Yes and slower, if that is what you want.

Making the crank heavier will not help. More likely, your crank is not trued very well, I have seen many with terrible runout on the mainshafts. Also, it is possible the crank is not very well balanced, but this is less likely. If you are taking the crank out to check, also take a careful look at the condition of the main bearings.

Find a competent professional machinist who has done this work before, and not some backyard bodger.

My mandrels made up from socket set components cover 350 or 500 types and account for the standard balance factors, with standard rods and pistons. I use the same balance factor for whatever type of pistons or conrods are used and this seems to work fine.

The balancing is quite important, but truing the flywheels - and more importantly - the mainshafts is vital for smooth running.

Truing the flywheels only helps minimize vibration, it will not affect performance. I think the uce cranks are supposed to be pretty true from the factory, unlike some of the older 'Classic' types.

No, it is, in my case 0.66 x the weight of the conrod small end resting on a scale with the conrod horizontal, plus the weight of the fully assembled piston.

@@paulhenshaw4514 do you mean to say the TOTAL weight of the piston assy (piston, piston rings, wrist pin, retainers) plus 0.66 the weight of the small end? Or 0.66x all combined?

Hi Chris, the holes are just for balancing, I reduce the diameter of the flywheels as well as the width, from both faces, usually losing around 1 - 1.5 kgs of weight of a fully assembled crank.

@@paulhenshaw4514 This is all very interesting but I lost desire to buy this bike in the end. It's annoying having to do so much work and at this depth. There are plenty of other things to work on. I wish they still made it in the U.K even if it meant it'd cost a couple more grand

Sorry, but the dimensions and weights took some working out on my part and are my 'secret'.

Some Indian 350 engines have lighter cranks than the British ones, while others are the same.

Here in indian model bullet standard 350 (only kick start ) this model has heavy crank. On other model it has lighter crank only

I don't need to know any of ur trade secrets ...I'm just curious ..is it possible to have a perfect balance .. or is it varies depends upon the power/ torque /rpm .. What's the logic or principle behind this ..

There is no real 'perfect' balance, but you can set the balance factor to put the smoothest running into a certain RPM zone. That said, truing of the flywheels and more importantly, the mainshafts is vital to the smoothest possible running and the longest possible main bearings' life span.

Nope. The US. Where it's a total no-man's land for Enfield work of any kind. Hell..., I probably know more about them than most here.
