I knew it would happen but not this soon. To be fair, he was an elite pitcher in the NPB for 7 years with pretty much no injury history.

Because he's slow, has no range at second, doesn't hustle down the line on any ground out, and slaps at the ball like he's playing girls softball. Other than that, yeah, Lux is a stud.

I guess it's what you do after walking the bases loaded and on the 12th pitch of an at bat. LA fan here, but kudos to Melendez for a great at bat.

@@Droogs 10 - 12 in their last 22 games is actually below average. The rest of the league has neither the payroll nor expectations that LA has. Right now, they are average at best.

That makes them average - at least during that stretch. I'm not talking about the whole season or for a single series or two. If you don't have concerns with their mediocre play, good for you. @@Ekim21144It’s actually exciting. I saw that stretch they had earlier this season where they were playing exactly like you would expect a lineup like their’s to. I can’t wait to see what this team can do when they find their stride.

@@JonathanAufderheide-ln8pr Agree. My concern is their as yet inability to find their stride when they are struggling more than expected, like the last 22 games or so. If it happens in the playoffs, it will be a disappointing early exit. Yes, the regular season is a marathon, not a sprint, but they playoffs are mini sprints of best of 5 or 7.

@@maxvanhorn8678 2019 Game 5 NLDS 10th inning. Joe Kelly gave up a single and 2 walks and Kendrick blasted a Slam to end LA's season and help propel WSH to WS win.

Treinen isn’t a relief pitcher but roberts took a chance because when treinen’s cooking, he could go 2-3 innings. It was a bad outing but I’d take treinen over grove, ramirez, or yarborough anyday.

@@Ekim21144 I haven’t really been following LA that long to be honest. But from what I’ve seen this season, I wouldn’t call Kelly good. But as I said, I don’t him anymore than this season’s performance

@@maxvanhorn8678 Sure, whether Kelly is having a good year or not wasn't my point. And whether or not you describe him as "good" wasn't either. In 2019, he was pretty reliable out of the pen and the sequence I referenced ended LA's season because of Roberts' ongoing pattern of bad decisions in these types of situations. So, nothing new for this team under Roberts.

I wouldn't say being 10 games over .500 is on par with the A's. And I think you guys have had far more embarrassing losses this year. The Dodgers fans' smugness is a reason I always root against them come postseason. That, and the Dodgers supporting a Satanist organization last summer.

The Royals have like a quarter of the team budget that the dodgers do and don’t even have that much worse of a record
