Just watched your video and thought I was looking at my bike. Unfortunately, my fairing is hanging on the wall of my garage. I haven't worked up the courage to attempt the install yet.
Getting ready to install the fairing. Can you tell us a bit more about the missing steps in their video and things you wish you knew before you started?
You can order AEW exhaust from india for better exhaust note and weight reduction, they are best and buy 102 model not 101. You have made some tasteful changes to bike. Good work
This company really does a great job. I don't know if it's a legal modification in the US either 🤷. I just have to remember to remove it when I take it into the shop for servicing.
Great looking bike. I will be getting mine in the next few days. I did have a question. The install of the fairing, you mentioned needing to lower the bars. Was that a must? Or something you wanted? Reason I ask is that I had a Triumph Thruxton R and I did the install of the fairing myself... those instructions also asked for lower bar mounts but it all work with normal height bars. I really do not want to lower the bars due to how comfortable to ride is with the stock setup. If there is no way around installing this fairing without lowering the bars then it would not work for me.... as much as I love the looks of it... On the weight, I have been riding for several decades now, but I agree with you. First time I got on the bike, as I was standing up the bike straight, wow, felt heavy to get centered. Also felt less nimble to turn than what I am used to. I know it will just take time to get used to it, but interesting to see that it was not as easy to tilt as previous bikes that I have had. Thank you! Continue to enjoy the bike and be safe out there!
Hey Jaime! Thanks for the comment. Hope you got your bike now. Yes, you will need to lower the bars. If you don't, you will not have clearance for the tack and speedo. Also the bars will hit the fairing when turning. I really didn't want to lower the bars either. This company is making a new version that doesn't require lowering the bars. I wish they were working on that before I bought my kit. I was surprised with the weight, but I've adjusted. I was moving up from an old ninja 250, so anything would have felt heavy to me 😁
@@ncashman1 - thank you for the reply. I did send an email to Autologue Design and they confirmed the same. Weird that they did not mentioned working on a new design that would work with stock/normal height bar position. They directed me to their USA representative, so I will follow up with them next week to get additional details on that possibility. They did confirm that their cowl only works for the stock seat and not the Solo seat... that is too bad. The cool thing about their cowl is that it is longer and avoids the need to cut the frame to make it aesthetically pleasing... When you see the stock bike with the factory single seat and cowl (like you, I also got the single seat and cowl, mine should be here in a few weeks), there is too much frame sticking out the back... I could go with the MK Designs kit and cut the back. Their kit provides a very clean setup with the stock single seat and cowl. But I will wait to reach out to Autologue Design USA rep before making any drastic changes. I did get the bike on Dec 31st. See here a video a made for a friend: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qjLkKEcbBG4.html As to moving from a 250... trust me, this bike is heavier than what I am used to as well... must be the center of gravity, weight distribution, or something, but getting it from the stand to the upright position takes some effort (...it might be my short 5'7" height as well)
Haven't noticed a difference in handling. The comfort level has definitely changed. Less comfortable. Also if you change the angle of the handlebars, it can prevent you from locking them in place. Not ideal if you want to ride to work or leave parked outside for an extended amount of time.
The seat fits. Its actually an official Royal Enfield after-market part. The only thing that kinda sucks is the stock bike has a bunch of plastics and and a cluttered tail section that was built around the stock seat. A lot of people remove the mudguard and cut down the tail section of the frame.
I dont agree 100%, but I do wish the inside of the fairing was the same quality as the exterior. This was the first version of the fairing. Maybe the new one has improved paint 🤷
@@ncashman1 ..i orderd new one 2.1 faring poor paint job .cheap acrylic visor .all corners are creepy faring and seat cowl also...even i choose stainless steel brakets ..they gave some bracket in steel some part in iron.
