I'm doing the self study method for my Advanced as well. Passed the written first try. I'm going to be $223 CAD all in once I am done my Flight Review. Not for everyone. Thanks for your perspective.
Hi, I just bought two drones one under 250 grams and one over. I want to get licensed which is how I came across your video on you tube... I really appreciate the video and found it very informative....actually I'm not through it yet though lol, I stopped to write this when you mentioned you are from Victoria. As am I :) hey neighbor!!
Thank you for the great detailed information Manuel. It is very helpful. I just successfully completed my Basic and looking to eventually get my Advanced. I work in Victoria as well, maybe our paths will cross some day. Great website and portfolio too. Cheers!
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm planning to get the advanced certification soon, after having the basic one for almost 2 years, flying mostly just my Mini 2.
Hi there thank you for this video and sharing your detailed breakdown of your flight review experience. Oh, if anyone knows of an Android equivalent to Flight Ready, please let me know. :-) Sounds like one fantastic app.
Very useful video, especially glad to see you're in Victoria! I'm prepping for my advanced. I'm curious after passing what's your workflow look like from getting the job to getting the permissions needed to fly for said job when a larger majority of places down here are restricted airspace. Standing licence? Or the turn around time is quicker than 30 business days?
How do you learn to fly your drone if you need a license to fly your drone ? Perhaps a stupid question... Also, what are the advantages of the advanced license? And is it expensive?
learn using a "toy" drone or smaller drones under 250grams in weight. You can get these from places like Walmart. Its best to crash these cheaper drones while getting used to controls rather than spend possibly hundreds for damage on a more expensive drone.
Did your flight reviewer Send you the layout of the area so you had time to set up your flight plan. Did you do it after you got there and then you had to take time
The flight ready app i am seeing is for FAA aviation exam. There is an app call RPAS Pilot Ground School for 179.99 it looks like the app you showed here.
Thank you for the informative video! However, I can't seem to find the flight ready app in the app store. The closest one is for flying drones in the US. Any suggesting?
Bonjour Manuel.... I'm in Nova Scotia and I would love to fly with you if you ever come to Cape Breton. I also fly DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and a DJI Mini SE. I want to get my Advanced License but I dont think I have an applicable drone for the certification portion. I cant afford a new drone at the moment so I will have to wait.
I would contact different examiner and see if they would accept one of your done. It is all about showing you can fly safely and you have a solid plan of something go wrong. Happy flying!
