I’ve been to a scenic south rim overlook of the bridge and canyon on horseback. It is pretty spectacular how steep and narrow the canyon walls are to a river only 50-60’ wide.
I had no idea you could even drive across this bridge; I thought it was purely for pedestrians and cyclists only. Thanks for the video, this was great to watch!
I used to go over the Thames every day with a nice view of the river whilst stuck in traffic. I can not imagine being in traffic stuck on this bridge, amazing view though. I like bridges.
I wonder how many people have gotten run over from lack of paying attention? Love the clouds, and mountains. Looks like a very pretty day. Thanks for posting!!
Very cool stuff, nice production, great scenery, love the 50 flags idea, nice touch. I would go nuts with all those sheeple meandering around the bridge like that , uggh, better you than me :)
I was on this bridge 2xs in my late teens.. the 2nd time I managed to walk half way and turned around to head back.. funny coz I was and still deathly afraid of heights ..it just made it worse when cars moved it.. I actually panicked and had an anxiety attack lol my dad had to come and walk me back.. but I loved the views .. thanks for the memorys .
The high walls on the Hoover Dam bridge were built to intentionally hide the view. 1. They didn't want people driving over to freak out over the height and 2. They didn't want anyone tempted to stop and take photos. Considering that the Royal Gorge is the same height as the observation decks of Stratosphere Las Vegas, I have to imagine driving at that height was a little freaky!
Scariest bridge I've ever driven over. The road surface is wooden plank, which rattles as you drive over it. You can also see through the gaps in the planks to the river over 1000 feet below.
i love the music you put to the videos, it always goes well with the vids. Just wondering, do you like mango's, lessov's, or kazusa's productions in music?
I am going to Colorado Springs in a few months, and would like to visit this bridge while I am there. Do any of you know if there is an entrance fee for pedestrians? or is it only for the cars? 45$ sounds a bit steep, just to look at the bridge.
Gonza There is an entrance fee for pedestrians and it's $19 for adults. Also, I'm pretty sure they closed off vehicle traffic to the bridge since the 2013 fire. I was just there a couple weeks ago and the vehicle gate to the bridge was closed. If you want to go the cheap route like I did (and quick because I had to catch a flight) then just park in the parking lot and walk to the edge of the canyon to see it. Although, since they did have a fire and lost all of their buildings it's best to at least buy something from the gift shop to help out.
I appreciate the writing at the bottom of the screen but me like most people wasn’t wearing my glasses so I couldn’t read it. The writing is too small it would be better to be narrated. I think I would’ve enjoyed the video more if you showed the depth of the canyon and more of the bridge and how it was built
Senator Bennett Pettersson What size monitor do you have and are viewing this video from? The resolution is 1920*1080p 60I Frames a second. To view this resolution and FPS, I wouldn’t recommend viewing on a screen less than 32 Inches.
