I wish I had watched this before I went out last Saturday.I've learnt so much from watching this video and know exactly what I was doing wrong.thank you for making this video,it has been a massive help.Ill be taking my Royal Manufacturing 56" Hybrid back out on Friday, and hopefully find some nice Scottish gold.Cheers.
Here's a little tip on the cleanups: Before lifting my sluicebox up out of the water for cleanups I slide my bucket up under the foot end of my sluicebox, then lift the head of box & stand bucket/sluicebox up. I have never lost any thing with any accidental flush outs while lifting sluicebox up this way. Happy hunting every body!
When your stream is wide enough try setting two boxes in tandum...that way you don't have to pause between the shovel fulls...load one then the other, no intervels, no waiting for the box to clean out...I've even set up three boxes side by side , and you can really move material fast. The more material you can move , the more gold you can go home with...thanks.
thanks for another video,, i bought a 48 in folding sluice about 3 years ago, at first i had a few things i didnt like and just kept working with it.. i realized set up was every thing.. making it stable. ,also not doping the material.. i hope royal doesn't mind me saying this on here, but i used there sluice in another application as a recirculating sluice box. to go along with my rock crusher i built.. when everything is stable i have never found gold below the first riffle. nova scotia rock crusher or nova scotia sluice box thanks royal great sluice!
Hey Jack! Thanks for the feedback. We are constantly making improvements in our products. You should check out our Deep Ribbed Rubber Matting, it is now used on all our sluice boxes.
I have this same 54" sluice and a 30"as well. sometimes I run the carpet, and sometimes I use miners moss and ribbed mat. It doesn't miss is built like a tank. Royal makes great stuff.
First of all we would like to apologize for such a late response . We are now on top of our RU-vid questions, this is kind of new. With that said we would like to thank you for your comments and are pleased to know that you are happy with our products.
Royal Manufacturing Industries better late than never. luckily RU-vid doesn't affect your quality. ha ha ha. let me know if you need someone to test out your folding sluice box
Heyo Heyo! Proud new owner of a Royal Manufacturing folding sluice box and I’ve added the recirculating head too! Putting it to the test here in Arizona and I can confirm: it has scored me the biggest picker yet! Just curious: do you folks interact with your RU-vid audience much? The Gold Prospecting channels seem to be booming! Thanks! 🙌🏼🇺🇸👋🏼🌵🤠 Howdy! From Arizona!
Use Sand Bags for the Dam... Fast Fast Fast Setup.. And more water flow.. Amazon has them for like $25 for 50 and the Ez-Bagger scoop for filling it cost like $30
At the end of your panning to get those rocks out all you have to do is swish your water back and forth left and right. Done right the bigger lighter rocks will lift up and out as you tilt the pan
Well on one hand this was a terrible video absolutely no planing by the manufacture. He kept saying I forgot to bring this or if we had that. But on the other hand it was a great video because it shows how easy and versatile it is when we do forget to bring stuff with us. If the manufacture can forget and leave things home then you know us part time prospectors will definitely do the same. Great video great product !!!!
If you "thought" you spotted Gold and if it was being washed down than you were probably mistaken for something that looked like gold but much lighter for it to be washed down the table.
Good video, but kind of a whiner when you work. Oldtimers from back in the day might raz you about that. Saving up for that fold up sluice now. Thanks.
I had the same thought about old timers working hard with their hands and knees not complaining. Table height tubs weren't no thing. Sorry, but great video. :)
Some legs on it would help a lot more so you don`t have to look for any spot for the water and do a dam up for the water flow . Just adjust the legs and your set and ready to go
I hate to criticize, but watching this video I have to say that your not using your sluice proficiently. Your hold down rocks are in the way of the flange slick plate. Put them lower on the box so you can use more of the flanged slick plate for better recovery.
