similar weight. (181kg). no fairing,, Honda has 20.8 bhp,, Enfield has 20.2 bhp and probably slightly more loss on the wheel than the Honda.. Honda has 3Nm more of torque than the Hunter.. So the Honda will win everyday in the week when drag racing the enfield hunter.. The Honda is a very long stroked engine.. Bore/stroke = 0.77,, The enfield has a bore/stroke ratio if 0,84.. so in theory the enfield could make more power at higher rpm.. It does rev higher than the Honda engine.. (HIghness max power at 5500 rpm / Hunter max power at 6050rpm) ,, The J series can be improved on for more power.. TEC parts in the UK have made a new camshaft for the scram/himalyan 411cc engine (bore/stroke = 0.9),, With the new camshaft and a little better airfilter and free flow exhaust the bike made 20% more power.. From 24.3 bhp to 29 bhp. The Honda highness could also make more power but it runs very lean (low fuel consumption) ,, but the long stroke limits top end.. But the honda has torque in spades.. A long stroked air cooled single like the Honda Higness (70mm / 90.5mm) has roughly a max output of 1bhp pr cubic inch. This translates into 350cc = 21.4 cubic inches so around 21.5 bhp is the limit... DO you want top end power on a bike a large bore and short stroke like the yamaha FZ25 is the way to go.. A bore/stroke ratio of 1.28 and you get 20.4 bhp from a 250cc single.. But the yamaha is air-cooled.. Want more power go,, more efficient cooling,, the suzuki 250 gixxer makes 26..2 bhp from a very short stroke engine.. The yamaha R15 is a square engine (bore = stroke) but really efficient liquid cooling gives a power of 19 bhp from only 155cc of displacement.

5th gear is cruise gear. 4th gear has all power. And RS is faster. During high speed run you need to be on 4th gear. You can see another video where it's RS vs Hunter. Not even close.

CB 350 RS liya hai aur bhai sahab kya refinement hai. Dil garden garden ho gaya.

The guy who drove CB350 in the first round probably isn't aware of the power output distribution in CB350 and hence couldn't find the sweet spot(s) on how to generate power on that machine.

If the Honda cb350 series bikes had 25 bhp power and switchable ABS then they would killed the competition in all the segments. If 20.8 bhp delivery is like this imagine 25-30 bhp and RS version would have been a great offroader with switchable ABS (it still is a great offroader)

5th gear in this bike is like in a car, it doesn't hit the required rpm quickly for Max power. If you race with 4th gear until the engine is in max rpm and shift it to 5th gear to maintain more or less similar rpm it can do 135-140kmph on highways. Otherwise it'll take too long to attain the same speed...

An amazing fun video 👍🏽 Honda- A two wheeler company who is still years and years ahead of Royal Enfield in terms of technology. Honda is the largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world. Royal Enfield - It has come a long way to but still has a long route to catch Honda. It’s no way near in terms of technology and refinement, power. Yes, Royal Enfield have worked hard and earning a good name around the world and their bikes are beautiful, rugged. Last time I had an an RE bike, I wanted to throw it away as it was so poor in reliability but now I can go again and buy one without a question as their reliability has improved drastically but on the other hand if I am buying a Honda, I can buy it blindfolded when it comes to technology, refinement and its years ahead. Infact, Japanese bikes were a major reason for Royal Enfield to go extinct back in early British Era. I am not saying only in regards to these two bikes. It’s like comparing Toyota to Mahindra in terms of technology.

In 350 segment Honda is the best refined engine can cruise at 110-120 without any effort, 40+ mileage on highways. What more do we need.

At the very last moment, he shifted down the gear to 4th from 5th on the hunter, and I think that probably was the reason why the hunter 350 lost and CB350Rs won by the barest of margins. It’s just an assumption as I am not completely sure about it. No disrespect to Honda CB350 Rs, it’s a fantastic machine but I think they are pretty same power wise. Even though hunter started slightly slower than the CB350Rs, it ain’t weaker than it because initial momentum doesn’t matter, what matters is hunter caught upto Honda CB350Rs at some point and had beaten it during the run, I didn’t clearly see the gear shift on Honda at the very last moment though so no offence. I own a Royal Enfield hunter and I’ll tell you it’s nothing less than a beast. Both are great machines and they have great road presence. Royal Enfield Hunter 350 💙 Honda CB350Rs ❤ Thank you!

We don't race in retro bikes.... Otherwise we could go for R15 Yamaha....These are such beautiful beasts in city and highway too. Compared with price Hunter is best.

Honda has a better engine everyone knows. More power, refinement, mileage. Less heating, vibration, maintenance.

If speed and refineness is what new single cylinder RE is aiming at to offer customers , than the later may look elsewhere for more rewarding experience. But if one is willing to pay for an emotion (of whatever is left of it) minus vibration , RE may still deliver ( those with hardcore CI obsession are automatically excluded .)

Hunter with a price tag pf 1,50,000 is making me rethink my choice of going with highness. 50k is damn too high as a price paid for honda's refinement and few extra power figures. This is further made complicated by limited service centers n spares availability of honda.

Tall gearing wouldn't be an issue if cb350 had better low end torque Sadly it don't, engine has been tuned in way that torque is concentrated in mid and top end while j series engines have torque in low-mid range. That's why cb perform better in acceleration and RE has good initial pickup and better drivability in every gear.

So CB350 is better torque than all RE350 series.

I think the all RE company had looked most its 350cc motocycle top speed upto 120kmph (hunter, meteor, classic and bullet) whereas the honda cb350 and cb350 highness are looked below 139kmph and finally honda cb350rs has an unlocked engine which can reach over 150kmph!!! i wonder if any RE 350cc bikes has an unlocked engine, what will be its top speed?
