Stock seat Issue resolved at Sahara Seats, Ramkote, Hyderabad. They have ready to fix seats too. They also do the full foam change job on the stock seat pan. Hence, price depends upon the job done and specifications of the customer.
This is an honest review of Interceptor Touring Seat by Sahara Seats. This is the worst seat purchase in my life and the most costliest one too as I had ordered this seat back in August 2022 and now after 6-8 months of pretty light usage, I have started experiencing back pain and also tail bone pain. The seat usage was only for 3000 kms approx. I had added a 12mm Gel Pad too but the seat is now getting maxed out and I am now able to feel the chassis. It is now a similar experience to the stock seat from RE. The biggest mistake was blindly following these RU-vidrs (RideWithRaj & SunnyHasPlans) and placing an order for the seat. I had spent around 8000 bucks on this seat for comfort and it turned out to be a very uncomfortable decision. All in all a common man like me got trapped spending his hard earned money on something useless. Everyone never ever indulge in buying Sahara Seats, now I have to go to a local guy and again spend around 4000 to 5000 rupees for a good seat.
Bro which one do you recommend? I test drove Interceptor & Classic reborn, the Classic was a lot more comfortable than the IC(not only the seat but also the posture). Would the RE's Touring seat suffice?
@@1234fazermann I am using an custom made seat from Rao Seats Bangalore. You need to customise the seat as per your requirements then only you will find the correct seat which is tailor made for you. Never go for Sahara Seats they are an absolute ripoff.
In addition to RRE unit issues in Interceptor & GT two things need to be taken care 1.While getting the bike water wash make sure always spray the water with low pressure( To prevent connectors failure) avoid frequent water washes. once in a month is enough 2.The RRE unit is located underneath the center stand / behind the catalytic converter, try to avoid take the bike where more water is logged on the road. (Muddy water causes rust inside / between the connectors & pins. also blocks the heatsink plate to dissipate the heat produced by the relays inside the RRE Unit) *Recommendations* Use wet cloth to clean the RRE unit when bike is in cold condition, after that do not turn on / ignite the bike until cleaned area dried naturally. I got it done on the stock base. The fiber one. You can either get a new base and get it done, or on the stock base itself. Cost depends on the design and the materials used. If you are looking to get it done on your stock base.. Then expect the cost anything between 3k to 4.5k...again its totally based on your requirement. Hope this helps.
Hi, was the gel installation useful? I am on the heavier side and get tail bone pain very quickly on the interceptor....... have ordered the gel to add on to my seat.....hopefully it works..... do let me know of your experience.
Don't order the gel separately as Sahara seats guys have the gel with them anyways. If you are planning to get the seat job done at theirs. Otherwise, gel frankly doesn't make much difference in my opinion. My weight is 72-74 kgs. What makes difference is the density of the foam most importantly.
Oh my God The same problem I faced with my Int650 bs4. In my case all the Kolkata RE authorised service centre has failed to detect the problem but made me buy plugs, sensors, coolant and was planning to sell rre uit. Luckily one Enfield engineer took pity on my case and got my coils changed and the problem vanished. How good is the seat in very long drives and also how dose it feel for the pillion riders ?
Hi Buddy. Where did you source the RR unit from ? I am facing the rr unit issue now and RE showrooms donot have it. I am stuck. They told it will take 10 - 15 days to be back in stock.
We sourced it from a workshop near AOC Centre. However, if you still have warranty, get it replaced for Free under warranty. If you can't wait, Please dm us in Instagram. We will be glad to help you with that.
@@NomadMonksUnfiltered Thanks for the info. will get it replaced under warranty. How much is the cost of it though ? and did you get to know what caused it to fail. because when i questioned why it did happen i got a vague answer that its electrical part and can get damaged anytime. There might be a specific reason for it because there a lot of bikes having this issue and RE doesn't have enough parts to get it fixed on time. There might be something fishy.
@@avirupbanerjee3874 To keep the 650 price very low, RE put all the electrical parts of very cheap quality. Hence, 3 years warranty probably. Regarding the RR unit issue, the cause could be due to the position of the RR unit under the body near Centre stand, making it prone to water damage. And also refrain from Pressure wash very frequently.
@@NomadMonksUnfiltered hmm.. honestly very bad positioning. Well then it seems after the issue is fixed have to checkout some aftermarket parts to cover up that area in such a way that it doesn't let water in and also the heat managment is kept in control. Thanks for the info bro. 👍🏽
