What Diarmuid was originally giving out about was the fact it was a Dublin ball. Watch him go straight for the ball to take the sideline. The ball went directly out of play from a Carlow kickout and he went to get it and that’s what he was complaining about, and was letting the linesman know he was wrong about it. I was at the game and further from the ball than the linesman and could see it was a clear Dublin ball. This was the game that ruined football for Connolly
Not to mention the Carlow players were extremely dirty that day. I know Brendan Murphy was eventually sent off but he must have taken Connolly out at least half a dozen times before that.
GAA copying soccer yet again by calling the guy the 4th Official. He is called that in soccer because he is the the actual 4th official after the referee and 2 linesman. In GAA there are 8 officials.

Great to see the dubs beat by mayo. Only thing keeping Dublin at top all these yrs was the ridiculous disparity of money they invested into the county while other counties had meer pennies to spend on clubs, youth development. All the 31 counties rejoice.
@@blindsheep6180 They were a great team with a great manager a generational mix of Galvin and talented footballers. What was keeping a lot of counties from competing with them was self pity in many cases. Dubs had plenty if money and other advantages between 1995 and 2011 but hadn't the leadership, the talent or the dedication to even reach a final. They choked plenty of times especially in Croke Park. A lot of the country hate Dubs because they're Dubs, nothing at all to do with football. I'm a Mayo man and I first saw Dublin against us in '78 League final and plenty of times since. A lot of Mayo GAA people don't like the Dublin team because they beat us but really we beat ourselves, not just against Dublin in finals. They mightn't like them but most of them surely do respect them and their winning mentality. That's sport. Class acts. Maigh Eo Abú!
