Thanks man. Yeah I was definitely going on a lot of what those other reviews said when I got this bike. Still a great bike just not as good as some made it out to be.
Well the reason for them not giving Pirellis as stock has to do with the heavy import tax our Government (Indian) started imposing on Foreign made tyres. Also, our government made it mandatory for foreign tyres to pass some certification to sell in India, which are quite cumbersome. RE probably thought it'd be more convenient to switch to an Indian made tyre.
It's crazy how much cheaper these are in the US vs here in Canada even after the conversion. Although, i bought a z900rs with 5000 miles for less than you paid for the new 650 so there's that
How much are they going for up there? Maybe less dealers so they hike the prices up. And ah thats a hell of a deal if you found a z900 for less than 6k. Its still hard to find them used around where I am and the ones that are are usually selling for close to new prices.
@Nick_ADV Its def better I havent been reaching for that 7th gear as much. I got it at Hitchcock motorcycle accessories. They're in the UK so it took like 2 or 3 weeks to get to the U.S.
For a suspension upgrade, i went middle of the road with Hagon 2820 shocks and Norman Hyde progressive fork springs, both from Bella Corse. These have given a nice compliant rife and much more confident high speed handling. The shocks took about 600 miles to break in. Really good results for the money, IMO.
