years😂
sorry but no, no Liverpool side, not even under hodgson or evans, have we ever gone to old trafford and stunk it out as much as that to scrape a point, it was anti football. should be ashamed of themselves, selling your soul for a point!
Roy's got a point here, I can understand VVD's disappointment at dropping points but instead of deflecting his teams inadequacies he should have said something like"we need to be more clinical if we want to win". A captain doesn't hide from criticising his own players, Roy understands this.
I get his point but every time he gets annoyed with a Liverpool player be it current or ex, he always reverts back to the club winning 1 league trophy in 30 years narrative which i don’t get; what has VVD got to do with that? He came and ended the streak so why is it still 30 years not 4/5 (since 2019), it’s a new era and his history isn’t of 30 years but the 5/6 years he’s been at the club
@@tshelby9808But the weight of history is still on the shoulders of the players at Liverpool and if its not, it should be. It was predictable as to how Man U, a team in crises, would set up today and Liverpool needed to be good enough, but came up short. That should be VVD only concern. Liverpool pay his incredible wages, not Man U.
Gursntee you didn’t even watch the van dijk interview because he literally talked about Liverpool not being clinical enough and not making the right decisions.
@@gerd5479 i agree with the fact that VVD should focus solely on Liverpool and take full accountability, my reply was only that of confusion towards Roy’s comments and i hear what you’re saying but i still don’t think it’s fair to hold current players who have won the league as of recent to the last 30 plus years…if Liverpool go on to win 2 league titles in the next 5 seasons, what will the narrative be then? 3 league titles in 38 years? Is that fair to say or does it make more sense to say 3 in 10 for example? Judge the players on their current history
On November the 25th, none of the City players said they were really disappointed that they came out with only 1 point playing against a team like that.
That's the part that seriously ticked me off about Virgil's post match interview: "...we want to win every game, especially playing with a team like that." The arrogance is just beyond me. The brother has 1 Premier League title... Last year Man United beat serial PL winners in controversial fashion, but none of those players disrespected us like that.
Van Dijk was clearly frustrated with how Liverpool bottled it today when they should have comfortably won. But Keane's right, he should have only spoke about Liverpool's shortcomings instead of having a cheap snidey dig at Utd, it's not our fault you fluffed your lines. We know we're crap at the moment and doing our best to not get beaten by better teams right now so yeah, we're pretty pleased with taking a point at Anfield after getting battered so often there lately. VVD and the rest of the Liverpool squad should focus on themselves as they won't keep up with Arsenal if they carry on playing like they did today
As an LFC fan I completely agree. Blaming the opponent for not giving you chances is ridiculous, it's your job to deal with it and we didn't today. I agree with Sturridge through, it's frustration rather than arrogance that fueled Virgil's comments.
@@addieTy9420 I agree, based on performances this season we are higher in the PL than we would be in any normal year. Saying that we are still a lot better than we showed today and far better than MU based on what I saw from them.
I agree with Roy and I’m not a utd or Liverpool fan, during the klopp era. Klopp or his players have insulted teams who sat deep against them as if they were supposed to play the way that suited Liverpools strengths.
I love Roy. Because he left Utd under a cloud he can sometimes be critical but you can see his passion here. Especially when it comes to the scousers. God bless you Roy. You'll always be my captain.
As a Mumbai City fan who supports Arsenal, I honestly watched the first half in glee hoping for a demolition job, but fairplay to United for making it tight and compact and having 10 men behind the ball. They've made 2000s Stoke City and the watching Fergie proud.
Big result for a struggling United (as I expected them to lose based on recent past results). Going to a place where they got hammered 7-0 last year and come back with a point is a massive result. Liverpool had so many chances to finish off United but they never really troubled Onana other than 1 or 2 great saves. I am not saying that United is on the up as they need to get a good run otherwise this result is a waste. But good to see United not getting beaten at Liverpool's turf.
Keane would literally have the same attitude 15 year ago. Keano being a sook about VVD being a sook is just a sookfest. (Keano never said fair play) As far as Onano making great saves, total nonsense. If I was a Manure fan I'd be frustrated by the fact that Onano has an obsession with making straight forwars saves look spectacular. ie. VVD's header that went straight at him which led to an over dramatic save when it was a simple tap over for a pro keeper.
United came with a game plan and executed it perfectly and could’ve honestly sneaked it with a goal at the end. So kudos to the players for sticking with the game plan and trusting their manager and team mates. And yes; I agree with Roy. VVD should be criticizing he’s team mates for not finding a way to win the game despite united playing method
I guess he was trying to deflect criticism from his own teams inadequacies but probably didn't need to lay it on so thick... Roy's right though. As usual.
Since Klopp has been in charge Liverpool has never broken down a low block team. I'm a Liverpool supporter and I wish at times Klopp would be more adventurous with his tactics.
He loves Man Utd but is just ashamed of what has happened to them over the years because he knows deep down they can do so much better. He loves the club forever.
Honestly as a Liverpool fan I agree with Roy, I did think this would be a tough game but everyone else thought it would be a demolition of 4 or 5 gosls
@@AshleyClarkey almost 40 shots is as good as 400 when only 9 are on target! What you dippers going to do for goals when Salah goes? Don't see noodles scoring 25 each season.

@@zevlove612tbf that’s a bit of the media scousers fault. I have not watched much of Liverpool this year, but all the media have been banging on about how Liverpool are genuine contenders this year.
I knew it would be no demolition. The ManU defense has been good this season. Without Bruno, they have a painfully unreliable offense. So ETH did the obvious thing and parked the bus. That is not a criticism. I am just pointing out those who thought this would be a blow out were not thinking things through from ETH's point of view.
How so? ManU spent the majority of the match in the own half. Whenever Liverpool created a chance, you'd see at least 7 of United's men in their own box at all times. Just seemed to me like their entire plan wasn't to win the game, but to just stop Liverpool from scoring. As VVD said; they weren't there to win, and I can understand why that can be frustrating for a team who needed that win to remain at the top of the table.
@@THE_NETWORKbut arguably our best team was wiped out by a plane crash? What if the Munich air disaster hadn’t have happened, we’d have probably 5 or 6 European titles.

tbf liverpool lost the league with a a ridiculous points tally twice, both times with more points than any roy keane team or even ferguson team in history.
@CamoDrako ah so ref incorrectly awards a throw in then couldn't take it that he made a mistake and books Dalot twice in 10 seconds for rightly being passionate in a Derby? You must think players are robots and refs should be overprotected.
As a Liverpool fan Roy Keane is absolutely spot on. I've been saying if Liverpool keep playing the way the are they won't get that last minute Goal. They need to be better Nunez needs to be better and the Whole Team.
I’d be as annoyed as some of these Liverpool fans if my team couldn’t beat a team with an 18 year old in CM that has played about 5 league games and a 37 year old CB 😂
As an LFC fan I totally agree with Roy here, I think the whole team has an air of arrogance about it, they thought this would be a given so its also complacency. We also do it with teams lower down the table. This is why we wont win the league imo
Since Klopp arrived Liverpool haven't yet broken down a low block team. I'm a Liverpool supporter but at times I wish Klopp would be more adventurous with his tactics. This Liverpool side is quite different from last season so although there may have been some complacency some lads should have given more as it's their first game in PL experiencing England's biggest rivalry. Much of the blame has to go down on the management. Even at half time the players should have been reminded what type of game this is. You can say Liverpool were arrogant I reckon Liverpool genuinely snuggled to open up United defence because they always struggle against low blocks and it's something that needs addressing.
@stephenalex4345 United literally had 1 big chance to get a goal, while we had like 4-5. They parked the bus from the beginning and it made it difficult for us to score. United never planned on winning and it's clear. I can admit we didn't play well, but our forwards were out of form and it needs desperate improving. We'll be back.
@@brandonnel69054-5…. I don’t know what game you were watching. I remember us having one with diaz but outside of that there weren’t really any more clear cut chances for me. We were really quite poor. Endo was our only decent performance out of the midfield and forwards
Roy Keane is so confident and never afraid to air his opinion. What a match so bad Manchester United drew the match. Btw who trades the financial market? Been wanting to hop in the financial market and purchase some sport related stocks.
I prefer to trade based on the volatility of the market. I also make use of good indicators to help break out of false entries. Although it wasn’t easy until I came across a good mentor that helped to keep me in the market loop. My mentor is Bernard Paul.
Bernard Paul? I’m conversant with him. He’s been really helpful.Paul’s ability to stay composed during volatile market periods has earned him a reputation for resilience. He also helped me to balance my emotions when trading to stay calm and make the right decisions
The onus was on Liverpool to find a way to win the game. Everybody knows that Utd are currently way off from winning league titles. Liverpool were considered strong favourites going into the game. It shouldn't be about how Utd performed or how they were set up etc, the game finished 0 Vs 0 because Liverpool could not find a way to score goals and win the game. That's all down to Liverpool and NOT Utd. ⚽🤔🕺
United defended very well. Varane and Dalot especially. Stopped a lot of efforts from Liverpool. Credit where credit is due - non-existent attack (like all season) from United but they did defend well.
Keano’s right, they expected to hammer United, so did most people and it didn’t happen. Maybe he should be looking at his own teammates and their failure to capitalise on chances and be disappointed that they didn’t take all 3 points instead of deflecting.
@@cockywatchman1976 No Keane was spot on. VVD needs to blame the absolutely embarrassing finishing by the Liverpool players for not getting a win at home against essentially a United B team. Trent booting the ball out and losing possession 34 times, VVD missing a free header from 6 yards, Salah shooting from ridiculous angles. Instead of moaning that United played on the back foot defensively, whilest having 8 first team players missing, VVD needs to look at how poor Liverpool were.
He starts off mildly irritated & as he's talking, works himself up! For a minute there, I thought he was gonna go to a full-blown 'Mick McCarthy Level Event'. 🤣
Problem here is liverpool didn't do what they supposed to do for the pundits and journalists liverpool had about 4 to 5 forwards to put the nall in the net but couldn't get it in

Liverpool have no one but themselves to blame, they had the opportunities and didn’t take them. This wasn’t like they were completely shut out, they had the space to create the chances and they didn’t take them.
I get what Roy's saying. Van Dijk needs to be talking about his own team and how they couldn't score or make a difference in the game. He doesn't have to mention United at all in his post match interview because it was Liverpool's game to win and everyone knew that.
He mentioned both, in his post match interview. He specifically talks about how they should’ve done better. He just pointed out that man United came to defend first. Everyone’s being a bit precious. Roy would’ve made plenty of those interviews after a match over his career.
@conors4430 Roy's point was that his team earned the right to say those kinds of things; he won 7 PLs, a CL and 4 FA Cups in 10 seasons. He won't hear it from the captain of a team that has won one league title in 33 years.
@@rolanddeschain588 As Roy put, 1 league title in 30 years, 1 CL and one or two other smaller cups while finishing below United as many times as he has above United is not enough to make this point.
No idea why Keane was so rattled? He admitted himself (3:05) that before the game Man Utd would have been "delighted" with a draw and Liverpool would be "disappointed"... that's exactly what Van Dijk said!? 🤷♂️
Because he was being disrespectful, he was blaming the way United set up for liverpool not winning rather than taking some accountability for the chances they missed. The fact that yes United would have been delighted with a draw has nothing to do with what VVD said or what Roy Keanes point was
That’s a Captain right there. Im sick & tired of my club being disrespected. We need people like this at the club. We lost our sprite when Sir Alex retired
I agree. As a newer pundit against more of a veteran and you disagree I was more interested in how he handled it and he did a good job, didn't interrupt, listened and articulated his responses well.
Typical response from Liverpool - "they didn't let us play the way we wanted to play so we angry at them" - we've seen it with Klopp a few times, it's football, when you're the favourites, teams will do what they need to do to get points 😂
Wait.. isn't the whole point of football not to let the opponent play the way they want? If we are going down that route... Man Utd should be angry at Liverpool for not letting them score a few goals as well!!!

Did Man Utd play like that against Man City where 9 of the same players played against them and got beat 3-0. As a Liverpool fan, I find it frustrating when a team plays to win against our rivals but plays to only draw against us. We lost titles because teams flip their approach just for us.
I remember when Barcelona used to say that anyone who got a draw against them was 'anti-football' with a bit of a 'holier than thou' kind of attitude. Used to annoy me a lot, for very similar reasons to Roy.
United knew that their only best approach to get a good result than previours years against Liverpool , they would need to play it this way. Sturridge made a valid point. He was emphasising on the frustration that Liverpool went through that it was disappointing to get a result based on their dominance in the game.
But van dijk was not part of liverpool for this amount of years. Van dijk came and liverpool got better and start winning trophies and was part of the 7-0 against utd
Im an Arsenal fan and agree with Roy. That was a diss, when I reality regardless off how United played they got a result away from home while being in bad form and missing players. VVD is just being Sassy 😂
Utd need to take the diss and get gud. They’re shite. I’m also a gooner. Roy can’t cancel this diss because it hurts his feelings. Utd have a huge wage bill and they parked the bus because shite and Liverpool fans know this and are dissing them for it.
Liverpool just get upset when other teams try and defend against them even when they lose they try and claim the moral victory of having more speculative shots.
Why would utd go toe to toe with liverpool we have a terrible squad a manager one bad loss away from the sack playing away to a team that put 7 past us are yous mad or what lol
Sturridge only *confirmed* Keanos point was right, if it was about him being disappointed with his own team thats what he would have said in the interview solely. Truth is Liverpool are *buzzing* to be in the title race for once, and thought we'd come and gift them 3 points towards it.
@@buchiaduba1523you clearly didn’t listen to a word he said pal. Roy Keane is right. Yes it’s frustrating not to win. But given the amount of chances, you do not go blaming the other team for your own wasteful of chances.

I would be interested to see how Roy would of reacted if Liverpool sat back against United at old Trafford and Bruno Fernandes came out and said “Liverpool didn’t come here win”
he would be digging him out, Keane needs no second invitation to have a go at Man Utd players for not winning (except Cristiano Ronaldo who could do no wrong in Keane’s eyes)
Man Roy Keane know exactly what Van Djik meant, bcos he knows exactly the emotion behind this fixture. Van Djik obviously took a shot at United when he said "only one team wanted to win" and "they are buzzing with a draw". Im glad we got a point, it feels even better to see how sour Van Djik is😂
No, Sturridge was right. He anslysed the current situation today absolutely correctly. It’s completely irrelevant that Liverpool only won one title in 32 years. VvD’s interview was about today and what Virgil said was spot-on. Keane cannot cope because he lives in United’s glory past.
1. He is hardly fuming. 2. Why does it matter that Liverpool didn't win the title in 30 years, when these players were not even born back then? Point is, they won one in four years and FC Alex Ferguson haven't in a decade. 3. VVD was frustrated and should not have said that, but it's hardly arrogance.
Roy Kean’s integrity bank is such a healthy state. Yes he has a go at the current United team for under performing, but he still loves the club and stands up for them when he perceives a slight. Like he is their captain. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
