13/18 Royal Hussars, they later this year amalgamated with the 15/19 Kings Royal Hussars and became The Light Dragoons.

I would highly recommend NOT joining the armored corps, especially the RL or RDG based in Catterick, Northern England. You'll do most of your trade training down in the south, when you get to your unit you'll hardly ever do your trade, other than 2 or 3 times a year on occasions like Castlemartin or Cambrian Patrol firing/operating the vehicles. Most of the time you'll always just maintain the AFV, carry out level 1 work on them (the REME should do the rest in terms of the mechanical side), do morning PT, go on mostly generic exercises (not using the AFV), go on Gunnrey courses and hang around a dirty hanger doing not too much. If you join the Army now (that is as of this time very undermanned, all Crops) join a corps that you'll obtain transferable skills, qualifications and an trade you'll utilize more often (hence why the RAC aren't issued any real deployments, as they aren't fully needed). If you want the bland, mostly boring hanging around the hanger scene, with a northern boyish regiment then, by all means join.

You cannot satisfy everyone all the time. There is always a grump, normally those who cannot excel in anything in particular. The mediocre!

I enjoyed 24 years in the army, 4 of which were with a northern armoured regt before re trading into something else. But the times i have had, the experiences i have witnessed etc can never be paid in gold. Those memories are priceless. No civvy job can match what the army can offer you.

Not from what I've seen chap, Although this film doesn't do that generation of recruits many favours.

It must have been good as the FOF (Friend or Foe) Identification Cards issued to American forces in the Gulf and Iraq wars essentially said "Do not start an engagement against British forces, you will lose." Essentially, we don't finish the fight until we win. I suppose you can afford the better training when the military is smaller though.

Detail exactly how it is a "laughing stock" please? Everything is not supposed to be Hollywood and tacticool. You can stick to playing call of duty.
