Got these on my 2020 Int, with Lextec exhausts and DNA filter. Bottom and mid range improved immensely and the sound and overrun is fantastic. Highly recommended.
Did it make your exhaust sound extremely loud? I am contemplating on installing this headers pipe. The reason is that I commute on my GT and I do not want it giving me headaches.
Greetings from Adelaide , Australia. After watching this video I purchased a set of these pipes for my ravishing red 650. Also added the DNA air filter. My goodness, these 2 additions brings out the animal in this thing. Absolutely growls now. I've watched a lot of your 650 videos recently and they are fantastic, thank you so much for putting in the effort to make them and help people like myself navigate through my 650 journey! Kind regards, Mick
@@michaelollivier2218 i want to brother. Cops here are downright strict. They dont want any motorcycle around that has a end cans which obviously are loud. Hence i was looking for some open headers paired with OEM cans. Which are just right kinda loud. And cops cant make out modded headers, they just look no different at all apart from colour.
Excellent video. I ordered the exact same header pipes and they arrived yesterday. I ordered the silencers a while ago but decided to wait and fit the whole system in one go. Like you I did the fuel booster and DNA upgrade a while ago ready for the new full system exaust. I'm not too bothered about losing engine braking, I'll just have to take it easy until I get the feel of what the bikes going to be like. Take care and stay safe.
I think they look beautiful. Been looking for stainless steel replacements for bike ever since I bought. Will be placing my order soon. As for the scavenging leaning out the engine further, you could consider the S&S cam with allows the inlet valves to open before TDC. Might also be time for an aftermarket ECU.
Excellent start to the new year, listening to your bicycle with the new exhaust free flowing headers mod whilst wearing ear phones what a wonderful start to my day it reminds me of the Julie Andrews song The hills are alive with the sound of music, keep them coming old chap well done.
That MercBenz driver thought they were on a bicycle at the lights. Arrogance personified. Great review Mister Moto, keep it up from Mr Interceptor aka Fireball XL650
I used to live in Angel about 5 years ago (in Australia now) so sad to see The Albion boarded up now, i lived just off richmond ave around the corner from it 😞.... but it did make this video far more enjoyable! As it was the info i wanted and doubled as a nice ride through very familiar streets of a city i loved! Enjoy mate!
Have a great new year mate and I hope you get to do your tours this year. Love all the mods that you have done to the RE. Hopefully I will be getting one for myself this year so I will certainly be watching to see what you can do next! Great content and a relaxing narrative. Sorry to hear you guys are in lockdown again. Take care and thanks for the ideas and inspiration. All the best from Oz.
Hi Andrew, glad the videos have served as some inspiration. If you are looking for a motorcycle project in 2021, I promise you, this is as fun as it looks. I think the U.K could learn something from the way you guys have handled C-19.
These look so clean, the originals appear too thick (double skin) and the finned ring looks cheap. Hopefully they'll keep their looks. Your pictures do more for them than Hitchcocks site, nice video.
Thanks for the vid, great as ever. Also happy new year. I have been waiting for the Tec version. I’m waiting to see how it compares to the 2-1 stinger. I feel that the 2-1 will offer better torque which is more important to me than BHP. That’s my basic understanding of the difference between a 2-1 and 2-2 but I’m no expert. I’m also drawn to the 2-2 as I love the look. In short I need to decide over looks or slight difference in performance characteristics Love a first world problem for the new year!
Happy New Year. Logic says the 2-1 will offer better performance when running correctly, it will also offer a greater weight saving. I just can’t get down with the look of it though. This system offers a good compromise between performance and classic looks.
Sorry, one more. Would you consider telling your audience your planned movements when you get round to your road trip? I would be keen to meet up for an unsocialy distanced coffee and a tyre kick. I’m sure you would pass some of your audience wherever you went.
Wow mate soo pleased I actually found your video, just what I been looking for. My Hitchcock front pipe headers “same as yours” are still not yet fitted to my Interceptor due to winter. At present Bike is laid up and have Scorpions fitted but standard front pipes at the moment. I have been trying to find out what it’s going to be like when front pipes are on and now I know. I also have booster plug DNA and flange. Thank you so much. I look forward to out of town review and more gold colour?
Great thanks. I like seeing the city. If people want to avoid discoloured pipes, spraying VHT engine header paint down the pipe helps. Visit their web site for more info.
Looks great. My 3 other bikes have stainless down pipes. Love the straw patina. Now you need stainless bolts. Stood out like a sore thumb with engine close ups. Stainless dome nuts on the headers. Oh now needs a paint job to stand out! Can recommend TJC designs in Bristol. He did a great job on mine.
I'm Excited!!! The Bike sounds Great I'm sure watching I could feel that smooth power rumble ... The next thing to ask is can I have a ride , lol , I'm waiting on delivery in two weeks for my Glitter and Dust interceptor With Lextek slipons .... Cant wait , have too ! . Ok Safe travels
Bike sounds great, reminds me of the days of Brit bikes, coffee bars and ''If there's one fing that I liok, its a burn up on me Bike'' Wonder if any companies will come up with 'sweptbacks 'n' Meggers.....
i am new to channel but i can say really impressive videos and bike mods are great..... if i get chance surely i love to buy your bike.... Just to showcase it..in India...... Love from India (Bengaluru)
This a is a great review man. I'd love to see some all your other modifications. What impact do you think a free flowing system has on the bike/engine long term? I'm all about trying to improve the bikes life. I don't like changing bikes a lot.
Thanks! Still running longer term tests, but I can tell you that the bike feels a lot more free revving, and engine breaking is reduced. The engine feels less stressed (not that it felt stressed in the first place). I'll make some updates soon.
Another great WM Enfield vid. Good to hear the catless headers are doing the biz at town speeds. Maybe a future vid with some upper rev range performance/high speed testing please? I had a BoosterPlug when I fitted Akra headers to my RnineT, and it worked well. However, driveability and performance right throughout the rev range improved dramatically when I later removed the BP in favour of a remap instead. Perhaps a remap is something to consider for the future....plus it would make some great vid content for this super channel. Happy New Year Doood.
@@WildlifeMoto Have you seen the Revelry vids (#4 and #5) about EFi tuners? They weigh up the various options and conclude the PowerTronic is the most flexible and tuneable choice.
I am curious to know whether these headers would pair well with a set of Emgo Cocktail Shakers? My buddy has a set on a Triumph and they were a wonderful upgrade that not only provided a bit of performance but gave a very deep voicing to the engine that commanded intrigue when you rolled by. I am unsure what headers he used but if the Hitchcocks will mate up with those Cocktail shakers my lands will that be a thunderous symphony. I have always enjoyed the sound of a British Twin with a set of pipes that allowed it to sing like a Robert Plant at a Led Zepplin concert. In my opinion, next to an American V-twin and a Ducati V-twin, it is the most aggressive, menacing, pulse jumping, and smile cracking engine sound on the planet; I see these different exhausts as just amplifiers for the front man at the show.
Hello! Lots of love from India!!, I had a doubt about the headers, are the dimensions similar to the stock pipes?? And will the Lextek AC1 exhausts fit on these pipes.?
Sounds great plus looks a treat! Are you running a powertronic or dyno tune box Im on a full tec system with a bhp uk ecu remap which make the bike pull like a train
Hi Arjun, i;ve only done a few miles since installing the headers and all seems good so far. I want to test more before I can say for sure (just can't do it at the moment due to lockdown). I'll get some more videos published as soon as I have got some more miles clocked up. Cheers.
@@WildlifeMoto thanks mate. Look forward to it. I have recently changed the extractors on my bike as well and I am feeling a lot more heat coming from the engine even with the boosterplug. It was fine with the air filter and stock extractors. Our thoughts are with you lot in these challenging times.
Are you now in competition with Royal Jordanian. Haha. My son picks he's ravishing red interceptor up in the next few weeks and will be doing some of what you've done. The preference is to eliminate much of the chrome but can't find a black exhaust system.
Revelry Cycles and Verex in Tasmania both have stainless downpipes like these. One or both of them offer black ceramic coating as an option. I got mine from Verex, but I got the brushed stainless version.
Haha. I don’t think RJ has anything to worry about. Scorpion also do a black version of these cans too. Good luck to your son with his new bike. Great choice!
HNY old chap! Lovely bass sound with those new downpipes on. When are you dyno-testing your bike, for the fruits of your labour (and cash!) to be revealed?
Hi Steve. Links to the parts are in the description. LSL Superbike bars, Domino XM2 throttle, Brembo RCS15 brake master cylinder, TWM clutch perch, Domino Starter, Motone Customs Up and Over Risers, Oberon Performance Street Fighter mirrors, Grip Puppies. I think that’s everything :)
@@WildlifeMoto thanks for that! I do especially like your bars & risers. What else do you want or would like to have fitted as extras to customise your beautiful machine. Have you test ridden the 660 Aprilia?
GEEZ! What are they doing over there with the road tax money....buying pizza and beer? Yikes! I personally like engine brake, cuts down a lot on brake pad wear and I like the cornering control too. How much would you say it cuts down? Glad you brought this point up because I was going to ask you about that. Also do you lose any low end torque and if so does it gain on top end? Thanks
do you find the noise too loud with the straight through exhaust? i want the deep growl and burble but im worried its going to be too loud. should i just do a slip on with stock headers with the cats?
Doing this without booster plug or tuner.....will it work well? My headers arrive today but I did not purchase a fueling device. I'd hate to do it and have it too lean to ride
@@WildlifeMoto The same for You ;-). I'm curious, if you will find a 4 piston caliper for the interceptor. I tried but was not successful . Good Luck and best regards from Germany
Hi daddy , I got Powerage headers for my 650. I want mine to change color to that copperish brown … shall I take brushed steel or glossy steel headers ?
Go for non brushed as you can polish them easier. If you want yours to stay a nice straw colour, you’ll have to polish them back to shiny steel from time to time. It won’t take long for them to go dark brown or even blue.
Definitely sounds good but what of the environmental emission norms ? A lot more smoke seen in the Comparo video(pre and post header change). UK cops lenient on these mods ?
Seems fine in London's 30 mph zones… but how is it cruising at 130kph/85mph on an autoroute in the southern sunshine? (or even at 70 on a UK dual carriageway or motorway?)
Just got the same headers installed and am loving them! Did you find that one muffler is lower than the other? After the install my right one is lower than the left.
are the bore on the hitchock headers wider then the stock variant? i was also looking at tec big bore headers and they are considerably wider. would this be bad with a stock engine?
Yes they are. The stock pipes have a chrome outer pipe with a narrower inner section. The Hitchcocks pipes are single wall. The exhaust on this bike is pretty simple so I wouldn’t worry about it. Hitchcocks have tested their pipes on their Dyno so maybe ask them about their findings.
I usualy get alot Bangs and pops when i get of the trottle but with still 5 - 10% trottle . So Reving up to 5 then going off the trottle and open it a tiny bit .
I was wondering if they would turn yellow or blue and it looks like yellow it's my understanding that that is a sign of a lien running engine am i my mistaken? what causes the difference between blue and yellow coloring of exhaust systems?
Does this setup reduce fule economy?? While charging up he initials.. And I also like to add a channel Named @King Indian for Turbocharged Interceptor 650.. Look out for that
@@WildlifeMoto thanks for your reply, looking forward to watching future content. Thanks for your efforts with the channel, hope 2021 is a good year for you and your channel.
Non on MOT everything is road legal. Insurance, you just need a policy that lets you mod your bike. Some policies let you mod but will only return you to stock, other policies will cover your custom parts as long as you tell them about them (more expensive).
The cat is in the header so yes. Having said that, those stock mufflers are ridiculously heavy and look to big for the bike in my opinion. Best to do the whole system.
Hi mate. The bend in these pipes follow the same lines as the factory pipes. I would be great to see someone produce a curved version. That would be very cool.
Good morning! One thing to keep in mind when using straight exhaust pipes without catalytic converter or db killer and which is very beneficial to the engine itself is the reduction in engine operating temperature obtained by performing this modification. I have found on my 1993 Suzuki Bandit 400 that the idle temperature is about 200° C, 392°F, after 10 minutes started and on my car, a catalyzed 2021 Abartg 595 Competizione, it reaches about 380°C, 716°F. I have not been able to check the exhaust temperature of the bike when running, but in the car it reaches well over 800°C, 1472°F. By installing an exhaust system without catalytic converter we get the engine to work at a much lower temperature, and that is always positive. Greetings with the middle finger of my hands to Greta Thunberg and the globalists of Agenda 2030.
I didn't mention in my previous message that the temperature point was at the exhaust manifolds of the bike about 15cm from the engine (about 5.9 inches).
I think even street twin spanks this bike in all the categories. However bikes are very personal choice and if you like spending thousands on budget bike and never getting it back who I’m my to say what people should do lol.
@@pipchikas89 These are not investments, they are toys. But seeing as you are so concerned about my financials, I’ll set your mind at ease. Using benchmark depreciation of 25% over two years, a stock Street Twin will cost you £2125 and an RE £1375. All my aftermarket parts can either be re-used or sold separately. So let’s say I get 70% of my £3k investment back. At the end of two years, I have lost £2275 and Mr Speed Twin has lost £2125 (if the bike is 100% stock). Mr Speed twin has also paid more in insurance, servicing and fuel. With that in mind, my losses are in line with expectations. I’m not getting into a debate about what bike spanks what, that’s just silly.
