@@blackbeest5738 The USA aren't so open to such unions, I'm afraid. That is not to say they aren't close as Wales is to England, just that I dont see such a union including the USA anytime soon. God save the Queen
Brandon Estrella I wouldn’t say Australians have a “British Attitude” when I think of britons I think of gentlemen. When I think of Australians I think of hunters steve Irwin
Brandon Flowers Of course Australians are Australian, that's a given. But be proud of your British heritage too, and embrace it! Like Italians and their Roman heritage, or Bostonians and their Irish heritage. It's good to have a rich cultural background and it's good to celebrate it. It doesn't detract from your Aussie identity, if anything it adds to it :)
@@redarrow6188 that's the problem right there British people are actually alot like Australia we arnt all like them posh twats in London alot of us enjoying drinking and partying, rugby, cricket
Far as I'm concerned we have 2 anthems. Proud Australian, also loyal to the Queen. I'm disappointed they don't teach both anthems to be honest, I'm 23 and never got taught God save the Queen, I had to learn it myself, proud to have done so. Glory to Australia and God Save the Queen.
Christopher Hatch Yes I noticed that too.... God save the Queen is the rightful anthem of all parts of the great British Empire. It should be sung with pride. God save the Queen Long live the Monarchy
The PM recently changed the lyrics to Advance Australia Fair, which will hopefully start rallying cries of "#notmyanthem". God Save The Queen will always be our true anthem.
@@funkydenonlen8853 Well funny enough this song was the anthem of Germany for a very long time and was originated from France. It was basically the anthem of Europe at that time.

@@Pablo24000 Constitutional Monarchy is a common and effective way of uniting countries such as those of the Commonwealth while allowing fair government. The monarch serves to represent all people of the Commonwealth and so helps keep good relations with those countries. God save the Queen
Yeah, but it wasn't. Just around Sydney, Perth and Tasmania and only for a relatively short time. Having a convict ancestor here is considered local "royalty" !
They needed volunteers mate, so they picked the finest in the UK and said you and you your off to the ends of the earth to start our new colony. @@pickelhaube0449 No, New Zealand has two official national anthems both having equal legal standing as the national anthem, those songs being God Save the Queen and God Defend New Zealand.
Master Yoda I’m surprised that the natives were so willing to just give their country up to the British but I understand why the British got off on the right foot because despite many people thinking that Britain claimed Australia when they sent convicts over to Australia in 1788 but after some research the British claimed Australia in 1770
Just so you know mate, the Texas thing has a ring of truth, with our vibe and attitude, but please , never call us, or compare us to, the British. For a start we have more Irish in our blood, than anywhere in the world, other than Ireland.
@@rangdanghachoo5031 Calm down mate, he was just trying to make a friendly comment. He doesn't understand our make up or how we feel about the British.
Now colonisation isn’t something I am proud of, and the acts committed by the British Empire at the time are abhorrent. However, I am proud of being British. Where there were many wrongs, I am sure there were many rights. The great countries that are part of the Commonwealth today are some of the leading nations in the world. I do believe these countries, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the like, would not be how they are today without the British Empire. The Queen, I believe, is an important figure of peace, stability and pride. I am a proud British man living in Australia. One good thing about being so far from my home country is that there are so many similarities between Brits and Aussies.
My nation is not royal, its Army is not royal, the Regiment (1/15 RNSWL) I served in is Royal, as is the RUSI of NSW I volunteer for. There is no place for Kaiserlied to be played in Australia other than as the anthem of the UK or Lichtenstein.
Australia’s airforce and navy are indeed royal ... RAAF and RAN. If you want to be pedantic you could even look to Britain, her army is not styled as ‘royal’, but her navy and airforce are. I do not see your point..... surely as someone who as made an oath to truly serve HM you would not deny the respect and the right to play GSTQ as an anthem of Australia for the Monarch of Australia and all Australians, who just so happens to be the Monarch of the UK, NZ, Canada etc.?

@ frank Sinatra Aborigines are the indigenous people of this continent. Now if ur asking from where they came from then everyone in this world came from somewhere . But as the first people here or let’s say as the First Nation and been here for pretty long time (40,000 years ) compare to just 250 years of Europeans in here. I would proudly say that the Australian aborigines are the true and only indigenous people of This continent and anyone else are immigrants and their descendants. Now if u want to go around claiming that aborigines also “came here from somewhere”to justify your crimes of white Aussie colonialism then I would say that the French are not from France , Indians are not from India brits are not from Britain and Chinese are not from China and Africans are not from Africa if that’s ur twisted logic . Because all came from elsewhere
プラトモ雨季 well! God save the Queen is the Australian Royal God Save the Queen sung at military occasions such as Anzac Day. The Anthem of Advance Australia Fair is Australian national anthem. Hope this explains this conundrum. God Save ourselves and the Queen.
'Tis gut wrenching when in order to serve in your country's armed forces you must pledge allegiance to a foreigner who could not serve in your nation's parliament. Even worse when your nation decorates you for service, that too is in the name of a foreigner.
@@aviator6935 Hate to break it to ya fuck head, but the OP's points are correct, she is a foreigner. Why? Because she's not Australian like us. Also we have the biggest amount of Irish in us, than anywhere else, other than Ireland. So we are not wholly descended from the Brits.
