My Mom passed away 30 yrs ago . This song was on the radio...and ya don't believe in God? HAPPY ANNIVERSAY..30 yrs in Heaven. I'll never say goodbye...LOVE YA ALWAYS!
You can't remember them you mean. He did a bunch of albums like Laminar Flow in 1979 that had zero hits and sold next to nothing. He was human like everyone.
It is true can belt any song you give him. This is my favorite song "Blue Angel." Brings back old memories of the late 50s and early 60s. Roy Orbison was fantastic!
Roy's voice is from heaven. No one could ever sing with the beauty and soul he had. Brings you to tears just to hear his lovely tone and unbelievable majesty of vocalization. Boggles any ones mind. God Bless him forever!
Why do you never hear this on the radio? Rarely played on the oldies stations, yet it is one of the best recordings ever made. Roy Orbison was the best pop singer ever !
Simply one of the greatest singers of rock and roll of all time, perhaps the greatest! His range, emotion and showmanship will never be duplicated. It is sad artists today can't even compare to this great man.
and what is even more amzing is, he does all that while looking like he is just chillin, no straing whatsoever. like he is not even trying hardly. every other singer you see hit that range, that power that viabrato always look like they need to put all theri body into it, and such strain in their face to hit that stuff. roy. is like, ok, hold my beer.
When I was 14 all the girls loved Elvis because he was so cute. I didn't think much of his singing compared to Roy's. I dreamed of growing up and marrying Roy. He melted my butter... still does.
Maybe the best concert ever. His incredible voice. His splendid timing and singing. His monumental musical ability. This beautiful perfect orchestra en those fine singers. We need nothing more. A great man, the best singer. His voice will survive us all till the end of times.
Elvis was asked who he thought was the best singer, He replied Roy Orbison...That was Elvis....Elvis was the King...They were both awesome....Love both of them...
Yes, multiple talented people are able to live on, and most likely be more famous and appreciated as time goes by, just amazing. As for myself, I can barely hum.
Roy"s voice is from heaven! God sent him here to show us his wonderful King of the Angels! This man was the greatest singer of all time! This concert shows us how really beautiful his songs and his stories of life were! Nobody will ever compare!!
LISTEN TO THIS, ovation at the end of the song, These people knew they were listening to a legend who could still hit the notes of a song he recorderd 28 years prior.[ 1960 i think he realeased "Blue Angel"] Simply Awsome...
Damn. I don't even believe in heaven but I was just fantasizing standing at the gate saying, can I please get some tickets to see Roy Orbison? Then I saw your reply. Something is happening here and it has something to do with Roy. Cheers and love to you James Patterson.
Heaven is a real place and One came from there to tell us "In my father's house are many mansions, and I go to prepare a place for you..." And if you're wondering about that place He also said," I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the father, except through me." (Bible, Book of John' chapter 14.). His name is Jesus. He is the one who said, "...whoever believes in me has eternal life." I didn't want to sound preachy but I did want all to know that you can know if you can get there.
@@higherresolution4490 Agree totally with you. I was lucky enough to see Roy perform live in the UK in the 1980's. It was such a great performance. At the end he had such an impact it was as if the audience were shell shocked, they could not believe it.
@@stanflint8957 I can only imagine how rare and inspriational your experience must have been. I like your description of the audiance seeming to be shell-shocked by the end of his performance. The sign Taurus rules the voice / throat / neck / vocal cords. And Roy was, indeed, born under that sign!
????? 173 " thumbs down " ???---------not possible . ------------This is vocal heaven ------------nothing faked------------& music royalty paying homage. KD Lang-------------Bonnie Raitt-----------Jennifer Warnes--------The Boss---------James Burton & Elvis Costello------I confess i do not know or recognize the 3 men singing backgrounds -------------but this is magic ; how can anyone give a " thumbs down " ?

i have listened in awe to Roy for decades. homely looks and voice of an angel. having grown up in south i have seen many surprises from the people of the south. some have a gentleness and artistry. recently i have had to come to terms with my own southerness. i grew up a yankee in the south really. a misfit. i watched as the whites leached off the backs of blacks, suppressing them, hurting them, categorizing them. and celebrating them. but all those sins of the white south are coming home to roost and i believe we are going to lose the south. nature is going to take her wrath and wash it all away. or burn it away. all those people! all those people. now when i listen to this magical voice and recognize the contours of his face in so many i have known, i lament for the good things that will be lost. but the price must be paid. and mother nature is relentless. many will come north and many will make a new life. but it will not be the same. the pride will die. and so it should. it is a pride built on callousness and lies. still i will miss texas and the south and their rowdy ways. and their spirit.
i'M SITTING HERE, BAWLING LIKE A BABY. MY ALL-TIME #1 BY THIS LEGENDARY MAN. ---------FALL OF '60. I WAS 14 Y/O, & I LISTENED TO THE RADIO ALL THE TIME. -------------------MJL, 76 Y/O

Sereno riposo
I have never hear anyone with so much of a genteel voice. My Grandmother totally loved this man and she told me he had a hard time when his wife passed away a woman he adored. No one can bring a tear to my eye like this man can a total genius
I listened to Roy Orbison's greatest hits on 8 track while driving to Mexico city from Sacramento in 1970. Still have the 8 track, but you tube is better! thanks-
One of the only singers that sound just as good live as they do in the studio I've been a huge fan since the mid 70s and still get the same feeling of excitement when one of his songs come on that I haven't heard in a while
Roy orvison era un hombre con un gran talento. Todas sus canciones son tan hermosas como su personalidad. Lastima que la gente no lo conozca. Yo lo encontre de casualidad.
Sha la la, dooby wah Dum dum dum, yeh yeh, um Sha la la, dooby wah Dum dum dum, yeh yeh um Oh blue angel, don't you cry Just because he said goodbye Oh, ahh ahh ahh No don't cry Oh blue angel, have no fear Brush away lonely teardrops Hey hey, whoa whoa Well love's precious flame can just burn in vain But you're not to blame You thought love was a game and it's oh such a shame But don't you cry, don't sigh, I'll tell you why I'll never say goodbye blue angel Sha la la, dooby wah Dum dum dum, yeh yeh, um Wah wah wah wah Dum dum dum dum dum dum We'll have lovin' so fine Magic moments divine If you'll just say you're mine I'll love you till the end of time Don't you worry your pretty head I'll never let you down I'll always be around Blue angel Sha la la, dooby wah Dum dum dum, yeh yeh, um Blue angel Sha la la
I have read where Elvis Presley was quoted as saying that Roy Orbison was the only singer he would never follow on stage. The lead guitarist in this song is James Burton who was the lead guitarist in Ricky Nelson's band and inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame in 2001.
