It’s cool that advantage/disadvantage affects the rolls more towards mid-range than the extremes. A little more complicated than it may appear. I think advantage/disadvantage is one of the greatest innovations in modern rpgs. It gives a substantial advantage, but, you really don’t know how much of an advantage until you roll. Rolling one specific number twice is the one thing (1/6×1/6=1/36 in 2D6), rolling doubles (1-1,2-2,3-3,4-4,5-5,6-6 in 2D6) is another (as each double has 1/36 chance, rolling any of the doubles have 6×1/36=1/6, the same chance as the number of sides the dice have). Chances of rolling doubles: 2D4 (1/4), 2D6 (1/6), 2D8 (1/8), etc. This is relevant in systems that rolling doubles trigger especial effects.
