At the age of 28, I realized that being alone is better than being surrounded by the fake people in my life. I remained alone for 6 yrs, made my career, buy my own flat, wandered & explored new places with solo trips. It was a great experience. Finally, I got married with the person who actually loves me and prioritize me.
True. Yet it's sad that she needed to lie to relax & rejuvenate for sometime. The wife/mother has too many responsibilities which can easily be shared by others.
@@saumyajoshi8318 agree,, if she would have said that she wants to stay for another fortnight, they would have harassed her with phone calls and reminded her of all the responsibilities, which they just presume to be hers, and also that she has no right to enjoy her life
It is better to be alone than being in the company of a hell lot of people and feel alone. Be yourself, love yourself and celebrate your own self... Is the best way to live life
I realized this sometime after the movie ended, that there was only Shefali, and noone else in the film. Brilliant acting! Resonates with most of the Indian bahus' feelings🙌

This movie gives a wonderful message, you don't need someone to be happy, you can enjoy your own company, stop making people happy, do what u love and that makes u happy..❤❤❤

She became vegetarian Jain for her family inspite of loving non vegetarian food....loved the way she cherished her food..and wore whatever she wanted to..
the focus on the nonveg food was so lovely... and how she abruptly hung up! but the unfortunate reality it's only a miniscule percent of women who are privileged like her, to have a huge space to herself and the luxury of solitude. I wish my mum could enjoy a haven like that once.
No, you can do all this in a small flat too, you don't need a bathtub or swimming pool, you just need an empty flat and some rest...just swiggy/Zomato in the food.
@@sulaganabiswas well, for people with OCD, just swiggy/zomato-ing the food isn't as easy as it is sound. every time we get takeout is a detailed procedure... a living in a flat can feel like a prison even if you're by yourself... depending on what your place means to you
@@mariavincent1750 in your first comment you didn't specify you were talking about women with OCD. Anyone with OCD needs medical help, it's a different case altogether. I am talking abt an ordinary overworked woman who can get a break from daily thankless jobs by being alone in her flat and ordering in food and just relaxing all day

OCD was just an example. It is generally hard for an ordinary indian woman to be alone in her house, since there will always be someone around. And a previous comment on class privilege is yet another example why Shefali's experience may not be always relatable. But if the conditions seem suitable, yes she could unwind and relax the way she's comfortable. It's a rare luxury no doubt.
No one can act like shefali. She is a natural actor like she’s born to act .. gods gift. I love her best performance was in Delhi crime. She was spectacular in that film. ❤️

I love it how some of the younger women are so self-assured, confident which comes with financial independence which gives freedom to choose and lead the life they want to live.
The liberty of letting your age fly into the clouds ( balloons) , the irony in the dialogue " main akela do Jan k sath kaise sambhalunga' , each and every frame, the colour palette , the silence of 'nothing ', so meaningful. Loved it

Exactly..I have told my mom multiple times to enjoy herself ..but she always gets busy in family stuffs and relatives..she had done a lot for us..I try to encourage her going for vacation but she prefers staying home .

This is so true. No matter how much you do for your family, those little things that they never notice you do. How much thought & preparation goes into even the smallest of detail even with all your own work. And that line where the grandma says to her "you won't believe these three children of mine have thrown me such a great surprise party' after she being the one who arranged it all to go so smoothly....
Watched it twice!! Excellent! I loved it. Lives of women are always occupied by responsibilities. She got the taste of freedom. A 14 days vacation....yeh!! Her stupid husband was already afraid...noticed he spoke about isolation 😆😆

Shefali chhaya is a class actor.. No airs, no attitude. She adapts herself into her roles queit naturally. Hope all have seen her last short film where she keeps working in the kitchen cooking and husband ordering food for their guests..
Shefali Shah has impeccably implicated the plight of a partially not favored woman of a family. No matter how hard she works towards cherishing and celebrating the relationships of her life, there is someone who would constantly nag and some people who would constantly steal the thunder. She is simply superb. Have always played the realistic roles. Good husband, good wife, best couple is a myth. Its better to live alone and enjoy than in a society where people are double faced. Liked the way she enjoyed the cake, food and peace in solitude.

Its displaying a life of a lady who always sacrificed her interests prioritizing others. None ever paid any heed to her though they are enjoying their life. Now when she starts to enjoy being herself, she is again pulled. The climax shows she just wants to spend life for herself. What a lovely script and great cast!! applause 👏👏👏👏👍
It is sad how she has to be fake in order to adjust to reality. She got to be her true self for such a short time, and that too due to an unexpected circumstance. Sigh.....
I wish I could give like a hundred likes to this movie!! Loved the portrayal of each and every small detail that speaks volume.. her last movie juice and this one had this in common.. she speaks less her expression and the things happening around her speak more.. which is just fab !! And yes.. someone truly said that when loneliness is seeked and not forced.. it can be a blessing..
I think this is not the subject chosen...it is something that every woman faces in her life with so much responsibilities and then also doing way beyond anyone can do to keep the family happy and going!! What an acting by Shefali Shah Ma'am!! Was already a fan to you but wanna say that this movie has made me understand the mistakes that we do to our mother, teacher, companion, sister or any woman❤️❤️!! Lovely direction, Heartfelt writing, and a fantabulous performance indeed!!
Hmm, this was so beautifully shot and such a simple story. It's frustrating when no one takes your efforts seriously despite the fact that you trying so hard to do something special. Mehn add that being alone during lockdown. it was interesting and kinda cute. I give Shefali an A for effort and I hope she continues to tell stories, she's such an amazing actor
