The frequent cruisers club on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is called the Crown & Anchor Society. After my recent cruise on the Independence of the Seas out of Miami, I have finally reached the so-called Diamond Level in this club. Just like with airlines, this comes with certain perks and goodies, and that's what we're going to explore in this video. #cruise #cruiseline #royalcaribbean

UPDATE! I mentioned "free flowing drinks" at the lounge happy hour. That is not the case! They are not "free". You can either purchase them or use your 4 free drinks a day.

My husband and I are both Diamond. The very best perk of being Diamond for us is the 4 free drinks each a day. We are not big drinkers so a beverage package is not for us but 8 drinks between us each day covers us for all drinks we might need. We use this for fresh orange juice at breakfast, wine at dinner, plus a couple of speciality coffees and a couple of alcoholic drinks at random during the day. As we always get the WiFi the free day with Diamond is nice to have too.

Hi! So does this mean that when I reach Diamond status, there's really no need to buy the soda package, assuming I want to just have a few glasses of soda a day? Does this mean that you get the cup for the soda machines without paying for the package? Thank you!

@@crashedherpartyyou would not be the soda cup - that’s only if you purchase the soda package. But you can use your one of your free drink vouchers for a can of soda - or beer - or wine - or a mixed drink - or fresh squeezed OJ. One coupon/voucher per drink of choice

I am Diamond+ but remember Diamond fondly. It really saves a lot of money, just in drinks alone. Also the water in your room is a good plus as well.

You forgot one of the biggest benefits in my mind. At Diamond status, you also match to Elite status in Celebrity's Captain’s Club (and vice versa). What is interesting is that the path to get to Elite on Celebrity is different, and can be faster because they give a wide variety of different amount of points per night based on cabin type and they also offer some options to get extra points. You need 300 points to get to Elite on Celebrity and can earn 2 points per night (inside or Ocean view) to 24 points per night for the most expensive suite (cheapest suites get 8 point per night). Also, BTW, Celebrity ships do have outside seating by the buffet.

We're Diamond as well. The 4 free drinks have to be the best perk. Were not big drinkers so 4 free drinks is just perfect. We also never received our pin, not that I would even wear it, but it's a nice touch.

My husband and I are Diamond. It took us 11 cruises. Two were shorter cruises. Our favorite perks are 4 free drinks, use of Crown Lounge and one free photo. We recently sailed on Celebrity. They did match status. Drinks didn’t matter as we had drink package. But, one free bag of laundry was great as we were on an 11 nighter.

The free photo any size is a nice perk. You do not have to purchase any other photos to receive this Free one. We were just on Allure. We only had photos taken in Central Park on 6th night. On day 7 I went and chose the one I liked and had 2 options. 1 was printed copy and choice 2 was a digital download directly to my photos on my phone. So simple and I can crop and make whatever copies I want.

Emerald - chasing Diamond. I can't wait until we can get 4 free drinks (mocktails for us) per day! That is going to be the best perk for saving money. I also love the robes; been getting them since Platinum. It is nice because they are like having an extra larger towel. I wrap it around after getting out of the shower and by the time I am done blow-drying my hair, I am completely dry.

In the diamond club lounge there will be snacks but drinks are not flowing....you can use your 4 free drinks there......they used to have drinks flowing but that changed when they offered the 4 drinks per day.

I am about to embark on my first Diamond cruise. Thank you for explaining the benefits. I think the priority wait list in the main dining room may pertain to my time dining. You go down to eat whenever you like, but you have to wait in line. Lapel pins - I clip my lapel pin to the lanyard. I never thought of them as a flex. I wear them like I wear Disney pins at Disney.

Something no one mentioned here. The 4 drinks from diamond status is shareable. If you don’t drink the 4 you can treat someone. Can’t do that with a drink package!

Congratulations Morgan on reaching Diamond status! My husband and I are Diamond level. I think we are at about 160ish points on RCCL There are many nice perks with that level. We enjoy being able to have 4 drinks throughout the day where we want and when we want. The discount on cruises is also nice. As always, enjoyed your video, you are just so pleasant to listen to. I I am now diamond and it felt good to use those perks. I used the internet day by splitting it over 2 days like from 2 pm one day to 2 pm the next day cause the one day internet is actually for 24 hours. For the picture, u don’t have to buy any to get the free one.

Congrats on achieving Diamond level in the Crown and Anchor Society. We are Diamond Plus. We started to have fun when we achieved Diamond status and it git better at Diamond Plus. Love the 4 free drinks and now 5 free drinks at the Diamond Plus. We don't buy the drink package anymore.

I reached diamond status after only 6 cruises by cruising solo (2 points per night in a regular stateroom) and the double points promotion which occurred during the shutdown to encourage bookings. I'm so grateful. I continue to give them all my money.

Diamond here, and on my next cruise in one month I cross into Diamond+ (which I know doesn’t take effect until the sailing after that). I absolutely love the four free drinks per day as I collect water and pop for my room each day. Then I decide if I want any other drinks daily or just more water and pop. It’s an awesome perk.

We’re diamond with MSC, and one BIG perk is, every cruise we take with msc, we can enjoy a free speciality restaurant meal for two incl drinks, in the butcher shop (steak restaurant) at the Ocean Cay (seafood) or the Mexican food restaurant, also the laundry service is free 2x on each cruise , champagne and fruit basket every cruise and more top perks…royal Caribbean is so expensive and so cheap with there loyalty perks, we became diamond with msc after our 2. Cruise…..

The Hors d'oeuvres in the diamond lounge are really good. Sometimes, if we don’t want a big dinner, we’ll go and have a few, and are very satisfied.

Hey Morgan! To answer your question, which ship should you go on next - Odyssey of the Seas. This is a selfish answer as hopefully I'll get to meet you some time! I'm Gold currently, but my family will be Platinum after our next upcoming cruise. Lapels - Neat to own, love the recognition, but unless your comments section provides a good reason to wear it, I think it would look nice in a shadow-box in our home.

Have reach Diamond tier with Royal Caribbean Crown and anchor back in late 2018, it is a great person milestone for the individual. Congratulations Morgan, however I'd thought you'd be Diamond plus by now, regardless again congratulations. I'm aiming to get to 340pts, when you get to Diamond and Diamond plus, it may seem there is alot of people at those tiers.

We are Diamond status. We never wear our pins. We agree the drinks are one of the best perks. We just earned our first crystal block on our Mediterranean cruise this fall, so we got to carry a heavy lucite block home to the US.

I would understand that to mean that you get priority on the waitlist if you have Anytime Dining or As You Wish Dining or whatever Royal calls it. So, when you go check in with the host, they put you higher up on the waitlist.

I’m diamond plus! One load of free laundry on longer cruises! We usually take at least 12 day cruises so we got our first load of laundry on our last cruise. LOL I did wear my lapel pin on the last cruise just because. I guess that’s a flex.

Seniority (loyalty points) doesn't mean that much...until you get some. Listen to yourself speaking about your Diamond status. I understand your pride and I also will not wear a lapel pin until, if ever, I receive a Pinnacle name badge! Now that is high cotton! But I guess my point is, you won't wear your Diamond lapel pin but you just dedicated 22 minutes and 47 seconds of your Travel Influencer time to talk about the perks you now receive with Diamond status. Pinnacle Club here - highest value benefits for me are complimentary internet for the length of the cruise, 6 drinks per day, 1 wash+fold laundry bag, free cruise every 350 pts, and the community of frequently-floating friends and crew I have all across the fleet and world. These add up to $300+ in savings per sailing for me. BTW your note about the "happy hour" in the Crown Lounge...you'll have to use your drink coupons when you get drinks in there. They aren't separately "free" from your 4 Diamond drink coupons. The benefit is more that they have a social event where you meet like-minded people with small bites and bar service. Free photo is free photo. Doesn't require a package purchase. You select one of the photos they took and get it free. You can even get the digital version free on ships they offer it instead of the printed edition.

After my next cruise I will be diamond plus. Since they changed to the 4 free drinks a day they no longer give you free drinks for happy hour. They have snacks though. The crown lounge is also a good place to do during off times when you are looking for a quiet place to relax. All the ships I have been on have a coffee machine that does fancy coffee 24 hrs a day. So between the free drinks and coffee in the crown lounge I save a ton of money. The free day of internet is handy for short 3 or 4 night cruises. In most of the carribean i pay $10 a day with my cell provider when on the islands then I use the one day of free internet to check in for my flights like you mentioned.

We're diamond 💎 as well, but we did it in 5 cruises... RCL had some promos that helped. The best perk is the 4 free drink vouchers.. and I don't recall getting any pins.... but the block actually looks pretty cool, its a 3d etched glass block of an RCL ship (we aren't there yet!). There was some hoop-la a while back where RCL was thinking of ditching it as a gift.

I’ve only been on two RC but 5 Carnival cruises even though I like RC a little better but because of the way Carnival does their VIFP I’m gold on both. However I have booked my third RC cruise for next fall & my 6th Carnival for spring of 25. I think that rewards are okay but honestly for me at this point I want new experiences so that means I’m looking at destinations first then cruise lines. After these next two RC & Carnival I want to try both of their sister brands Celebrity & Princess. Also, I just want to say I love the t-shirt. Purple Rain is one of my top five favorite movies.

I'm a Diamond member - - been on a lot of Royal cruises - and since I travel solo, I get double points because I'm still paying for double occupancy, so the benefit is double the points - which can get you to the next Crown & Anchor level a bit quicker!

I think the main dining room priority wait list is if you don't have a reservation and there is a wait. You get to skip ahead of people without status.

I am Diamond. I think the priority waitlist might be if you're doing my time dining. I hear those lineups can be long. The outdoor seating on the quantum class ships is wonderful. We were told if you don't use your free internet that you can request it be put on your seapass card as a credit, we'll find out in April on Quantum of the Seas if that's true or not. I really enjoy your couch conventions 👍🏻

I forgot to add that I put my lapel badge on a stuffy that I take on every holiday, and your 4 free drinks cannot be put on to the next day, if you don't use them all, they will disappear. So if I don't drink four drinks in a day I get bottled water

We just made diamond as well. We always get the top drink package and the internet for the full cruise. This makes diamond pretty much worthless. An overcrowded lounge with the same snacks from the buffet doesn’t seem like a benefit either.

The free photo is a nice perk, you don’t have to buy anything to use it. Go to the photo center on the last day of your cruise and pick a photo. They will print and give it to you for free

I was just looking at this today!! We just made emerald on our last cruise. We have two booked next year and will be so close to diamond that we were trying to find another cruise to take in the next 6 months so we can get it next year! May not happen.

I am only gold. Three cruises totaling 16 nights so far. I like Royal but I have cruised more with Holland America so far. I love Royal Caribbean ships but I tend to focus on destinations and price rather than sticking with the same company. I think Royal have the best loyalty program of the companies I have looked into though. The free daily drinks would probably cover most of my drinks on the cruise as I dont drink that much.

I am Platinum on Princess cruises. Elite is next and the highest. They use either your cruise days or number of cruises. I have only 41 days so far but only 10 cruises (shows I have 11 because I did do one solo). Some of the RC perks are better like the free drinks but some of the Princess ones are better, like 50% off the internet package.

Also when you reach emerald or higher you match MGM property’s loyalty program at Gold status. That gets you no resort fees, no taxes on rooms, and fee parking or valet parking. Also priority line at restaurants, a some of gambling benefits. MGM will match Gold and Platinum from Crown and Anchor you just don’t get a lot a great benefits that are worth it to me, until you reach MGM Gold.

I am at diamond level with RCL also but I am not much of a drinker. I don't think I have ever used up the four drinks a day unless I have someone traveling with me. I also want to mention being loyal to an airline which is paid off tremendously for me with American airlines. I travel quite a lot and I have not had to pay for flights whether domestically or internationally for over 20 years. I maximized benefits that afford me miles with American airlines including their Citi aadvantage card.

You get 4 free drinks a day! We are not heavy drinkers, so maybe a beer at lunch, a glass of wine at dinner, and whatever we have left we get water before going o bed. We are about to reach Diamond Plus, so it will be 5 drinks a day and so on!

I'm not Diamond level (I haven't been on a Royal Caribbean cruise. Yet!), but my guess is the best reason to wear one's lapel pin is so the crew knows. I suppose some people pay attention to pins worn by other cruisers but I sure don't. The crew, though? I'm sure they look out for the lapel pins. Not that they wouldn't give excellent service to any cruiser, but especially with perks, seeing the pin gives them useful information. I wouldn't wear mine unless there was a good reason to let the crew know my status (restricted areas, etc.), and then only for that time. Unless I forgot to take it off after. I'm a bit scatterbrained. I'm trying to live by assuming positive intent from others and always having positive intent. If I catch myself feeling non-positive intent, I have a little talk with myself about how that can never have a positive result. It almost always works. Almost!

Chefs choice is some free snacks they bring to your room, usually I get cookies but I’ve also gotten the chocolate covered strawberry’s.

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Update: our first diamond cruise on the Oasis earlier this month was fantastic! Loved all the perks and the Crown lounge. We're not big drinkers so besides a few cocktails we had wine, smoothies and milkshakes. Used those free drinks for all kinds of drinks. The continental breakfast and 5-8 happy hour appetizers were very nice. We're looking forward to the Crown lounge on our next cruise on the Freedom. Looks like a much nicer lounge with a great view.

We are Diamond plus and really enjoy the perks ! The 5 drinks/d are really nice, since only one of us drinks alcohol. He gets the beer and wine he wants, I get soft drinks. Win-win. What is actually an absolute nuisance is the space in the Diamond Lounges. Due to the double points people were receiving during covid travel there are all for sudden gazillions of Diamond cruisers! The Lounges can't handle that run any more, especially when passengers seem to live there all day long!

Diamonds are not allowed in Crown Lounges, during 5pm-8pm!

@@bodyloverz30 I have never heard of that. Maybe on the big, new ships? We are only cruising with "old, small ones"

@@bodyloverz30 This limitation is only on a specific case by case basis per sailing. Royal looks at how many Diamond-Diamond+-Pinnacle are on each sailing. If they feel there are too many guests booked for that sailing in these three tiers then they consider blocking Diamond. This is definitely not automatic on all sailings.

@@JennyCruiseCommander Coastal Kitchen is now (sailing specific) limited to the top 30 Pinnacles as well. The Diamond Pluses lost the Concierge club years ago, I predict the same is coming for Diamonds. Why else rename every club fleetwide?

I am not mistaken you can go into crown and anchor and add celiberty cruise then you use your status and accumulate points from both lines

Points are not combined. If you are diamond on RCL and cruise on Celebrity for the first time you will be ELITE with 0 points.

I’m Diamond + and I like the 5 drink thing. By the time you get to this loyalty level we have invested 150K+ into this company, a couple of free drinks is the least they could do.

Chef's choice is usually a plate of cookies, a chocolate covered strawberry and maybe even a couple of bite size cakes.

My dad had over 100 days on HAL and seems like the matradee (?) gave him a bit more cruise related friendly respect. 🙋🏼‍♂️ I was impressed that he had been on HAL for over 100 days so there’s that 🤷🏼‍♂️

You will be matched on Celebrity to Elite..which has some nice perks.

Morgan thanks for all your content. You missed another HUGE benefit of being Diamond. That is you get Elite status on Celebrity. The equivalent of Diamond. The perks are a little different. 90 minutes of internet, bag of laundry, unlimited drinks during cocktail hour. No drink vouchers. Special coffee house style breakfast, priority tendering. There are more benefits but these are the big ones.

Priority waitlist means if the Set Time for Dinner, Ex My Time, Late Dining or Early Dining are full. You can be put on Priority Waitlist. This happened to me this afternoon when i booked my next cruise ans agent askes me my preferres time. Since My Time is full i opt out for late dining and to be put on Waitlist for My Time Dining

The diamond lapel pin is the best perk. What fun is it having status if you don’t lord it over all the losers? Not that I would know; I’m like zinc level or something way down the list.
