"Infinity's a crazy powerful concept." He's right considering that something that's infinite has literally no end, it's a strange thought.

No. There are infinite numbers between 1 and 2 (1.5, 1.555, and so on), but you'll never find a 3.

One of my favorite Gavin moments was his interpretation of Gus. Thanks for sharing that once more.
@Sonicbolt456

I understand what Gavin is trying to say. He is saying no two objects are the exact same length at a infinitely small unit of measurement. Like how a centimeter is longer than a millimetre, imagine that but it has no end and the units get smaller and smaller infinitely. Then yes, no object is the exact same length. But because dividing infinity is an impossible concept, i belive its called a superposition, similar to the consept of Schrodinger's cat, until observed it exists in two states: the same length and not the same length. But in terms of real units of measurement the smallest we can currently measure is a planck length. Which is measurable but unfathomably small. The smallest measurement that really matters is atomic measurements.

There is a lower limit on length precision (at least, according to our current understanding of the universe). It's called the Planck Length.

Are you saying it's not possible for two identical arrangements of molecules to be the same size?
@bobbodaskank
@bobbodaskank 3 года назад
Not even close based on his criteria. But I imagine that a good candidate would be those silicon crystal spheres they made a bunch of years back to potentially replace the official kilogram weights that are used to define a kilogram around the world. I don't think they ended up using them in the end, but they did make them, and they were purportedly the most perfectly spherical objects ever made by man.

Burnie going "I'm just refuting you, OF COURSE THERE'S TWO OBJECTS OF THE SAME LENGTH" sounded so much like something Church would say and I love it.

Here's an interesting thought: there are an Infinite amount of whole numbers but there's more non whole numbers. So one Infinity out ranks the other

Theres a thing called the "event horizon", basically the curtain of existence, the very edge. What is beyond that is unknowing, more space and even more matter. There's even a concept of overlapping universes, with properties unfathomable in ways compared to ours.

The Universe is not infinite in size. It has a very definite size that is increasing at an accelerating rate and that can be calculated.

the infinite used to define the size of the universe is different than a mathematical infinite. There is a set number of things in the universe but, they are well beyond the realm of possibility to count. So no just because we use the word infinite to describe the universe that doesn't mean all possibilities exist within the confines of our universe.
@AutisticWayOfLife
