How the fuck am I learning how to buy bonds from a MTG RU-vidr?! Dude what are you Rudy?! Why do you teach? You have nothing to gain but I'm so thankful. It's so unreal. This knowledge. 10/10 bless you for all the knowledge I've gained through the years of following you in the creepy corner.
@@microdog it was complete noob. Listen again. The verdict was that if you want a risky bond then go for it. As a piece to the puzzle. Listen again noob
This was my favorite vid by far. It’s really helpful and enlightening to learn about this from a unbiased observer. Please do a vid on mutual funds and ETFs.
i doubt he wants to sell a collectible. it is effectively a currency hedge with potential for price discovery. maybe he sells if he has something similar to move into (1st ed pokemon, art, NES carts)
He reels you in with some shiny Magic cards with lurid fantasy artwork, then before you know it you're avidly watching as the tacoman dons a pink visor whilst discussing corporate finance. Well played, Rudy👍
Rudy sir, you easily make some of my favourite videos on RU-vid. Your blend of personable economic, comedy, and magic content is just a joy to tune into. I've been watching for years and if I were in the USA I'd be a patron. Alas, as I'm Canadian, please accept my humble offering full video watch times and likes. Your work is appreciated - stay the course, and stay awesome! Obligatory taco reference.
I'm impressed you actually advocate for people to get a financial advisor. A lot of personal finance groups act like they're the devil and say you're supposed to do all this shit yourself.
This. If the people who do this professionally can only, on average, keep up with the rate of inflation, why do I think I can outperform them as someone who has read a bit and watched a few videos? However, having knowledge about finance means you can have more meaningful discussions and develop a better plan with your financial advisor. (and hopefully so you can recognize when an advisor isn't acting in your best interests)
I discovered your channel just a few months ago and I am trying to like all your videos thank you for the great Rudy content it has inspired me to go through all my cards and separate the rares and uncommons
@@mcslappynuts857 the new parent company of Toys R Us, Tru Kids, is actually bringing that brand back. So far they've opened two stores, one in New Jersey and another in Texas.
@@jamu8060 seems so. My understanding is that the reason it went under in the first place was due to being overloaded with so much debt from going private in the mid 2000s that they couldn't afford to invest in things like a decent online store or a more interactive in-store experience.
Awesome video Rudy. I set this up on my TV in my living room at about 1am holding my new baby until she went to sleep. Felt like I was back in an intro college course. You went at a perfect pace, can't wait for another similar video!
Thank you so much for making these videos Rudy. The knowledge you share on your channel has brought much value to my life over the years. These might not be your most popular videos but they truly bring a voice to RU-vid that is needed. Much appreciation!
I absolutely love that I've gotten to this channel from my interest in investment on youtube and it's taken me back to my childhood of MTG. Also makes me realize how much some of the cards I gave away would have gone for.
Ah good, another video in which Rudy is possibly the best bond salesman on the internet. The finance and investment videos are the best. Wonder what he thinks of bond funds.
Why the hell do i learn more from someone like you sitting infront of a whiteboard about financials than i ever had the chance to do so in school or from anyone else? Love the insight, thanks for making me 0.0000001% smarter and hope you stay safe and healthy! :)
Excellent lesson! I work for a discount brokerage in Canada and I played Magic when I was growing up from 1995 off and on to about 2002 so I appreciate all the types of content you produce. I believe you touched on this but Im personally very interested to see you talk about how you balance the different asset classes you mention you are in, Real estate, collectibles, buying debt, youtube and your Retail and Restaurant operations. Seems like a lot to juggle and I would value hearing about your thought process and approach to managing everything while keeping your creepiness at full mast. Giggity
I was there when he said 25 - 30 mins into the video. I’m thinking he should get OT for going over 10 mins with this valuable information. Thank you Rudy for the education.
Rudy do not forget about half of the interest (in europe) a company pays = loss on the profit = less tax so they actually pay 3.75 net. Great video bonds was the only subject I never did
Hey Rudy! Thanks so much for the video again! I love these videos. Even if they're just for entertainment, it's opened up my horizons on what things are possible to look out for in the future!
Pay attention to the accrued interest. When buying, you will be debited the interest accrued on the bond from the last coupon payment up to now. This can leave your account balance in negative territory. So add the accrued interest to the ask price.
Diversify as much as possible, between digital and physical assets as well. It's simply the smartest and safest possible course to distribute your eggs amongst as many possible baskets. Stocks, bonds, precious metals, crypto, even collectibles. The physicals are a reliable way to store money long-term with a guarantee of appreciation (if you buy right), and the digitals often have the potential to make you legitimate money in a more short-term (with of course more risk). A stable career on top of that essentially assures you lifelong financial success and stability.
one of your best videos, please do more, maybe in the future a full detailed finance course? like this but with real examples and why people do and how they achieve wealth and manage to keep it compared to a timmy
Rudy you would be huge with another general investment/market channel talking about cool stories of yours or other people's, (something that lets you use your personality). Magic players love this shit and we aren't even the best audience for it
Rudy should host a video and have everyone pick something "to invest in" and have us all crunch the numbers on if we had purchased X, where would you be now?
Appreciate your entertainment investing discussions. This might be beyond my risk level, but I enjoyed the content. Something to think about for the future.
I learned from Rudy: INVEST IN CARNIVAL AND ROYAL CARIBBEAN...and floppy tacos🌮, people will need floppy tacos during the next depression, cuz people need to eat after all. Edit: after watching the whole video, all I see is Royal Caribbean and 2 seesaws in the corner, but I watched the whole thing to give Rudy his 35 minutes of watch time. I'm kinda high and happy from just starting Ritalin and Prozac, so I couldn't absorb anything lol 😂.
People will pay 2 black lotus to be taught a course in finance , especially at this level and how he brings it down for us timmys to understand , truly a mythic post
1) The finance person is not hiding this from you. They're not ignorant (necessarily). 2) What is their cost to sell this to you? They have to educate you, and selling you a non-diversified product is inherently higher risk. 3) What is their benefit to sell this to you? Maybe it's better for you? Maybe.
