Royal Purple Smokebush 

My grandparents’ smoke bushes grew fast! Around 10-20 feet in 10 years!

Mine is pruned into a tree, doesn’t die back in newly zone 7B northern VA - one of my absolute favorite plants in my garden !!

I have a Royal and a Winecraft Black. Both are very young. They’ll put on a welcome show once they grow a bit. The leaves are great colour that gives depth to a garden hugging a stone promontory. We have Bono hydrangeas around them. Lovely contrast.
