My beautiful 21 year old boy was accepted into the Marines, where his grandad and uncles served, but two days after he died after a work accident. His name was/is Paul Lee, i just wanted to post his name.
Aw so sorry for your loss he must have been a fine tough young man to have been sccepted into the marines my uncle was marine of the year many years ago you can be So proud of your boy 👦
I am a Brit Para and we know that this is the finest military band in the world bar none. The turn out is always exceptional and the drill is superb and always great tunes but the drums, stirs the heart. By god there are days when its great to be a Brit.
The Queen looking out over her balcony "here come my boy's" she has got to be the proudest woman alive with all her military personnel. Can you even imagine looking out of your bedroom window and seeing this marching down your road just for you? Mind blowing stuff from everyone involved.
I'm a UK citizen...English with Scottish and Welsh heritage...I guess there will be Irish ancestry in there also😊...so proud to be part of a nation that produces such men as these...
What a privilege it is to belong to the commonwealth 🤔👍.... and to have our communities honoured by our militaries.. the disciplined young me and women... following generations...🇳🇿
No marching band can ever better the sight of The Royal Marines. The uniforms, the dressing, and the music, are the best ever.A wonderful sight. And those Drum Majors are second to none. The Marines leave the Household Bands for dead.
They have a high standard and not anybody gets into a band straight away, they have to qualify first after a number of years. They are the best and keep those standards high. Even the USMC band when marching with them as guest visitors, march a hell of a lot better and they even swing their arms higher........
I believe this is the most poweful Royal band in the world . You feel a vibrant power in the sound of these brilliants notes and the most powerful and disciplined way to deliver it .
The best mass bands are In The U.K. along with the best pomp and ceremony in the world. No other country does it better. It makes you proud to have been in the Armed Forces
Terrific performance from the world's premier Military Band. The Massed Bands of HM Royal Marines ....... Finest in the world ........ Second to none. Just look at the straight lines from the drummers, whether they're 10 across initially, or moving onto 20 across ....... Quite incredible and shows the world why they're the best for three things; 1) military precision 2) musical ability 3) outstanding performance ........ SuperNutkin
I'm am so relieved these chaps were on our side during two world wars in the bloodiest century in world history. I hope we always will be allies in the conflicts to come. With deepest respect and admiration from the United States.
george grover. Hats off to your dad and grandfather. I'm a 74 year old former Royal Marine, and I think it's great that we can see these videos so that we can wallow in our memories of those good times that we had in uniform when we were young.
Imma marching ass myself from the USA was in the Col.Charles young post #682..drum & bugle for over 38yrs we was the best State champs..lookin at this drumline is awesome the music is right on...love watching them they're the best..STRUTTING WIT THAT SWAG..PRIDE IT IS...LOVIT!!!😉
Richard Keen. Estoy muy de acuerdo con usted. Creo que es asi mismo soy un Sargento de Caballería en retiro del Ejercito de Uruguay. Le envio respetuoso saludo.
Omg the British Royal Marines . I think they hardly lost a fight in 300 years . Fierce proper soldiers . I think they had the fear drummed out of them . Unbelievable training . Can you imagine the British marines and the Gurkhas coming at you . 😱
One of the joys of serving on the Aussie Flagship the carrier H.M.A.S. "Melbourne" in years gone by- when we did voyages of any length we always had the "Band" with us. Entering a foreign port as we "manned ship" with the Band playing as it surfaced on the flight deck via the lift well is something i shall always remember- goosebumps stuff!
I was on Horse Guards for the ceremony and therefore not able to see the full march off to barracks. Great to see it. They are PERFECTION in every respect.
Remember them at the RM School of Music, Deal, Kent. They lead the town's carnival and were definitely the main event, absolutely Brilliant!! I'm from an RAF family, but still think the Royal Marines Band is the best military band we have.
i remember being in the royal marine cadets as a drummer playing in the naval parade every year through our town and being very proud of how smart our band were they always had us at the rear off the parade, save the best for last lol i also remember the hard work drilling and practice we put in hrs hrs of work, was it worth fuck yeah especially when you here the crowds shouting here come the marine band at last
I've always been proud of the fact that my maternal granddad was a Royal Marine band master at Portsmouth's Eastney barracks and taught at the RM school of music. I was told that he used to entertain Queen Victoria on his clarinet at Osbourne House on the Isle of Wight. I know I'm biased but still think they're the best.
@@brendafont2926 Look at the battle honours of the Royal Marines, they aren't people pretending to be soldiers. When the Royal Marines get into a fight, they usually win.
Beautiful music, thank goodness to the the lads and lasses from HMRM Bandservice, you have no peer around the globe, the epitome for every other bandservice to try and achieve, which would be hard, or damn near impossible to emulate.🥰👍🥰
I was in the Navy and the only times we marched after boot camp was while I was stationed in Naval air facility Mildenhall England for their remembrance parades. Great times
The British Royal Marines are a serious serious fighting machine . You would not want to fight this lot in a straight fight. Far too professional with training and tradition. Just ridiculously good .
Right on Tom Brydson..I had the opportunity to see the Royal Marines massed bands many years ago during a holiday in Britain. Definitely a highlight of my life. There is not a military band anywhere to compare with their excellence.
Ever since growing up in Deal, Kent I saw these guy's every Sunday on the sea front doing what they do best - to say they are good is an understatement they are up there with Guards in fact I'd go as far to say that they are better it's a rare thing to see the massed bands on parade these day due to the bloody Government cut backs
I don't the source of your contention of 'about 5ft 2' but remember really good things sometimes come in smaller packages. The Royal Marines are the crem-de-la-crem.
Love it, can't get enough of those drums AND music! Wish I could see one of these marches some day in person but until then thank you for sharing your videos!
As a retired US Marine myself, I admire the heck out of the Royal Marines. One question though, what is the historical/traditional significant of certain drummers and the bass drum players wearing those tiger outfits over their blues?
Colonial days when officers used to hunt exotic game when posted in the colonies. It's just a fancy looking apron and military band tradition. They are transitioning to faux skins now but even the real skins were from animals that died naturally or hunted long ago.
Hello Richard Fox, thanks for replying. I saw (one of) the Royal Marines Bands in London many years ago. Amazing. You're right. Not only are they all great musicians but the discipline. And yes...the drum corps. WOW! Regards, Bob in Ontario, Canada
Rob Tro Hello Bob from ontario. How are you doing? . Dunno about yourself I've always enjoyed military music since i was young. I'm sure like you I've got my favourite band HM MARINES to me are top every time and have been a favourite since i was 6ish
really? We bailed you out in WW2 While taking japan on basically by ourselves. Your statement is pure BS. In Iraq we we sending missles through 2 feet wide windows thousands of miles away and you British were dumbfounded. We had to supply you with the technology to catch up. Really?
John Adams not to mention the British forces largely influencing the current American forces today. E.g. the green berets have that name after the Royal Marines green beret and also all special forces are based of of the first regiment of special forces to most relatable to today which was the SAS. Can eve say that the catapult system you have on your boats was a British invention and most military technology was British invented
Oh John Adams, don't even go there! I could write a bloody essay in response, but you aren't worth it. You are talking bullshit and, not only are you insulting us, you are insulting your own!
@@Bandfanone. as an ex bootneck myself Ide have to agree with you dude, the UK would have been totally fucked and over run by the grand scale masses of Hitler's Nazi's without the USAs financial & military support, I've worked with the US & Dutch marines all a great bunch of touch nut geezers, so just saying to anyone that never got a Green lid.. it's the most physically demanding & mind bending tush challenge you could ever imagine doing in your entire life.. full kudos to every single dude that ever got the treasured GREEN BERET & to anyone that didn't, a tune I've composed 4 ya'll.. enjoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P6N6AjkSSFg.html
During the 2012 Olympics there was a great atmosphere, military personnel everywhere, we were walking along the Mall and a troop of life guards came along on MASSIVE black horses, my daughter was about 7 and went "wooo!" and one of the guards looked down and smiled at her, made her day.
I always remember the story of an American sailor looking over the side of his ship and down at a Royal Navy destroyer moored alongside , he said to the British sailor what,s it like to be in the second largest navy in the world , the British sailor replied pretty good what,s it like to be in the second best, Rule Britannia.
It is not the size that matters that it is what you do with it , and i know when the statement was made my uncle was 10 yards away when the statement was made , and if i am dumb as you put it at least i know how to spell my own name it starts with a capital letter as in Stuart you dumbo.
Just a little footnote to your reply my uncle served on HMS Papua or K588 an American built ship i think she was a frigate but i am not sure , he was a on a visit to the British ship when the comment was made again i am not sure about the 2 ships involved , i have written proof of this incident in his war diary unfortunately he is no longer with us having passed away approx, 20 years ago.
What a prize prick. Do you esteem to be a buffoon, or does it come naturally. Stuart Mason was retelling a story of banter between different militaries, which goes on day to day, its how military humour works. Prick.
I couldn't agree more I'm privileged to live in the Naval City of Plymouth and the Royal Marines/Navy have been based here for hundreds of years. We are proud and highly supportive of the Marines and the Marines band Plymouth. 👍🇬🇧
What is it about Marines? No matter what country they fight for there is just this elan about them. As an American, I’m very proud of our Corps. But there is just something about this march. God bless the RM, the USMC, and all Marines.
Great video. Took some work, but well worth it. The best I've seen of the Marines in full formation across the Mall. Great precision marching with fantastic music. Thanks.
Ken Buckley they were superb, keeping the lines nice and straight, I always prefer the navy, dress blues and blanco, they are so smart, and they can march and play at the same time and keep a nice line, well done
