@SaraTGinMD on or off is referring to dip switches on the machine. When you play for high scores you have to use certain settings on the machine. The dip switches can vary the difficulty of a game, whether you can continue the game by inserting a quarter, when 1ups are given, etc.
That number at 100 rounds is awesome roy..My highest was 990k at 100 rounds . I dont think anybody can keep 2 cities as long as you can. Keeping 2 cities after 300 k is bloody hard work .
Just watched this video. Very interesting. I just looked at TG's website and Tony has a score from June of 2,363,895. Does anyone know if this was done with DIP #4 in the ON or OFF setting?

Watch it starting at time index 5:50 and ending at time index 6:00. See how easily he's moving the cursor around?

Steve Weibe SO doesn't want anything to do with Roy its hilarious. And Roy FINALLY admits on camera that he has no proof of his switch setting in 1985. And what part of "Player's Choice" doesn't he understand?
At time index 5:00 Walter actually calls Roy on the fact there is no physical proof that Roy played at the ON setting in 1985. I think Walter was actually pretty accomodating to him...perhaps even to a fault. I would say just play on the other setting and see what you can do. I would suggest Roy's legacy is such that it would be tarnished if he at least tried it.
Yikes, I think Roy distracted Steve and made him lose a life (time index 5:28)! Good thing Steve is so good-natured! As for having to pay to get in and the glare. It's like an NFL team who gets bad breaks with calls, etc...the best ones find a way to play past adversity. BTW, despite being cut off, you can clearly tell (time index 5:06) that Walter Day was going to report on scores done that day...so Roy saying his 816K was tracked to "harass" him is suspect at best.
When I saw King of Kong, I kind of felt bad for Roy... but after seeing a few more videos of Roy, outside of the context of the movie, I'm realizing just how much of an asshole and dicktard that he actually is. He deserves to have his Missile Command score taken down permanently, never to be considered again. He is so disrespectful, and plain crazy... not in the good way. Ugh.
This is bollocks... how can you put all the scores together with trackball settings at different settings?! You can't have Japanese version of Donkey Kong against the US version. And that's fine because they play differently. As does Missile Command with different trackball settings. Roy is completely justified with his complaints. Clicking on a score in a table only THEN to find that it was on a different setting is so wishy-washy. Sort it out Walter!
@bipper1 well no offense dude if you legitimately got a world record your being screwed for that probably makes you the best and you'd probably wannabe recognize for it. If you're the best you don't want to hear some other guy say their the best when you're better.
He's done alot better but they won't put up his score which they KNOW he did! What was Walter Day saying there - scores were put up wether on or off and back in the day many were unbknown but then hes says they wouldn't put his score up because they didn't know if it was on or off? Very strange..
@bipper1 Yes I can see someone getting pissed and carrying on for 25 years. To "you" it seems silly.....to him it would be as if he pitched the fastest ball ever recorded....only have the gun questioned and the reading can't be used.
@labtob I think the same if he is so good at Missile Command WHY.. Why has he not, played by Twin Galaxy's rules. And PLaYed The DAMM GAME AGAIN and SET a New SCORE... Grow Up ROY..
There are only 2 guys left in the entire universe who care who has the Missile command world record. I think Roy needs to blow up the last remaining 5 or 6 arcade machines and move on to a more creative, less sexually frustrating lifestyle. 0,0000000000000000001% of the population of an ant stack care who plays missile command. I've seen Roy play. All I can say is that I have played marginally better, faster and more accurately as a 15 year old kid. But I played for fun.
all you have is excuses, nothing seems to be your fault in any way. You always blame someone else when it's clear you are just not as good as you think you are.
