I own a Himalayan which is affectively the same. It now has loosened up and can delivery 90mpg uk. Front brake is bad on this bike but a change of pads makes it stop so much better.
Nice review. I like all the bikes ive owned (13 or 14 since 1989..).. ive swapped the levers, mirrors, air filter and end pipe on my scram.. and added a small rack and wind shield.. She's a little ripper. Ive not yet experienced it run out of puff or power. I ride the slow bike fast... sometimes. And cruise the rest of the time. I feel my motorbike licence is finally safe... cheers muz from oz

Great video and great little bike I think though that a few hundred quid more and 30bhp would just open the bikes appeal up so much more Breathless at 60mph isn't good, especially when 125's can come tonking past Make it capable of over 70mph and I'm interested for sure
Sorry but a 125 coming past no way jose unless you 12 stone...I know cos ride a 125 thats 14.5 bhp! I do agree 30 bhp would have prob sold me as it am in 2 minds re the 20/24 bhp R Enfields.
Why try to make this or any of the RE's sonething that they are not, these are being marketed to us folks that want to just amble around....just my 2 cents
The weak front brake issue on the scram and himi, has been an issue for quite some time . Why can't Royal Enfield sort this on going problem with these brakes, out once and for all ? Cheers Brian
Am leaning toward the Zontes GK at this point as its 40bhp or the KTM 390. But havent test ridden any of the R Enfields yet. Just being on the larger side n 6ft plus.
Didn’t love the Himalayan but everything I felt needed changing for my purposes has now been changed. Change that exhaust and it runs out of too end a lot less. Choked to hell from euro 5 crappy standards
Kind of disappointing these days for a motorcycle to have weak brakes especially with ABS. Itchy Boots I've been following her channel for years and her current adventures from South America on her way to Alaska.
70 is fine for me but does that mean it only goes 50 up hills? I really want this bike but I'm worried I'm going to have lorries up my backside on the M1 when going up a hill. I know it's not what its for but I do a couple of junctions on the motorway and my 125 used to be down to 55 up hill and that would do 75+ downhill.
I've got a Himalayan and it can do pretty much the same speed up hill as on the flat. That's the the thing that surprised me, it dosent feel that much different, fully loaded with a pillion, or on your own. Mine is kept in Spain, the area we live has some serious climbs and it just delivers.
