Motorcycles look nice, hell will freeze over before I’ll ever own an electric motorcycle

Love the new colour range. As far as electric it's a big NO from me. I call them firestarters.

I have never really been interested in the Meteor line of 350's. That is up until now. I have been considering a Classic 350 or a Hunter 350. But that Aurora Green Meteor is a very good looking paint scheme. Now if they only came with a 500cc motor!

You can't beat those prices! I like the increased chrome on rhe engine. Remember the electric cars from the early 1900's? Most people don't because they were a passing fancy. Modern electric vehicles could easily be discontinued and forgotten just the same.

The thought of Electric motorcycles is a terrifying thought. Given the latest coverage in the news of EV's spontanious combusting, the invertible raise of insurance and slump in sales in the car market it looks a non-starter, a pointless exercise to satisfy the 'Green Meanies' The whole point of..... at least one of them, of owning a motorcycle is the sound of the exhaust. From the sonorous thud, thud of a single to the banshee howl of a multi cylinder we all love it don't we....

The green & blue colour schemes look good. Probably would suit the Classic too.

Wow. They certainly made a substantial improvement with the colors on the Aurora. I like the blue. There are still a few small black parts that need to be chrome or silver, especially the fork lowers, turn signals. But it's a lot better than it was. Now if they would just make SILVER cast tubeless wheels for it, I just might buy one.

What's the point in an electric adventure bike, aren't they all about remote long range journeys. Love the new colours of the Meteors.

Those Auroras look superb. I already have a matte black one in my garage, but if I didn't I'd love one of those pastel greens.

All these new models coming(the super meteors that came to the states are all selling out, good but also seeing price raising for demand, going for 8500-9k out the door, love it, but too much for an RE in my opinion, ill stick to the 350 Meteors, better price, but also hope we will see an uptick in quality control ..still seeing warping gauge faces, gremlins in the dash and insane wait times for parts to come in. As for the watch, i think they shouldve done a chrome look, chrome would be a much better fit going along with their classic 350s

I think the tide is turning on electric vehicles with a lot of the major manufacturers, especially in the states, saying they are stopping production as customers don’t want them. There’s a surprise! You can lead a horse to water……..

I love the green, super cool visually. I just wish RE would make that in a 650 single :) I love big thumpers!

Great video as always. I just wanted to comment on the electric motor cycles. I don’t think we will ever see a viable electric motorcycle until battery technology moved on. I have owned electric cars for over 10 years and personally I wouldn’t go back, but as for electric motorcycles I can’t find one that will do the job, but it will come I guess.

The guy or gal coming up the overall design athletic for that green or blue one needs a bonus. I really like the look!

Looks like RE is moving along nicely with new introductions and updates to existing models. The new liquid-cooled Himalayan looks like a serious winner. The electric? I think RE might have been influenced by the bulk of Zero's lineup, which leans more in the dual-sport/ADV realm. Doesn't move me in the least, but it'll be interesting to see how that one plays out. Nice overview, Stu! (One small correction: All Seiko Alpinist watches from the SARB 017 [which I own] onward use Seiko's 6R series movements; the 017 used the 6R15 movement, while current Alpinists use variations on the 6R35 movement, the principal difference between the two being power reserve: the 6R15 sports a 50hr PR, while the 6R35's is 70-72hrs.)

There might be pushback if Royal Enfield insist on presenting a new colourway, plus parts bin detailing, as a new model. Different colours are always welcome, but they do not a new bike make.

Electric scooter can be ok in city environment. The US Zero EV bikes is nice but maybee ok for some. I seldom drive more than 2 -3 hours in weekend with the classic.

so a Himalayan ICE bie will get 200-280 miles out of a tank, the Zero DSR/X will do 115 miles and the bike with the longest range knock out 300, you could argue that being so reliable you can run one without too much access to service - which is a severe issue in my area

Love your comments on RE keeping a close eye on pricing, obviously BMW didn't follow this mantra with the new GS. Living in West Lancashire i do a lot of riding around the trough of Bowland and North Yorkshire including the likes of buttertubs. I've yet to see a charging point in these remote areas so an EV is not on my wish list.

The new Meteors look amazing great blend between the new Supers and the original. The Himi 411 frame might be better suited to going electric and here in the US there is a lot of buzz over all the new eDirtbikes like the Sur Rons.

Didn't much like the look of the previous Meteors (preferring the Classic and Hunter) but those new colours plus the chrome wheels and alloy engine finish look really smart and classy.

Nice colour schemes on the meteors , as for the electric Himalayan ,it's bloody awful, that lump where the engine should be is about as pleasing to the eye as a breeze block with an Enfield badge on it ! As you say not ideal for going out into the wilds, maybe the charging solution would be a solar panel on your back pack ?? 😅

Ahh Stewart how good those watches are remains to be seen , I personally thought they should have a stainless steel strap & as for Samsung phones lasting four days on a charge, I doubt that very much. The new 350s look very nice & should sell well , Royal Enfield always seem to capture the nostalgic look very well. As for electric bikes no thanks not yet & that goes for cars also. Great vlog mate , I quite like the watch saw it last week and thought it looked decent. As for the electric I just cant seem to get on board with it nothing appealing about them for me.

I like the new color schemes on the Auroras. I do, however, wish they had stayed with the alloy wheels. Spokes and tubes are no longer a thing for me. I wonder if they’ve chosen to upgrade the tuning of the Auroras to be more in line with the Hunter? If not, shame on them. Nice review of the limited edition RE timepiece. Certainly would round out anyone’s RE Memorabilia Collection!

Thanks for the vid Stu. We have an electric car and a petrol, and I can see the same thing happening with bikes but for different reasons. The electric car is so easy to drive we love it, but character is what you want riding a bike for a hobby. However, people who have tried electric bikes do say you can hear more of the countryside, and we love connections with the outdoors when riding. So I’ll have a classic, a tourer, a cruiser, a naked and go on then thrown in an electric in case I feel like it 😂

Tried Meteor and Classic. Did like the Meteor better, I don't know why, maybe because I'm a lanky guy, and arms were too forced low with the Classic. I also liked the heel-toe gear shift. The new green colour looks great. I do like the new Bullit too, but I think I'll go for the Meteor. They told me RE complimenti you with an 70's acid when you get it.

What were they thinking when they designed that watch? Do like the Aurora up date though. Nice titbits video thanks.

I much prefer the new colours for the Metore. What is your opinion on the blacked out 650 twins? I'm asking cos I'm interested in the Barcelona blue, but funnily enough, I'm not 100% convinced.

There are villages all over the Himalaya with access to electricity, and if the Guerilla charging system is as you suggest, there shouldn't be a problem if you need to top up your battery.

I think RE need to develop the 350 engine but without requiring it to be water cooled as a bit more performance would really gain traction in the market though for home markets I appreciate that running costs are massive drivers perhaps larger external oil cooler. The Hunter looks the business though the Triumph speed 490 is turning my head too.

RE is, certainly, not standing still. That's a good thing. The Meteor range of bikes should continue to sell very well. As far as the E-Bike? No thanks. I don't ever see one of those in my future. Still hanging on for a Classic 500 Thumper, though.

Thanks again Stu. You spent too much time talking about the watch so I had to fast forward through that part. I love these Meteors. They are a seriously comfortable easy-to-ride bike. Electric bikes? Not for me. I don’t see a big future for them. We already have electric bicycles for commuting.

Seems I've managed to be drawn for the RE watch. Just under 45k entries when I put my name down, now I feel a little sceptical that I've managed to snag one 🤔

For a company that builds affordable bikes for the masses, this watch thing evades my thinking. I'd buy one - maybe not at that price until I know more, but I'm interested. Why limit to 1xx pieces? Don't like games like that - just make and sell them. Nice vid - have a good week! Ride Safe 🙏🏼

Hunters in classic colours would down well. A lot of the old folks are not keen on the “writing” colour ways

You don't need any charging stations if you charge at home. I don't see electric bikes replacing ICE bikes. I see them being a viable option for local fun and commuting. I own TWO e-bikes. We use them a lot. They are not cheap. The e bike space is rapidly growing. I think EV motorcycles are just an extension of that.

Ugly forgettable watch. Stunning new paint options on the Aurora, especially in the green. The change to electric will kill the motorcycle industry and our beloved hobby in time. Thanks for the news.

I think Electric vehicle s are great, I got forced to have one at work, they then had to employe another person and give him an electric van to do half my work! Don’t you just love ! Takes 2+HRs to charge most days.

I'm a definite fan but would ask RE to hold off on engine chrome. Polished aluminum is the way it should be. The black's okay but not chrome, oh Lord, just not chrome!

I'd trade all that paint and tart job for an unrestricted, non speed limited CPU on the Meteor.

My guess why they chose to make an electric Himalayan is to directly compete against CSC motorcycles electric adventure motorcycle.

How long before there's an electric only bike licence which with the passage of time will take ICE bikes off the road?

Noraly is currently riding a petrol Himalayan in India; just imagine if her bike was electric, she’d only be able to travel for an hour or two……pointless for an off road/ touring bike 🤪OK for town bikes & scooters

The 1st image was correct regarding the Electric Himalayan. Looks like he is pushing it, anyone who go,s on a true adventure trip dont expect to be close to any retail outlets let alone a charge station, ridiculous i say vote with your money DONT buy electric motorcycles let them take up room and gather dust in the showrooms .the retailers will soon get the message

Well from everything I've been hearing from my associates in the motor trade, the Eectric car is over, they can't sell them, when they go wrong they are out of action for weeks and the px values are making a second purchase highly unlikely. Plus we won't mention charge rage and cost at motorway services for charging, how easily they are written off ect. REMEMBER THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. And the customers don't want EVs. The Arora looks lovely , the watch looks very purposeful but not attractive, the fact its a limited edition might make it a good investment but not value for money.

I can't see myself ever buying an electric motorcycle. It goes against every reason for riding. I never ride for daily commuting, but rather for 1-2 hours of fun and enjoyment.

RE need to pull their fingers out and complete the accessories for the SM650 before this BS with paint and new himi….. they need to produce what they promised before moving to new products……HO has a lot of answering to do….wont touch another one of their products…..and will warn others off them
