Saw them in sweden many years ago. I bought Eddie Nichols a whiskey afterwards. I was 17 and said that I wanted to thank him by sharing a whiskey with him. He looked at me a long while, smiled and slammed his hand on the bar and showed em 2 fingers. Seconds later we were having a chat dricking whiskey. One of my greatest memories, the band was slammin' that night.
Just to clarify: Cameos by: Mike Ness, Robert Tameny, Dita Von Teese, Mark Mahoney (the priest), Peter Loggins (jail cell dancer), the band HepCat (in the jail cell break out at the end), plus a ton of friends and family. Was shot at the abandoned Cybil Brand women's prison in East LA. Biggest budget thing RCR ever did. Thanks for the kind words. BamBam
After all these years of watching this video I realized Mike , FROM SOCIAL DISTORTION was in it along with Dennis. wow makes it that much better thank you
Amazing... finally! a music video from Royal Crown Revue! Now let's see some videos for Walkin' Like Brando, The Contender, Datin With No Dough, and She Walks on Fire. ... And while we're at it how 'bout another full studio album. This is one of my favorite bands ever (any genre) and they're so badly under-appreciated it's not even funny. RCR!
We are working with the great Eddie Nichols as we speak. Great performer and incredible guitar player. He just recorded with the band Fly Cutter two weeks ago for their song called "Shut Up Richard"
I've been trying to find this video for ten years! I saw it late one night on TV and missed the band name and title of the song. The only reason I found it now was because I was watching Buffy and Royal Crown Revue were on an episode so I decided to google them and this video popped up! Can't believe I finally found it.
What are the sweet moves done by the guy in the jail-cell? Cant be solo-jazz right, because I heard that was some old-lady stuff, and this guy looks way cool.
@TheRabbyTo I would put them somewhere between swing and rockabilly but leaning more towards swing. It's great to hear a modern band reviving the classic swing sound.
technically they're uglier because as the human species progresses were going to eventually naturally filter out uglier people and genetics just want us too look prettier so the longer we exist as a species the more attractive and symmetrical we'll get if we dont fuck something up
Great fun. I haven't listened to this in a while, but I'm working on a fictional swing dance book and am using this song for a dance scene. It's got so much raw/punk/swing energy. It brings back great memories of seeing them live and dancing to them when neo-swing was new! Anyone know who the dancer is in the video? #neoswing #swingdance #bigband
Tam Francis If you mean the dancer in the cell, it is Peter Loggins who, among other film appearances, choreographed and dances in the first 5 minutes of the movie, Mulholland Drive.
No kidding. I'll have to pay more attention. I didn't know that was Peter. Cool. We used to hang with him a bit when he lived in San Pedro with Lisa. They used to come down and teach for us in San Diego. Okay, watching it again. Woo Hoo! Thanks!
Laughing Achilles For a similar music style and beat, check out the first 5 minutes of the movie Mulholland Drive which Peter Loggins also performs. I like the "driving" music of both. For some crazy music, see Peter dancing for a Marilyn Manson video, Mobscene! Crazy stuff!
I downloaded a torrent or Mugzy's move, and I'm pretty sure "Zip Gun Bop (Reloaded) was included with it as the last track. Was it not actually on the album? Also when I say older version, there's actually a pretty old music video on youtube, watch?v=gH5ekKEnkwM. Definitely better.
and of course in this video We have the brothers that played in YOUTH BIRGADE back in the day the band has had a line up change a couple times since id seen them in the 90s bad ass video thankful there mama's made em take band class
