Slaughterhouse really did humble Royce. His music became less about his aspirations and accomplishments. He really grew as an artist in the last decade. I’m glad I witnessed this shit. Ever since layers his music has been much more important. He pretty much said in that song hard that he was seeing his self change.

He had a different idea for the Slaughterhouse sound, as in he wanted them to have their own identity/personality. Not just be another D12. That’s why he constantly salutes Griselda, because they’re signed to Shady but they move like they’re independent. They have they’re own sound, identity, and personality. Unlike in 2001, people have tired of hearing Em's gimmicky flow and needlessly convoluted wordplay - yes, it sounds impressive, but it doesn't add up to much in the way of meaningful lyrics. On the other hand, Jay has evolved his style and lyrical content to the point where he outshines everyone he's on a song with. The real reason Nas won't do a song with Royce is Nas doesn't fuck with Eminem. Because when Jay and Nas were beefing, Eminem had Jay and Nas both do a track for 8 mile. He wouldn't let the Bravehearts be in Nas's song but he let Jay have Beanie and Bleek on his. Then Em rejected 2 songs that had Jay z disses in them, he told Nas he didn't want that conflict on the 8 mile cd but he allowed Jay, Beans and Bleek to diss Nas on their track on 8 mile.......... Afterwards Nas and Eminem had tension, Eminem snuck dissed Nas 'I'm no gangster but you're not neither, but we both no that I spit either, ill shit all across your belly, show you that I'm not R Kelly' so Nas actually dissed Eminem in 2 different songs. Dre told Eminem, don't beef with Nas, he has the streets so you'll never win......... Eminem produced the cross onNas's godson album to try to squash the beef but even after producing that track Nas told Steve Stoute that he'd never fuck with Eminem again.....Look all this shit up, Eminem avoided that beef because he knew he wouldn't win. Nas had just flamed Jay and 50.

To the Nas thing....Nas I notice is "selective" on who he collabs with......lowkey I wonder if the competitive fire to spit darts with another dope MC without the whole "who had the better verse" comes into play when cats like Em, Royce, etc names are brought up. I know these legendary rappers guard that "legacy" from not being tainted or even give other MC's the ability to say I "one upped" on em.

4:57 bruh.....I have been asking this and waiting for this collaboration since I was in junior highschool(2001).....and the shit STILL hasn’t happened. Good lord....I wanted this collab so bad I actually thought of a concept for Nas’ Untitled album back in 2007/2008 when hype was being built up for it, where Nas and Em go back and forth about the usage of the word, its double standard between which race uses it, different meanings etc.(sort of like what Nas brought up in “Yall My Niggas”). I’m glad someone finally asked this.
@jman1562001
@jman1562001 4 года назад
Word that shit would have been DOPE AS HELL.....and it would be on some concept shit and not taken as a competitive thing. Would have been great for the the culture for two MCs to really tackle a subject like that on a record!!! Probably even more beneficial for Em too!!!

Eminem really doesn't collab with anyone. You have to prove it and make it clear that you have the talent. To see Royce being in many many Em's songs again and again is a testimony of how great he is. Very underrated.
@BlackMusicGenre
@BlackMusicGenre 4 года назад
What's so great about Young MA ? No disrespect but how is Juice World amazingly talented? Eminem did those collaborations as a business move because those artists are popular with the younger generation so he's trying to get some sales from that demographic.
@311kratos
@311kratos 4 года назад
@@BlackMusicGenre Juice is not talented? Have you seen that one hour freestyle? He killed it, he made a whole album of freestyle. But when it comes to MA I can't disagree with you that she's not as talented as Juice and no where near Eminem level, but her style and her confidence is something to admire. You should watch Eminem interview on Music To Be Murdered By, he explains why he admires MA. It's her image and how she carries herself.
@311kratos

@@311kratos Ok. If you want to deny the proof in front of you then so be it. But why would he collaborate with these kids in the first place if he doesn't mess with their line of music/generation. Is it what I said in my orginal post or is it that Eminem is a hypocrite? You know Eminem loved to diss pop stars all but to turn around and make pop-ish music .
@311kratos
@311kratos 4 года назад
@@BlackMusicGenre Eminem doesn't hate the new generation. He simply hates mumble rap. Doesn't mean he hates every single rapper from the newer generation.
