I love how this car isn't backhalfed and it doesn't have stupid 20" rims on it. It's just a really clean RX-3 that happens to be packing a monster under the hood.
I’ve always wanted a Mazda with a four rotor. They do little waddles as they wait in anticipation to leave the competition in the dust. And those engines always sound angry and chomping at the bit to beat their last pr.
You can order them from Mazdaspeed in Japan and probably the US as well; 10 years ago the price was about USD37,000, probably closer to 50k now. You need to have an approved Mazdaspeed account in order to purchase.
The 26b engine is only peripheral port only and also have 3 spark plugs per rotor so the rotor casings are very different from the 13b. Also the rotors for the 26b from mazdasport are racing spec, also different apex seals. A genuine mazdasport 26b is nothing like two 13b stuck together.
TankEnMate exactly, all of these "aftermarket" 4 rotors arent genuine 26b's and without a doubt would have different housings as does the 20b. Who cares though, 4 rotor is a 4 rotor and it sure as fuck does not cost 50k usd for the 4 rotor in this car.
+stuntman xtra - Look buddy, the engine is not the reason the car didn't run a 6; the chassis is. If you put a turbo on this car it would only spin more. BY THE WAY --- WRITING IN ALL CAPS DOES NOT MAKE YOU LOOK SMART!
richiesworld1 - In NA config, each rotor can produce over 200hp.... thats over 800hp without any boost. A big single turbo setup would be 1,500hp EASILY! E A S I L Y!
haha yes it sounds like it, but in the end it's still a little 2.6L N/A engine so mid 10s@130+ with a manual 'box is AWESOME!!! If they squeezed absolutely everything out of this little motor (n/a that is) and dialed the launch it would be in the 9's no doubt. Turbo it and you're getting in the 6s (cbr rx2...)
