You have mad shade tree mechanics skills. There are special tools to pull/install those bearings but you show how to do it without them. Sockets that are of correct size can also be used to install/drive in races. Good job!

Very informative video for himalayan owners, i ve already done that diy in my home, as per my opinion also cutting with dremel is the best idea, ive cut that with dremel also, but it would be better if you cut the inner part of the bearing half and tap the cut mark with a chisel. it will brake easily. As seen in the video you have made a cut on the rod and the lower part of the t-stem also. But if you cut that inner part of the bearing half way from the upper side then the lower dust shield can be saved as I did. Apart from that superb video. Doing the job with shooting the video on one hand is very tough i know. if you are doing it diy than you can try zkl bearing next time, it is better than the stock one. Ofcourse it depends on the availabily. Keep posting more videos. Loving it.

Hey So as I had mentioned in the last video, I was having some issues with the cone set. When I tried to adjust them, it had a mind of its own and I could feel that the bearings were dug into the race. So decided to open them with the idea that maybe cleaning and re greasing might take care of things. But unfortunately upon inspection as you would see in the vid, the lower race had serious pitting or was dug in thus creating issues while riding. Things happen, I hope this would have lasted longer but now was the time to change, so here is how I go about it. There are a lot of ways to go about it, and yes a hollow pipe would have certainly been handy, but I dont have it so this is how I go about it ;) Hope this helps Cheers :)

Isn't there any option to replace or kinda any other means for himalayan cone set, I have changed 3times, n my bike is just 2 yrs old, most annoying is the cone set which needs to be replaced than any other parts in the bike,,

If this is caused by ingress of water, you can buy neoprene velcro sealing covers top and bottom, used on mountain bikes. Will protect these areas.

Have you thought about switching to a more premium bearing ? Some say skf bearings that are made for RE are lower quality to increase profits . , Same bearings bought aftermarket are heavier and last almost twice as long ( I Haven't got any solid proof yet ) And using heavy duty waterproof grease ? . I'm planning to get a pair of genuine NTN japanese bearings and marine grease.. Do u think the dust caps that come with bs4 will fit on bs3? .

Just an recommendation brother when change the next time use German made bearings replace the top cap with big silicon cap it increases the life of the bike... Because RE is just focusing to release new bike not to sorted the old issues...

Bro its waste of time nd money replacing the same company bearing, I had the same problem, I did myself since my dad is an mechanic engineer..he helped me a lot, a lot of cheap parts are being used in Himalayan, everyone are having this fork bearing problem from bs3, bs4, waiting to hear on bs6, you could have got some imported bearings, like NTN bearings or Timcun, Koyo. They will sustain for at least 7 yrs

Maybe this is missing or if not it is a poor and unsafe design.
