@@splitradix Man i so agree with what you said here, and as usual people complain about being "poor" when it's all about getting easy gear with no effort, what about those chinese workers and how they are exploited huh? beringer use crappy power supplys and they make things out of uggly plastic too, i bet all that crap will end up in african junk yards in less than ten years, that unit is what? 40 years? fast fashion that's what they are all about man. and one thing i would love to know is how come nobody ever managed to enter that hudge factory town beringer has in china? i have my thoughts about the subgect. let them think they can make great stuff if they have a collection of cheapo beringer shit, they dont get a synth every three years but every two months, never learning to use the stuff properly, and then talk to others like they were millionaires... from an audio electronics conceptor and builder...
@@splitradix hello in this case nobody will be stolen because RSF is dead since a long time ago , and only a little number of kobold have been made. Not all people wanting an original kobold can have one, it is too rare. If some clones are very questionables ( some are still produced by the original constructor ) , i think that in the case of the kobold serial it is a good thing, if they do a good work at the recreation of the sonic specificities, even more for the polykobold with only 32 produced, and almost everyone failing, and lacking of some functionalities, with only one or two really working.
Kobol pcb set is coming my way..can't wait to build this sucker.....always wanted one...also will build the Expander II...can you post a vid playing them both?
I recall somone was re releasing these 7-8 years back?? (along with the mission critical voice and filter chips) But then the whole thing folded for some reason??
Yes the MOS-Lab guy was making his own version of them a while ago but doesn't seem to be doing so currently. The original used a SSM2040 filter chip which has been officially re-released so there aren't really any rare chips needed that would prevent another re-creation. I think MOS-Lab is a small one person operation so I assume he's just busy doing other stuff.
