Just watched the video again and wanted to say thanks. You didn't come out and say it sucks cause a wire broke. You gave a run down on some mods and some faults that you fixed. Every RC car or truck has some problems. Its just a matter of dealing with it. Thanks again. I just ordered one.
and for the motor wire problem i found out that if you bend the taps over the sides of the motor like floppy ears and re solder the wires to the out side you can fix the broken wire problems just use heat shrink and the taps wont touch the metal casing of the motor im fixing to do another update on my crawler but have a few videos you can check out if you want as well
Its been about 3 weeks and alls well. Like some others I had a servo go bad but I was prepared. I replaced both with metal gear hi torque servos andits still going strong. I'm really liking this car. I got an extra battery.
Stock ties isn't to bad if you can soften them up, I used a box cutter to make the tire more grippy i guess, and drilled a few hole down the center of the tire, seems to work, cheaper then buy new tires, but I don't care for much of a competition truck, But I do like modding it tho, Steel gears is a must for the RS10 tho.
Awesome video thanks for addressing the problems with this crawler I just bought one and I'd hate to get it out on the trail & something break & not be able to figure out what broke but with you'r help I'll be able to get my Rs10 just as nice as yours so thanks
I like how you moved lowers in.. I changed my shocks with the redcat everest 10 bc they h!ve more travel and that made my lowers hit the motor when it flexed so I moved mine outward.. I can lay either axle vertical with the other still horizontal with still about ¼" of shock rod left for travel.. I also went with ¾" wheel spacers and rock crusher tires they are 5¾" tall
just watched you video about your redcat and i to own the same redcat mine i went more of a scaler style and it looks good but i did the 540 size motor upgrade and it was a pain in the neck just giving you the heads up not only do you have to trim the diff housing you have to redrill the motor screw holes and theres not much room they litteraly have to be righ against the inner wall but it will fit i would suggest using a more powerfull 360 size brushed or brushless 1/16th scale motor
Thank you for the nice video, I just got a RS10 XT and doing all these mods, and i have question, since these after market servo has a huge torque, does this need a separate BEC ?
Thanks for the vid you gave me some good ideas I just bought one for 40$ used no controller and one servo shot out about the 540 motor do they bolt up or do you have to make a mounting plate ? I don't know a lot about the crawler any help you can give would be great
Hi there ive got a rs10 but the upper suspension links that came stock are different to yours are they original the one's you got if not tell me where i can get them as i have a large lipo battery pack and cant mount in cuz they get in the way thanks alot
Hey, unfortunately they r not metal gearing ( well when i bought mine 4 years ago they wernt) and apparently they had a issue of stripping very easy but mines pretty much stock apart from my steering servos and a bigger battery, and its been perfect the tires i ended up going foam less and it ended up being perfect the tires im in a warm area most the time pretty hot days so my tires r usally warm and they mold over the terrain easy as.
Thanks for the vid. I have a Rampage Xt gasser, and like it , I think I'll get a Rockslide, I like the idea of 4 wheel steering why don't you like it ? I defiantly will go lipo also. If you have time check out some of my videos,
i just bought one of these and the steering doesn't touch the motor wires hmm took it through mud and the steering servos died put some traxxis servos on there way better
Hey guy's can someone help me? I have a rs10 and the left front wheel was locked up. After working with it I was able to free it, but now It only has 3wd not 4wd. the left front wont engage. Redcat says I cant replace the axle, so what else can I do to fix it? Thanks
Just about every single Redcat model possible everybody always lowers the chassis down and cuts the ground clearance in half. I just don't get it. A rock crawlers greatest asset over any other Electric vehicle is its ground clearance. I can understand lowering the center of gravity and I'm relocating my battery on my Everest 10 however that's not going to drop my ground clearance at all. My Everest 10 will crawl over a wood 4 by 4 and I'm just not sure that yours will do that. But then again my Everest 10 goes over large rocks and I mean hellaciously large rocks. I am obviously in the minority here however. So I guess I really can't complain what everybody else does.
check out my latest mods to the rockslide rs10, direct dealers have said they haven't heard of anyone making scale trucks out of the rockslide rs10 RC MC 1/10 scale Axial SCX10 and Rockslide RS10 modifications
Jamie Thorne No he's more like you...a little twerp with no uploads surfing RU-vid to leave snarky comments about shit he knows little to nothing about.
Haha anger…..... Rage I love it. And yes I do own one of these and the super 1\8 as well along with about 20 grand in other rc models....... But I stand behind my first comment still. I know what it is. Mountain storms eyes slop to much to the center to notice the made in China swet shop label. Or could be his whole family works in the factory that made this crawler for 10 cents a day?
did you feel it ????????????? cus i just hit that like and share and sub button so hard i was betting a buddy you wood lol sooooo did you lol hit my place for more help sub my list tell them PMRC sent you so they know im out here working hard for them and now you thanks hope to see you
